That's a toughie. They all represent good values to take into life.

I would have to say Pinkie Pie.Always be happy even in the worst of times and try to cheer everybody up.If anything, the world would be less bleak that way.

I agree with the idea that each pony has something to offer and this is good because it allows a broad spectrum of kids to find a role model. I truly feel that everything we see and do teaches us something so long as we pay attention and keep our minds open. Even TV ponies have something to teach.

All of the Mane Six have role model worthy traits, and it's really subjective as to who is the "best" at anything, but I would personally put them in this order. I'm only going to talk about the good in them, not why I'm not ranking them as high as others. This is just a personal opinion. (Long post incoming)

1. Applejack. Honesty is the best policy, and Applejack's so true to herself and her friends. She's a hard working pony who almost single-hoofedly runs the farm and takes care of the family, as Granny Smith and Apple Bloom are part of the dependency ratio, so only Big Mac can assist her all of the time. She's had to grow up very fast because of the loss of her parents, which means she's mature, and she's not only been a great big sister to Apple Bloom, but she's been a motherly figure to her as well. Applejack is down to earth, so she's the best for giving honest advice, and she doesn't meltdown in times of distress, but rather keeps calm and collected. She's practical, modest, humble, a problem solver, a leader, and she's not afraid to get down and dirty, or even lose a limb if it means saving a loved one's life. She's faithful and true to her friends, and she always goes out of her way to get a job or done or help someone with something. She's just downright sweet to the core (bad pun intended) and has an undeniable charm that has most citizens of Ponyville smitten with her. That's something only Pinkie Pie could top. I can also add that she's not only strong, but very athletic too. She's a ten time rodeo champion after all, and she strives to keep her promises and never let those who are counting on her down. Applejack is the epitome of what a role model looks like, and that's exactly why she's my favorite. If I could be like any one of these characters 100% of the time, I would want to be like her.

2. Twilight Sparkle. Knowledge is power. Twilight's always studying and trying to learn all she can, and she loves to use what she knows to help others. She's mature, organized, and a natural born leader. She's usually the one with the bright ideas, and she's a go-to pony for advice on many matters. She's no braggart either, as she's also very modest and humble like Applejack.

3. Fluttershy. Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see, to quote the great Mark Twain. Fluttershy is so amiable and sweet, she's the most likely to forgive and forget, and she'd be the quickest to kill someone with kindness and win over even the darkest of hearts. She's compassionate, understanding, nurturing, and non-judgmental.

4. Pinkie Pie. Laughter is the best medicine. Pinkie Pie has so many qualities that are so key to have in life. She's optimistic, positive, childlike, and above all, full of joy. She spreads joy everywhere she goes, and always goes out of her way to make people smile, even strangers. Just having the ability to brighten up someone's day and to be so joyous in doing so, is incredibly admirable.

5. Rarity. Generosity is greatly appreciated. Rarity is proof that you too can be model-level gorgeous and also be beautiful inwardly. She always goes out of her way to help others look and feel their best. She's the type who will do without something if it benefits another. She is classy and sophisticated, clean and polite, and considerate of others. She's certainly not stuck up either. She runs a business all by herself which shows that women can take charge and do whatever they set their mind to do.

5. (Tie) Rainbow Dash. Loyalty is the pledge of truth to oneself and others. Rainbow is a pony who follows her dreams day and night, but she also knows what it takes to fulfill those dreams, and she knows recklessness is not part of it. She has all the confidence in the world, and is comfortable in her own skin. She's sporty and athletic, and has leadership qualities rivaled only by Twilight and Applejack. She'll take a bullet before she lets her friends get hurt, and she's always the quickest to stand up for them. She's incredibly brave and is always seeking adventure, new thrills and challenges. She's a best young flier winner and iron pony winner, as well a Wonderbolt in training, proving she can be very ambitious. She is awesomeness personified, and that's definitely something to admire and look up to in its own right. img-1321738-1-smile.png

Darn it. I have got to stop it with the mountains of text nobody is gonna read. >.<. Tl;dr: they all make for great role models.

I think the best role model among the Mane 6, is very hard to decide. All 6 of the ponies, teach life lessons.

Applejack - Honesty and Modesty towards all of the ponies.

Twilight - Knowledge and Intelligence can lead to bigger and better things.

Rainbow Dash - Basically, loyalty is good to help others.

Pinkie Pie - Laughter can lift up people's spirits.

Fluttershy - It is good to show a little bit of kindness.

Rarity - Generosity helps lead to caring and happiness.

I would say that the topic "best Role-Model" is extremely subjective. A kid could already be smart/intelligent (Twilight) and also kind (Fluttershy)... but be extremely introverted  meaning he needs to use Pinkie Pie as a Role-Model to overcome his deficiency to make friends. A kid could also be too loud and happy (Pinkie Pie), causing others to run away from his hyperactivity--Fluttershy/Rarity could possibly teach him to be a bit subtle with his tone of voice and actions.

All I'm saying is, "Best Role-Model" differs from everypony. You might have loads of this good characteristic, but lack that. And this is why I love, MLP: FIM, it teaches all sorts of good traits to kids/teens/adults that everyony can apply in their respective lives XD
