Everypony was in panic mode at the cafe ponies screaming, the manager on the phone with the cops, because of the kidnapping of Scare Effect and the unconscious form of Banner. in the panic nopony noticed a grey pony approached Banner and dragged her out of the cafe. the pony teleported with Banner to a abandoned warehouse by the docks, she grabs some herbs in a bowl lighting them and held them under Banners nose waking her up. before she opened her eyes the pony hid in the shadows completely hiding her face.

"ah!" she woke up quick "that was the worst smelling thing ever...wait what happened to scare, why am I in a abandoned warehouse" her mind started to race with many questions in her head a threating one popped up in it and that was that she might die soon "how brought me here! if you want to kill me let it be a fair fight!" she yelled

"no I do not wish to fight you Banner, i wanted to help you save Scare." the pony said from the shadows." I know you have no need to trust me but i am a friend that cares about Scare she was the one who freed me and i wish to help you save her if you want me to." the pony said in a sincere tone.

As the stallions walk near a café, Sinusoid hears the screaming, and says, "Might she have been here?"

Fracture replies, already going to the door, "Obvously."

They walk inside, and Sinusoid directs the sound of an emergency phone call to his ears, listens for a moment, and says, "Scare and Banner were here, but they were apparently kidnapped."

"Well, that's not nice."

"This greatly increases the chance of these events being related, and Scare is probably endangered... We should go."

Dax moaned as he slowly woke up.  He opened his eyes, gave a grunt, then closed them again, quickly.  He lie there for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts.  Eventually, he opened his bloodshot eyes & scanned the room he was in.

 

What... how did I... where am... ohh, my head.

 

He slowly lifted himself to his hooves & looked around, rubbing his ringing skull as he did.

 

I remember... was I drunk?  I know I wanted to go for a drink, especially after-

 

His tired eyes flew open, and he exclaimed, "I'm LATE!"  He gave the apartment only the most cursory of glances as he looked for a door.  Finding it, he stumbled out into the hallway... then stopped.  He looked back at where he just came from & started memorizing the path, for later return... IF he knew where he was, that is.

 

Wondering how he got to where he'd woken up, he got outside & began triangulating his position based on the street signs.  He hurriedly began making his way to where he was certain Rave would be - at least according to the schedule he'd amassed during the time he'd been here.

 

"Maybe it's time..."  he said to himself.

Banner tries to calm down "let me guess another magical bunch of enemies want to destroy the world and apparently Scare is the most important thing in there plan or going to stop them in there plan, I kind of got used to it already but if it is another powerful, magical group then I guess I do need help because when I fought Fear the only thing I did was get nocked into a wall" she sighed "Scare draws a lot of attention huh?"

 

(I can change this if you think Banner is being to much of a deus ex machine)

"hey Dax you could at least waited until i told you where you are." Chaotic said to his right, "because you seem a bit lost even though we are only fifteen minutes from the street i found you on." Chaotic  flashed a smile at Dax to lighten the mood ."come on back to my house so we can discuss what we were talking about last night."

Scare woke up in a dark room strapped to a strange machine."where am I?" Scare asked out loud.

"your where you belong in my machine that will allow me to bring my army to this wretched world." Spinner said with a chuckle.

"you won't get away with this."

"too bad i already have." Spinner pulled a lever and Scare's body is suddenly filled with pain as her power was drained from her body.

"Sorry about that Banner." the pony said stepping out of the shadows revealing herself to be Fear. "and  I hope i can of help to you."

"apology accepted but we need to find Scare now, I have the worst feeling right now, and I know its not from that" she pointed to the bowl of burnt herbs "where do you think Scare could have gone?" she asked hoping she would at least know something about where she was

"look out side and you will see." Fear said pointing out a window showing a beam of light shooting into the sky ripping a hole in the sky."they are using her to open a portal from our world to their world so they can invade and destroy Equestria." Fear added

Dax jumped when Chaotic spoke to him.

 

"AAH!  DON'T... don't do that!"  Dax fought to catch his breath, then his face went through a few shifts:  first surprise, then a bit of anger, then thoughtfulness, followed by shock, then ended by a sorrowful frown.

 

"Oh, Chaotic... I'm... I'm SO sorry about last night.  I was drunk, and..."  he almost looked as if he'd cry again, but then he faced forward & began trotting.

 

"Look, I'm kinda late for... for a thing.  You're welcome to join me, if you like - but I've really gotta be there.  It's..."

 

He shook his head.  "Why do I get this feeling you already know?"  He went on, making his way back into the section of town his quarry would be frequenting at about this time of day.  He kept up a decent pace, but was apparently trying to allow for Chaotic to follow.

