That_One_Berry 43 April 7, 2015 Share April 7, 2015 I suggest that there is a little notification to ensure you made a post because i get confused if i posted something that will count and bring me to the next group (for example, parasprite) Again, just a suggestion, Thanks That_One_Berry
Banul 3,831 April 7, 2015 Share April 7, 2015 Everything outside of the forum lounge and the rp sections should count toward your post count.

Lightwing 12,973 April 7, 2015 Share April 7, 2015 The Following sections are the ones where the post that you make don't count towards your total: Welcoming Plaza Testing Forum Everfree Empire OOC Equestrian Empire OOC All of the sections of the Cloudsdale Colliseum. You can see these same notifications that I showed you through these pics on the Main Website 2 ~~ Forum Rules - Forum FAQ - What do you think of me? ~~
Jeric 46,852 April 8, 2015 Share April 8, 2015 I honestly don't support anything that puts emphasis on post count with the exception of badge ranks.
Blue Moon 6,341 May 10, 2015 Share May 10, 2015 (edited) As stated above, the sections where posts counts (Welcoming Plaza, Testing Forum, Everfree Empire Planning & OOC Discussion, Equestrian Empire OOC & Discussion, and Cloudsdale Colosseum) have little comments in the description of whichever section you're looking at to let you know if you're posts count or not. However, with that said, I highly suggest not worrying about your post count. From my experience, if you concern yourself with how many posts you have, you'll start to stop enjoying yourself and your posts' quality may suffer. Just post when and where you want to and don't worry about if it counts or not. The Awesome One 1,315 May 13, 2015 Share May 13, 2015 I have to agree with what Blue Moon said, posting just for the sake of increasing your post count to get the next badge is not why you join a forum.

While building friendships and good post quality are important, what badge you have sometimes serves as like a uniform, showing at a glance how prestigious you are on the forums.

Except the badge does not reflect quality, just quantity.
Knight Hadron 372 May 18, 2015 Share May 18, 2015 Except the badge does not reflect quality, just quantity. I understand, but just like someone can dress in a suit and still be a complete jerk, someone can have a high post count, without quality. I think that brohoofs might be a better sign of prestige in the forums; however, some people dish out brohoofs for low-quality posts. What I'm saying is that maybe brohoofs could be shown next to post count badges? I can already see problems with my idea.

It all boils down to how do you objectively measure a person's worth on the forums? And the answer is, you can't. It's human nature to want to yardstick everyone somehow to filter the noise, have some automatic process to tell you whether this person's opinion is worth listening to, rather than these hundreds of others. But the forum isn't going to be able to provide that filter for you, unfortunately. Beyond post count and broohoof count, there's also 'number of friends', or if IP.Board had the concept of a person being a 'member' of multiple groups, the number of groups they belong to. They're all equally meaningless on their own,

Just because you live in Ponyville (low post count) doesn't mean that you shouldn't be listened to. But if you live in Cloudsdale...POWERFUL PEGASUS PRESTIGE!!!!
