Do you remember this Lewis Carroll poem???It never gets old.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:

Long time the manxome foe he sought—

So rested he by the Tumtum tree,

And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,

The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,

Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,

And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through

The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

He left it dead, and with its head

He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"

He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.'

I LOVE The Jabberwock. He's such a cool monster.MLP needs him

Do I remember it? I had to act it out in drama class! Which was fun, because no one knew what to do.

Got a mark of 100% on that performance ;)

That is because you went to my old High school where I also had to act out the poem.

And I do remember this poem for that reason and because I love Alice in Wonderland.

Totally. It was certainly not because I did a good job, along with the rest of my group XD. Nope, you really saved me with that one. Thanks! [/sarcasm]

Oh,and who was the beast???

I dunno if you directed this at me, asking who the Jaberwock in my group was... But it wasn't me. I was "the father".

No, I was stating that you had to act out the poem because you went to the same school as me.

That is one of my favorite poems. My top two are this one and Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven.

The Raven is the poem about the raven being compared to a dove as the dove is pure, and raven is not correct?

Or am I thinking of a different poem XD?

That is indeed a different poem.

Poe's The Raven is basically the author pining over the loss of his love, Lenore.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore...

You get the idea.

Ah, I'll read the entire poem sometime today. Poe is amazing. I like Robert Frost too.
