How did Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash outrun 4 full grown stallions?

Looking back on "the last roundup", during the stagecoach chase scene, we see Fluttershy- a pony who isn't at all athletic, and breaks a sweat just doing a single wing up, and Rainbow Dash, who is an above average runner, just able to keep up with Aple Jack, as seen in "fallweather friends".

So let's assume that Fluttershy, lacking any stamina whatsoever, was just being pulled along by Rainbow Dash, rather than putting much, if any effort into pulling the stagecoach-which was also carrying 3 full grown mares- Rarity, Pinkie, and Twilight.

Are we to assume that Rainbow Dash, who isn't a competitive runner bt the way, who obviously bore the brunt of the weight of pulling the Stagecoach, Fluttershy, Pinkie, Rarty, AND Twilight, kept up with FOUR fully grown stallions who were pulling a stagecoach with only Apple Jack in it?

In my opinion:

1. Fluttershy is more into being an earth pony than a pegasus. That's why she lives on the ground. and would rather walk than fly. so there could be some stamina there. not RD stamina, but some stamina. though I don't know how she could keep up with RD. Maybe if we factor in Flutter's inner strength? Maybe not though

2. Applejack carriage was more bigger and possibly heavier. could easily weigh more than 4 maybe 5 ponies.

I got nothing. I don't even know how they could fly over the train

Well for one thing Fluttershy is a lot more athletic than she lets on, at least to me. She helped create the tornado in Hurricane Fluttershy as well as increased her wingpower exponentially (Which I need to point out is a unit of power and not speed), she was the one Rainbow Dash picked to help save Rarity and Spike when they were falling in Secret of My Excess and she was able to keep up with RD during that flight as well.  So if anything I think Fluttershy has a sort of mental hold on herself similar to the Wally West Flash was holding himself back in his early comic run.

Of course the real question is why did the rest of the Mane 6 get into a cart to begin with? Why couldn't they all run after them? Wouldn't that have been lighter and allowed for RD to catch Applejack and the other ponies while flying?

all of those examples are of Fluttershy being tested with her flying ability, though. Running is a different matter entirely. Again, using Rainbow as an example, she can fly faster than sound, but she spends more time in the air, flying, than on the ground running, so her speed and strength in her legs doesn't match up with the power that her wings possess.

Why is Vinyl Scratch X Sunset shimmer a ship and why am I seeing a picture of it.

because FRIENDships exist.

In high stakes situations like this one, adrenalin levels can spike causing a burst of physical power. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash would have both had heightened adrenalin levels because there was a friendship at stake. The four stallions really didn't have anything to gain from outrunning the others besides money so they would not have had the adrenalin boost. Also, RD can use her extremely powerful wings to help propel her along, that's why they had to be tied to her sides in Fair Weather Friends. Presumably Flutters can use this tactic as well. And yeah, AJ's cart was way bigger.

What Princess Lona said + Fluttershy has always performed WAY better when trying to help her friends (I refer to her performance in part 2 of Return of Harmony, for example)

Also, everyone seems to assume the stallions were fresh.  IMO, they just got in from hauling something else & were tired.  This makes a big difference.

It's all part of Twilight's future princess training. The upcoming princess of Equestria can't be seen running around on hoof when there is a perfectly fine carriage-equivalent for her to use, and the peasants to pull it.

Well the true answer is, Magic. because you know. Magic is their thing....

i'm wrong but "Magic"

then why didn't Twilight just teleport into Applejack's stagecoach, take the reigns away, and stop the chase for Pinkie to talk sense into her? Or levetate AJ in the air before she could even jump into the stagecoach and run away?

Good question. Aside from Rainbow's athleticism to partially compensate, I'd have to say much of it was sheer willpower. Also the stallions weren't likely going as fast as Applejack had liked and managed to underestimate the 2 pegasi. They pretty much rebuked Applejack at the end and left, so its at least clear that their minds were not set on the pursuit like Fluttershy and Rainbow's were.

EDIT: Applejack's stagecoach also was considerably bigger and thus likely heavier too. So there's also that.
