Because we're meant to be in character. Wade hates people who force opinions on others. As long as one party doesn't take it too far, what's the problem I'm not seeing?

It's just that the last time it went on too long, I don't want that to happen again. I understand that it apart of your character, but this rp has a purpose, a story line. I just dont want it to derail too much.

Ace got off the train and stepped in Vanhoover. He paid attention to the the group of ponies he had been sitting right behind on the train. They had been talking about stuff to do with pirates and ships. Of course, this had interested him, but something told him talking about it to them on the train wasn't the best idea.

 

Now that he could see them outside, he went over to them and introduced himself rather casually. "Hi there!" he said happily.

I coulda sworn Scarlett casted a sound spell.

You could give the crew a task to do or something while Caramel does something else. We could go around and gather more supplied for the journey or something.

Yeah. That could work and the meanwhile caramel is visiting some old friends or something. Which is the reason she is absent.

The crew could be doing something that would ensure that preparations have been made for the journey. Gather supplies, find more information about Atlantis, my OC would probably need to work closely with CoD's character as my OC handles the maps and he Atlantis's history. 

 

Just that the crew is contributing to the journey to come.

Supplies does not mean just food. It is a pile of resources that are needed for something. 

 

Example. More wood, in case the ship takes damage. Extra sails, things needed to repair stuff, medical supplies, stuff like that.
