If I were a legal adult, yes. But as a minor, all my property belongs to them. Which means they can do whatever they want to it, even if they didn't pay for it and I won it myself.

Memed because no, I'm pretty sure that if you got it yourself it's yours, even if you're a minor. I'm no lawyer, but it could also be considered emotional abuse if shit happens too frequently.

Banned because if I wanted to, I would have busted them for emotional abuse a long time ago. But where does that put me in life? I'm not ruining my chances at getting into a great college by being put in foster care and leaving with no belongings.

As for the laptop, I though a minor can't own property?

Banned because at that point, why bother? Better to just leave town and never see them again. I've already received a job offer from someone where I'd get a replacement laptop. And if they smash that one, it's not my property, but the person giving me the laptop. Which means he can sue.
