Dragon Ponies?

What do you think of the idea of Dragon Ponies?

I know the show already has Dragons but maybe a hybrid of Pony and Dragon?

They could also have their own community.

 

I'd imagine the Pony-Dragon to have some scales and some horse hair. It would have two scaly wings and would breathe fire and let out a horse sound while doing it. The Tail would be a dragons but the body would be Pony. They'd also have claws like any other dragon and pony/dragon mixed ears.

You see this in a artist "next" gen for the my little ponies or the  Qilin in Asia. Which is always fun to see how they drawn and fit into the you by the artist/writer!

That's a pretty neat tidbit of info! I have noticed Spike sometimes would sometimes stand or move as a quadruped during the early seasons, but I haven't seen him do that this season.

If we don't or can't get dragon ponies,   perhaps a dragon like race that is not evil can work given the wide range of creatures MLP can pull and play with.

I actually have one in my signature named Stormcloud. These Kirin (Japanese way of saying Qilin) are more similar to unicorns than pegasi, the way I have them. They even debate over whether or not they really did descend from dragons. I also decided to depict a more Japanese culture.

Not keen on dragon ponies, but then, I disike the idea of corrupting the purity of dragons with other species.

The concept of dragon ponies is interesting, but would they really fit within the lore of Equestria? I mean outside of Luna Eclipsed (and that could've been magically created) we have yet to see concrete footage of bat ponies, so I would think dragon ponies would be even less likely.

There have been some Sparity fan fics with dragon/pony crossbreeds.  Also, there are Kirin which are some kind of dragon hybrid
