EQG is undoubtedly canon, but the humane 6's ages may not be. Almost nothing is linked between them and the mane 6 except their names and personalities. Even then, few (if not none) girls in their mid teens own their own fashion boutique and create world renowned clothes, nor do they become the head of their family, and even less compete in olympic games and are prime recruits for their local aerobatics team.

Horses age faster so it would make sense that the time lines are not aligned with the human counterparts.

 

Also an off topic question that bugs me

 

Are the humans covered in fur or ponies covered in colorful skin?

We don't celebrate birthdays based on life span instead we go by the celestial calendar. It would make sense if they did the same. Horses usually die around age 40.

Actually, if it were according to horse lifespan, it would roughly mean the mane 6 are from age 35 to 60.

EHHHHH WRONG! The CMC aren't 13 years old! They're eight years old for crying out loud. They're ageless cartoon characters like South Park and The Simpsons!

If Cutie Marks are like hitting puberty they should be between ages 10-14 at least which is the average age girls hit puberty. Because everyone else in their class has gotten their Cutie Marks so the CMC could very well have started at the age of 10 and are older now. They are also going to the Grand Galloping Gala for the first time and Applejack was crying about how they are growing up so fast this could imply they have gotten a bit older maybe not a lot but they are older than 10 now.

They all suppose to be in close age as Rarity. Rarity is in similar age as Cheerilee (and she also run her own business). Cheerilee is a teacher and she was ready to get married. They all are definetly young adults. No matter how Equestria Girls made them look.

Well maybe not. Cherilee would be older than Rarity, as going from substitute to full time teacher takes some time. My music teacher had to spend 14 years replacing other teachers to get his spot. I would place Cherilee at maybe 30-34, as she seems young enough. Some people don't get married before this age now, as they prefer to have a stable economic situation before founding a family.

Then I guess she's younger than she looks like,  Although it is still possible there's a 1 or 2 years difference. The school in Ponyville doesn't seem to have separation by grades, which is common in many rural schools.

1st off, I'd say that in EQ, school lasts until 8th grade (age 14 here in the USA) & then you are working.  IRL, this was the standard about a century ago & Ponyville, at least, seems to be on "early 20th century" time.  As late as WWII, about 2/3 of all US military enlisted personnel weren't high school grads & they would take you even if you were illiterate (IIRC what I read)

 

In Apple Family Reunion, Granny Smith says the reunions are every 100 moons (8+ years).  They show some of AJ's baby pictures at an earlier reunion.  She looks about 1 year old in them.  That makes her 26 at that time & 25 during the pilot.

 

Dash wants to join the Wonderbolts & probably did so shortly after her 18th birthday (Legal age to enlist in the USA).  This makes her 17 during the pilot.  This is somewhat confirmed in Pinkie's Pride.  She tells Pinkie she came to town on her birthday.  The cake shows 21 candles.  I'm taking this as artistic license (strict accuracy would have some unseen candles).  That would be 19 for age, 2 for anniversary.

 

In The Cutie Mark Chronicles, Twilight is shown trying out for Celestia's School.  This makes her 5 (for kindergarten) or 6 (for 1st grade).  The question is "How long ago were these events?".  I'm going w "About 10 years"

 

Apple Jack's parents weren't there to see her off to Manehatten, implying they had already gone wherever it is you think they went (Hasbro isn't saying  ).  This would mean Apple Bloom has already been born & is, perhaps a year or 2 old (& down for a nap).  In the reunion, Granny Smith tells AB "This is your 1st reunion".  IMO. she means "1st you've been to".  She was alive but too young to be taken on a long road trip.  (anyone who has ever travelled w an infant understands this, I'm sure)

 

This makes Dash 7 when she is 1st in her class to get her Cutie Mark, AJ 15 at that time when she is the last to get hers.  This makes The CMCs 10-12 years old at the time of the pilot.  Twilight was 15 or 16 during the pilot.  If that seems too young to be trusted to go to Ponyville, I would point out that she was the same age as AJ when AJ went alone to Manehatten.  IMO, 15 would be old enough to go on a trip escorted by guards.

 

If Dash was the 1st to get her Cutie Mark, Fluttershy must be at least a  year or 2 older.  Yes, there were older kids at camp.  If you look, some of them already had their Cutie Marks & must have been older.  I was at Boy Scout Summer Camp at age 11 & there were some kids as old as 15 or 16 there with us -the scout troops had all ages.  IMO, flight camp was the same.

 

Pinkie & Rarity are harder to say.  Pinkie is younger than Fluttershy & maybe as young as Dash, maybe a little older.  It depends on "How much older than Dash is Fluttershy?"

 

Rarity is young enough that she was in School Theater 10 years ago, but old enough she has her own business.  IMO 20-24.

 

It certainly looks like Cheerilee was in School Theater w Rarity.  She may be a little older than Rarity, but must be 24 or younger.  This means she is just starting out as a teacher, as is shown by the school having had a different teacher at that time.

Wouldn't that "100 moons figure" also let AJ be 17 at the time of Apple Family Reunion? That'd put her close to the age you figure for the others, too.

 

As for Applebloom... Going by what we saw in the episode, all the reunions seem to take place at Sweet Apple Acres.

Twilight was 15 or 16 during the pilot.

 

15-16 seems a bit young for such advanced studies in magic and becoming a princess. She being the same age as when AJ went to Manehatten is highly improbable, unless AJ had severe growth problems. In the episodes, you can clearly see the size difference between both. Plus, girls generally stop growing towards age 16-17, and having that much growth in one or two years is a tad bit too fast.

Knight Dash.   Yes, AJ could have been 17 during the pilot but that would make her 7 during Cutie Mark Chronicles.  That seems awfully young to be hitch hiking to Manehatten.

 

Yes, at 15 or 16 Twilight is very young for what she did during the pilot.  Remember, though, officially she is just supposed to go to Ponyville to check on festival preparations.  You can literally see the castle from there & she has guards for her trip.

 

IRL, Benjamin Franklin had already made a (very minor) invention & was a published author at that age.  Yes, Twilight is young but she is a child prodigy.  At about that age, Joan of Arc was leading French armies to victory against the English during the 100 Years War.

I've never seen a student at age 16 master time travel spells, and even though she is undeniably one of the most promising prodigies I have ever seen, she just entered puberty at approximately the same time, if not a bit younger than her friends. The average age for puberty for girls is around 12-13, with the lowest ones at 10 and some at 14-15. The mane 6 being from age 10 to 15 fits perfectly with their capabilities at the time, and the ones they have now. We see that Twilight is perfectly able to coordinate the 3 elements of the snow clearing team of Ponyville consisting of at least one or two hundred ponies, which seems far stretched for a 15-16 years old, prodigy or not. If she was that young, we're now at EQG level of MarySueness.

2) For some reason, Apple Bloom wasn't there.  Perhaps she was away on a trip with her parents.

4) She was there but was so young she forgot.  Granny Smith had a "Senior Moment" & the others did not contradict her.

it was never stated that time travel was master level, now age magic is a different story as we can see with her duel with trixxie, twilight was incapable of doing it as she stated it was master level

 

as for your second statement i dont see anything wrong here, the ponies clearly have an idea of what theyre doing even without twilights help, theyre capable of doing thier job albeit the results are they are gonna be late for spring

A moon is a lunar cycle, roughly 27 days. Unless the lunar cycle is approximately 3.65 days in Equestria, I doubt 100 moons would be only a year. Nothing implies the family had a reunion. We just had a bunch of Apples, it's all.
