ooc Sombra's Shadow [OOC]

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry that I may have turned the way of the story. It's just that is how my ponysona would have reacted. Idk, I can always edit my posts if necessary. I just didn't really know where things were going. I just posted what I was thinking and what I have witnessed up to this point.

Please, let me know if I ever go out of bounds.

Oh, nonono! You are absolutely fine. Limiting what you can and cannot do is not the proper way to tell a story. You should always have free will in a good roleplay, as long as you are willing to take the consequences. By all means, do the unexpected! Try to surprise everyone.

(Except you should probably consult with Pucky or Jonas if it's something way out there.)

Besides, I'm not a DM, nor anyone particularly special concerning the roleplay. My only outrages would be if my character dies without good cause or specific instructions from the DM, someone else's character dies in an equivalent situation, or someone godmods, breaks the rules, etc.

@@Count Paradox,

Psych was closer to Trivy then Lilith was, though- Trivy always regarded her coolly at best. Besides, it was Lilith's tracking device that lead the army to Baltimare in the first place, so she's just as guilty if not more. Logically, Psych would be a better memorial partner- he knew her better than Lilith did. She is unaware of any guilt that he feels- it was El'Shardim, not her, that noticed his emotions and pointed Harcourt towards him on the ship.

*taps hooves together nervously*

I'm not sure how it's going to play out, or if you'll want her there...and I'm not even a songwriter or anything, so it would be more me picking out a song that already exists that's poignant and fitting, but...if Aria got to play a piece during the memorial, she...I would be grateful and honoured.

I really, really wish I hadn't tried writing that at 12AM on mobile. There is no way I can do your post justice.

Nonsense, it was a good post!

@@Pripyat Pony, So are you still planning on posting soon?

Compliments on your post! It was beautiful! I didn't expect such a hopeful speech at such a time, very surprising and just amazing writing!  :yay:

Stardust looks at things just a little bit differently. From the time she fist met the group she tried to spread the hope that was burning inside her. She will always be the one to try and make others smile and to try and look at things from a different angle so they can see the good in life. She still has her own struggles but she tries to have faith in others no matter what they have done. Just like I had said about Lilith, she was nervous after the boat but seeing her in a different light she is beginning to have faith in her. Same as with all of the other ponies. :)

@@Pucksterv, I'm not really sure what to post. I mean, I know that the identity of the strange mare isn't going to be revealed just yet, but Jinx would know who she is. So I'm working out how to word it. XD

It wasn't actually planned that anyone knew who the pony was. I hadn't even thought that Rave would know who the pony was, however, considering the circumstances, that can be altered :)

I really liked your post, especially the part where Stardust wasn't that heavily emotionally invested regarding Trivia's death since she barely knew her. It gave your post a whole lot of realism ;)

Everyone Harmony's Light, heed my call!

Very soon, we are going to have a few decisions to make- we'll still be character-focused, but, as leaders, we'll be expected to start strategics after the initial busybody has been settled down. Now, I'm not sure how many of you enjoy the task of ensuring that a force is recruiting well, that intel is in and everything goes forwards... but I have a few suggestions.

1) We do it together in roleplay

While this makes this much more togetherness, this makes war council meetings a considerable part of our roleplay and eat up a lot of time; especially if we don't agree immediately what to do. However, it would bring us closer together as a team, knowing that we all have a voice in the polls.

2) We do it together out of the roleplay

All of the above, but we can metagame a bit easier and have it go quicker, allowing our time at base to be used for notable locations, emotional scenes, and et cetera. However, it will still eat up time, though it would allow us to multitask easier.

3) One or two players do it in roleplay

Quicker, easier, but runs the risk of offending others when their options aren't considered.

4) One or two players do it out of the roleplay

Quicker, easier, and allows metagaming, but depending on how it ends up doing, can lead to offending others.

5) Hand off the responsibility of an NPC

Effectively above, but either me or Pucky (the only two really controlling NPCs) working everything out and sharing information with you as appropriate. Effectively, we'd worry about maintaining the steady stream while you go enabling those streams.

6) Any other option you can think of that would work

Personally, I would prefer 5; it would let me do something that I love doing (strategics and intelligence) and for you all to focus on roleplaying. But it's a group, so let's make this a group effort and decide this now before we have to stop everything dead to do so.

I personally prefer option 5. I wouldnt be a very good strategist, so i would rrely on others for it...

Also, I may be a bit busy for a while, I'm entering myself in the Hearth Warming fanfic contest, so I'll be working on my story. I'm about halfway through, I think, so it shouldnt take too much longer, I hope.

Also, if anyone is interested, I can send them a copy of what I've gotten done later on.

Said it before I could :P

Anyway, option 5 is my personal favourite since I kinda already planned out an idea in my head. (Although I won't be telling)

Strategics are important but we're still a long way from battle.

So... basically, in order to shoehorn this decision in, I have to have the Grand Ranger say YOU ARE NOT PREPARED... and move them off to Equestria anyways to find said elements? After all of the setup of us going to kick this revolution into overdrive... ugh.

I guess you're the DM, so I'll do it, but that breaks a bunch of pacing and ideas that have been made so far on my part, and will define Darkhollow as more of a barrier than a help. We weren't going to start a war, we were going to start an uprising- a shadow war, if you would. (Kinda funny, isn't it?) But unless the elements are all in the Griffon Empire for whatever reason, that's a huge stop sign.

((Also, if you think that I'm going into a straight-up fight, then you're wrong. The term 'strategy' refers to anything relating to the gaining of overall or long-term military advantage- so the elements are a strategic goal. Obtaining recruits from the freed refugees are strategic goals, and so are securing steady trains of supply. Battles are on a smaller scale; tactics (in-battle decisions) and operations (theaters of war; supply trains to armies and engagements in a set area). Effectively, we'd be doing what they were doing beforehand (raiding settlements to evacuate them to the Empire) only with a centralized power base while we search for the elements.))

Besides, how else are we going to find the Elements? Loaf around until they magically show up, like we're a sort of magnet to them? I mean, it hardly seems realistic, to be honest. We've gotta go out and find them.

On a final note, please keep in mind that nothing here was intended to be said with venom- I'm merely stating that I am opposed of the decision to delay the start of our outings and explain points, as well as to clarify what I meant in military terms. You are still the DM, and I will abide with what is decided, but I feel that forcing us to find the elements before even getting started will slow this roleplay down immensely.

I said you peeps are not prepared. I never said that you couldn't start preparing ;)

But I am going to reiterate, you still haven't discovered all of the elements. They are going to be needed for the final battle as well to really make a difference for the oncoming battles. The main objective for the group would of course be to pursue the elements, instead of dealing with the strategies or politics. That would be best left with the NPCs, or in other words, option 5. Besides, like Puck said. She already has a plan regarding that.

The Elements are above being a strategical goal, they are essential. I will not say anything more so that I won't spoil.

If you are speaking from your character's perspective, then it is fine. But it should be noteworthy that there should be some realisation about the power of the Elements.

I don't believe that this RP was ever meant to be a particularly short one. Be patient ;). You have already made contact with some of the former bearers of the elements, so you shouldn't be slowed down too much :)
