I mean sure, maybe it wasn't fair of him to fall for Twilight within a 2 hour period But I think they should've maybe introduced him during... The Canterlot Wedding perhaps? That way we already have an idea of who he is and grow to like him and his romance with Twilight could've slowly developed

I don't mind him existing, everyone projects hate onto both Flash for something one did though is kinda well unfair. If you're alternate dimensional you punched someone in the face should they hate you, who was innocently at home, or the other you who actually did it?

 

I have to say that yes he is underdeveloped but if you throw a background pony there the same reaction could almost be had which is kinda what pony Flash is at this point. He had one line from the movie and so far I have yet to see him talk. You don't have to hat him for something human him did cause he doesn't know about it. If Pinkie Pie started dating say, I don't know, Orange Swirl would you give her the same hate?

 

Also don't use Gary Sue cause you hate a character, explain a bit, one of you is exempt because you listed what made you think of what makes up such a "perfect" character. Do you feel he is lacking in personality being just a smile with a body like when someone is trying to make a first impression towards their date's parents? Maybe you feel that no one is so good at multiple things and should be only good at one thing like guitar but suck at dancing or social skills? Maybe their hair just angers you? Whatever it is EXPLAIN I beg of you.

 

Well that was my thought on Flash and what usually follows him around, I see him as a background guard rookie, I say rookie cause compared to the others he isn't uniform yet.

 

 

P.S. I don't mind Flash getting shipped with Sunset, she may have known both flashes and likes them so either version could work, but I don't control your ships or their backgrounds you do in your mind, it's why you are captain of your ship. You call the shots.

Hm.. he's really cool. Ship? Obviously Twilight because I have to follow Hasbro Studios. I don't know why he's getting a lot of hate, I mean if you find a pretty girl isn't it obvious you'll fall in love? xD Or am I wrong ._. >~< Maybe it's different for everyone, but for Flash..

It’s not a mayor problem that this character exists as he is, but the fact they went out of their way to force him onto Twilight as her stallion accessory. He is a Joshbot, and that is bad. Disney learned fast that such characters are crap and have been phasing them out. Tangled, Frozen, Gravity Falls, Star vs the Forces of Evil, all these have characters that are either faking to be such studs, or are made fun off because of these traits (Robbie Stacey Valentino has obtained tight pants and a guitar, oh no, now he’ll steal my waifu!). Even Ken from Toy Story 3, a living legend among this brand of male characters, has been made into a groovy and endearing joke.

 

For Twilight Sparkle, our smart, well-read, nitpicky, strong-willed, adorkable, monster-punching, OCD-ridden Workaholic of Friendship to fall for such a guy and stay with him for more than a year is a breach of contract in my grimoire. Even Rainbow Dash, her loyal friend, can’t stand her lectures and frantic obsession with organization. Can you imagine a Mr. Popular like Flash to live with this gal? Not only is he most likely weaker than just about any of Twilight’s friends (yes, including Spike), but utterly incapable of understanding words that are coming out of her mouth.  Or are you truly implying that he knows about the EoH, Star Swirl, magic, or pony science? Cause, you know, that would actually make him a Gary Stu. However, without this knowledge, his lines with Twily would be limited to lovey-dovey stuff which gets stale after you live with somepony for a month. And let’s face it: Twilight doesn’t give a bushwoolie’s ass about bands, sports, royal guards, or other fancy things you can plaster on Flash without making him into said Gary Stu. It’s checkmate for this ship’s development.

 

So what say you? Rather that destroying each other, let us work together and forge this stallion into a relevant and undisruptive background pony. If it’s only his development that you want, I’m sure we can all find a fitting compromise.

My other beef with him - and specifically, his pony form - is he's basically a carbon copy of Shining Armor with a lower military rank.

 

What it implies is she only likes him because he reminds her of her BBBFF - there's basically nothing else about him she could be attracted to because he has no development at all.

 

Ew.   Shades of Twispike, and it's a toss up as to which one is more taboo...