 

"Okay, we can talk about things - but let's get to where I'm going while we do.  I have to see how-"

 

He turned to Chaotic again, still trotting.  "... I think you know what I'M doing, but do you know why?"

Banner's jaw dropped "you know how we didn't have an army last time, I think we are going to need an army this time" she said looking at the tare in the sky "I don't have any weapons with me so I cant very well do a lot, unless you have a plan, because your like my only hope to save equestria and scare right now, I am just forgetting about everything wrong you did right now" I hope this still isn't a trap she thought

"sorry Banner my plan involves only to wait until they release Scare then she should be able to call Everest."Fear said to Banner."sorry but i cant fight them and neither can the equestrian army. But we need to warn the guards to evacuate the city, get close so i can take us to go see the captain here."

Banner was saddened by this news but would not let that get in her way, she had to wait to save Scare and equestria "your right any plan of a sneak attack would be impossible with that army...unless they were all in small numbers but if there as magically powerful as you were then they would be screwed" she said then hugged Fear "lets go"

once Banner grabbed her Fear teleported to the royal guards manehatten base." we are here.Banner," Fear said as she looked at one of the guards "we need to talk to your boss." Fear said to the guard.

"yes ma'am." the guard walked into the building to get his boss.

"it is okay Dax but if not having friends upsets you, just remember i will always be your friend." Chaotic said and was about to continue when a light shot into the sky piercing a hole between dimensions. "Well Dax looks like we have a problem on our hooves."

Aargh...my head feels like it's about to explode! I slowly tried to opened my eyes, after a few failures I manage to completely open them. I touched my forehead as I rose from my spit covered desk. Wiping my eyes filled my vision with some degree of clarity. Looking around I saw a bottle of whiskey resting on my desk. The papers I drooled on were my leads on the case. Must have been working all night, I don't even like whiskey. I thought to myself as I finished the bottle. After washing my face in my bathroom I looked at the time. Damn I must have slept longer then I'd thought, maybe some television will get me going. The news, probably talking about the murder like the news tabloids. Kidnapping!! I quickly donned my trench coat and mask hastily tucking my badge in my pocket as I hurried out the door. Grabbing my hat before locking my door I was ran as fast as I could towards the scene.

Dax looked at the beam of light, eyes wide in wonder.

 

"W-w-what's THAT!?"  Dax pointed at the beam... then slowly turned & looked at Chaotic.

 

"Did... did you just say... you're my... friend?"

 

Dax stared at her for a long moment, his mouth working but nothing coming out.  He then slowly came over to her & gave a slow, deliberate & gentle hug.

 

"I... I didn't think... thank you... thank you, Chaotic, I didn't think you... you..."

 

He began dancing in place, suddenly energized.

 

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU OH MY DEAR SWEET CELESTIA THANK YOU I DIDN'T EVEN THINK YOU LIKED ME THANK YOU THA-"

 

Dax stopped, turned to look at the beam of light, and then gave Chaotic a large yet determined smile.

 

"We'll talk later; for now, I gotta find Rave - if ANYpony has the power to help with... whatever THAT thing is... then it'd be HIM."

 

Dax's eyes were slightly watery, but shining with new purpose, the sad look in them that had been evident since Chaotic first met him a year earlier was long gone.

 

"Let's do this... my friend."

Chain's eyes widened at what he saw. I wonder if banner has anything to do with this he thought hoping it was not true and got to the intercom in this office "hey I bet your wondering about that giant laser thing in the sky, well get out of here in a-" he didn't even finish what he said when he heard all hell break loose under him "they never listen" he says as he gets the emergency supplies he put in his office then run's out the building

Sinusoid stares at the sudden hole in the sky "This... might be very bad."

Fracture bluntly replies, "You are correct."

"Should someone be doing something about this?"

"I can assume that Scare has been stopped, her massive amount of energy restrained, for the... beam to remain undisrupted."

"Then this means that, if we were to find her, we would be helping."

"That's a great idea; let's run."

They begin to gallop in the direction of the beam, and Sinusoid asks, "Does no one else have a problem with the fact that there can't be a hole in the sky?"

