Twilight Sparkle villains' light motiff

Surely I can't be the only one who has taken notice, but it seems that when it comes to villains or rivals that revolve around Twilight Sparkle, there's a consistent going on: light and time of day.

Sunset Shimmer

Trixie Lulamoon

you can even throw Nightmare Moon in

and now finally in Season 5, Starlight Glimmer.

We know of course this isn't likely to be just coincidence, since Twilight's own name references light and is essentially referring to both Celestia and Luna. Twilight is also as we found out the Princess of Harmony, or Friendship. So she acts as both a savior and a prophet. We also know that at least 2 of these villains/rivals have some connection to Canterlot - Nightmare Moon and Sunset Shimmer, and wanted to replace Celestia and Twilight's role as leaders to rule with their own twisted vision.

Now take this 1 line from Starlight Glimmer that the wiki credits so far:

"When the rest of Equestria sees that a princess gave up her cutie mark to join us, they'll finally understand what we're trying to accomplish." — Cutie Markless, Part 1 or Cutie Markless, Part 2

This is not your run of the mill Discord or Sombra. This is a far more nuanced and sophisticated villain that sees her own vision for Equestria, and like the others she seeks to directly undermine Twilight not only through combat, but by exposing the flaws of her beliefs and the strength of hers.

So we get this theme of false saviors and prophets and Equestria, much like in Christianity there are false prophets that are warned of, particularly Lucifer, whose name fittingly means "light bringer."

But what do you think of this motif? It seems that Twilight needs more than just magic and brute force to win this time. If she wants to prove to her followers, friends, and the viewers that Twilight is a worthy savior, perhaps Season 5's premier will give us that further insight we so crave.

I will ignore the fact that the writers have an obvious trend, when it comes to making anti Twilight Sparkles and rather want to talk about the other stuff.

It's crazy how much potential this premiere has. I was only hyped for the S3 premiere because of Sombra and he was dissapointing and i really didn't care that much for the S4 premiere, but this is so great.

I wonder if Twilight Sparkle will have somekind of moral dillema about her princess title. I was never against her ascension, infact i was one of the few guys who defended her, when it was still very fresh. But i still think that questioning her status would make for a really great plot point in the premiere. Of course, she will find a way to believe in herself and her friends, but that would make for a much stronger payoff.
