So Angry Joe making sexual jokes about a person getting a job as a voice actor in Mass Effect 3 is ok you think? Just wondering?

That depends. What did he say?

Considering Res. once implied someone they MST'd was a zoophile just because he had a furry icon, I'd say that's pretty mild in comparison.

You DO realize that, like most youtubers, AVGN and NC put on personas that are intentionally over-the-top. They're going to make jokes that are "childish," but they do it because people like it. It may not be your favorite type of humor, and that's fine. You have the right to not enjoy something. But attacking them and their fans is a WHOLE other thing, and it's completely unwarranted. You're making yourself the offender and every fan the victim, and, to be honest, that makes you no better than any anti-brony out there. You're using the logic of "how dare you like something I dislike," and it's one of the biggest asshole moves you can pull. I don't mean that to be mean, but you really need to take a hard look at the things you say.

Yeah Angry Joe is a deliberate caricature of gung-ho masculinity. So anything he says that's not about the actual game is not meant to be taken seriously. Which is good because the actual points he makes are often very good, and I agree with him more than I do Yahtzee.

So then anything saying bad stuff about YouTubers is not ment to be taken seriously. Like making parody jokes how bad angry reviews are. Even though it mocks the idea of it. So i guess its ok :)

Let's be honest here, though, usually Yahtzee plays devil's advocate. Most people don't agree with most things he says.

How did she gets this job? "Licks a Mass Effect 3 cover with sexual music"

So he said someone got a job by having sex? That's not what I would call out of line. Now if someone said, "This game sucks because there aren't enough scantily-clad females" then that deserves to be called out.

Would you be ok if someone did that joke on you in terms of reputation and being public? Would it be ok doing that on a YouTuber?

That's actually a reference to a picture of Jessica Chobot, the voice actor in question, sexually licking a PSP. That's a real thing, by the way. It was the second picture on google for me. (careful though, some nsfw pictures) Licking that PSP is one reason she got a job at IGN, so the story goes.

Considering that information, I don't think that comment was out of line.

Its not like that person is a human or anything.

So she can't be called out on anything questionable she's ever done?

I certainly like the AVGN and what is so wrong about enjoying that? Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's wrong for other people to like it. You can have your opinions and keep them.

Been recently watching the Jontron show and becoming a huge fan of his.

Once again, you're ignoring the death threats and hate-mail their targets have received.

Do you do that with YouTubers who are famous?

I do that with all kinds of famous people. Hell, I do that with my friends, and we all laugh, because sometimes comedy requires a good roast of somebody. Ever watch a comedian about famous people? Usually they don't hate the person, it's just light-hearted roasting, and everyone with a sense of humor can get behind that.

Uh..? So it's fine to criticize certain people but not others?

I am using that argument for people complaining on personal stuff Retsupurae did towards YouTubers for calling out and calling it awful. So i made this argument that was also personal. Should both be banned?

Once again, you're ignoring the death threats and hate-mail their targets have received.

And what if Bioware got death treats because of a uploader?

I'm not sure what you intend by this. Your phrasing is confusing and I have a strange feeling that's scathing sarcasm. I could be wrong though.

Well if you search "Mega64: The Pissed Off Rage Nerd Who Plays Games And Gets Pissed Off" on YouTube, you'd get the idea of people mocking the idea of angry reviews.

It was sarcasm. Look up the earlier comments on it and you'll see the conclusion.

Oh I don't hate him! I agree with him on many points, which surprises me because I'm sure you can tell on the sliding scale of idealism vs. cynicism, we are opposing ends. Just on average, Joe and I agree more on what games we think are good.

I'd rather not. I save my attention for angry reviews that have legitimate points, even if I disagree with them.

I never thought you hated him. He's VERY entertaining, and more often than not I take his reviews as comedy rather than actual suggestions, though if a game is legitimately horrible I won't touch it, of course.

As I said.

The issue is that Res. makes commentary full of personal attacks and insults that encourages that sort of thing.

Angry Joe made a joke about Jessica Chobot licking a PSP to get a job, equating it to her lackluster voicework in Mass Effect 3. That's not the same as a personal insult or a death threat. It's the difference between "The person did a thing that was kind of dumb" vs. "What a stupid idiot".

Honestly, I'm not sure where this thread is even going anymore.

P.S. So much nostalgia for ME3 drama today! It's like I'm back in 2012