Buzz and Hits had just left the apartment buildings, laughing away at the stories of their past, when they noticed everypony on the street running and screaming. When they looked to see what they were running from, they saw the massive beam of light, and the portal that was situated in the sky. "Holy Luna!" said Buzz in shock, Hits didn't say anything. She was in too much shock to really tell how much this shocked her. Buzz then flew back upt o his apartment window and opened it."Hey, where are you going?" Hits called to Buzz who was now back in the apartment. He rushed into his room and opened a large box that he brought with him from Applewood. Inside was a collapsible bow and 35 arrows: 15 regular and 15 'experimental' bows all in a tube with a strap on it. He grabbed these and put them on his back. He then flew out the window and started to head towards the beam of light. "HEY" Hits screamed at the top of her lungs, needing to take a deep breath afterwards. "I have to go, you need to go home, get your family and get out of the city. Try and find my parents if you can." with that said, Buzz flew off. Hits stared into the sky where Buzz had been hovering before turning around and taking a few steps. Then she remembered what it felt like last time Buzz had left her when he went to Applewood, after everything they had been through, after everything they had said, after.....after everything he confessed to her on his last night. She then stopped. "Not this time." she said under her voice as she turned around and started to run towards the beam of light.

Chain was being pushed and shoved by the crowd of pony "does no pony have backbone here?" he said looking up into the sky to see a Pegasus flying to the beam as well as a mare running throw the crowd to it, he looked behind him and saw two others running in the crowd and stood there until they came to him "I'm just guessing but I think you know more about this" he said to them before running with them

Fracture and Sinusoid reach the building before Fracture begins to explain; "We do know more about this. That pony had a realization that this beam, the ponies inside of this building, and the recent murders are related."

Sinusoid looks around the building, now shaking with excitement, trying to find a way in. Finding that the doors are locked and their screws are all on the inside, he goes to a small window and says, "Everyone, stand away." His horn illuminates, the glass begins to vibrate, and it soon shatters.

Rave had finally managed to get himself to go out, after cleaning himself up. He still had cuts all over his body and some scars. His vision seemed blurred and dark. He saw swirls of purple. Purple smoke was leaking out of his eyes. He knew what that was. He was in his shadow state, when having overdosed on dark magic.... however, it did not seem to be leaving him. He had not used dark magic for several hours now. He looked up and saw a beam of light, he hissed a bit. "What is this. I see.... power... magic..." he licked his lips and started walking in the direction of the light. He was limping a bit due to a deep cut in his left hind leg. He was supposed to be at work, but he could not care less about it right now.

The streets were filled with fear and chaos in reaction to the sudden appearance of a large swirling rift in the sky. Ponies seemingly ran in an direction in an attempt to flee possible destruction. Me and a few ponies were curious enough to stare. How does the murder of two ponies even lead to this? I quickly hurried back to my home, pushing and shoving the scared ponies that got in my way. Dumping my trench coat and hat, I pulled out a heavy box from underneath my bed. Flipping it open revealed my grandfathers life's work. I put on the full body black, seemingly rubber like material that was my undersuit. When I was comfortable enough I heaved out the heavy metallic plates that protected around my legs, chest, and flank. The suits interlocking plates clicked as they were put together. Lastly I put on my helmet before rushing back outside. Whatever comes out of that hole, will have to go through me and the rest of the equestrian defenses. Let's just hope this blue bulwark of a suit can do its price justice.

"Sorry but captain Blade Waltz is not here." The guard said to Fear and Banner when he came back.

"Its okay we just need you guys to evacuate the city and prepare for battle, there is gonna be a battle here and we need your help with saving Equestria." Fear said to the guard.

with pain clouding her eyes Scare watched as monsters began pouring out of the portal into Manehatten, they varied in size from dragons to demon ponies.

"isn't it beautiful the world of Equestria is gonna fall and it is all thanks to you." Spinner said to Scare with an evil smile on her face. then the machine powered down, "well looks like your out of magical energy. Spectrum Rose please escort ms.Scare from here."

"yes ma'am " the yellow pony from before answered with a bow, then untied Scare and carried her off towards the Manehatten river, but once out of sight Spectrum carried Scare to a small boat on the river that flows down town toward the center of town."Good luck Scare I know that your help will be required to close the portal." Spectrum says as the boat begins to drift into town.

Buzz kept flying towards the source of the light beam, until it suddenly dissapeared. "what the..." Buzz kept flying in the same direction, till he noticed a yellow mare carrying a familier looking pony. "It can't be. Scare..." Buzz started to follow the ponies, sticking to the cloud layer to not be seen. When he saw the two part ways, he flew to the boat. He knew that doing this would let the villian escape, but he had to know who this imposter was. Buzz stood above Scare, the bow in his front hooves and an arrow pointed at her head. "Who are you?!"

Hits was now at the location of where the beam of light had been. She stayed hidden, trying to avoid the monsters that were now eeverywhere. She eventually reached a warehouse and rushed inside. "Where is Buzz?" Hits said aloud, not knowing he had taken a detour. She searched the warehouse and came into a large room with an open roof. There was a machine like thing in the middle of the room. "What is that?"
