MLP:FiM and Spongebob SquarePants?

Hi everypony, I'm new, and I just got on this site to say, I like FIM. To me, I feel as thought the show is somewhat like SpongeBob SquarePants. But that's just my opinion. What are you're thoughts on the show and SpongeBob?

It's really hard to find a connection between FIM and Spongebob. They're two different shows. I feel that the new Spongebob is really not meant to be taken that seriously, as compared to the older Spongebob. 

 

In terms of FIM, I feel that it's a bit deeper, as the society in MLP runs a lot like that of our human society, which creates connections that we can relate to.

Disagree with all this, I think Pinkie and Spongebob are the most similar, happy-go-lucky most of the time but moments of rational thought and awareness. Twilight is nothing like Spongebob.

I guess I could see some similarity, as they are both flash based shows. However I think that is where it ends, Spongebob is a comedy based show whereas MLP is mostly slice of life. Also spongebob have very little continuity whereas MLP has quite a lot.

I guess, Pinkie Pie would be Spongebob, because of the " Im ready, im ready, im ready " quote from Spongebob ( or whatever he says in the english version ) 

 

Rarity could be Taddäus ( have no idea how his name is spelled actually   ) because both Rarity and him like classic Music and art. I mean making dresses is Art..of some sort. 

 

Twilight would be Sandy, since their both are interested in study things 

But on the other hand, Rainbowdash would also fit as Sandy, because sandy likes the extreme...actually Applejack would fit as well for sandy, since their live both on a range. 

 

And Fluttershy would be...um....no idea

I'd say MLP is more of a slice of life/fantasy, but yeah there are a good chunk of slice of life episodes.

Other than being animated, they're completely different shows, with completely different characters, humor, style, and quality, comparing them would be like putting a potato next to a t-shirt. And that's a good thing, it'd be boring if it was like that.

I'd say MLP is more of a slice of life/fantasy, but yeah there are a good chunk of slice of life episodes.

Keyword MOSTLY, but i digress it does not matter.
