碇 シンジン 27,437 September 18, 2015 Share September 18, 2015 because I think we have enough of male casted shows in the television these days !! i think its precious and beautiful to have such a deep and greatly developled show and story built on almost only female characters and i think it is the strength of this show. While I certainly wouldn't object, and would actually like to see some of the male characters get more development, it's not a necessity. Not all of them are completely shallow though. What about Discord and Spike? Or hey, even the Doctor after slice of life. Really, the only thing that kind of bugs me about male characters in this show is how they often treat Spike as the butt of the joke. He messes up, bad things happen to him, he get's randomly launched into the air by a spring and none of his friends even ask if he's okay, I mean really? No I meant that as in "it doesn't matter how much fanfiction you've made about these characters". And if we were to give all the characters who make minor contributions full screen time then there would be too many characters. They need to keep it to seven in order to keep the series consistent, have unique characters, and keep it easy to follow. No matter how hard I try these ponies will simply never leave me.
