movies/tv What animes and/or cartoons do you dislike the most and why?

Everyone has a show they like and a show they don't like. So, I'm asking what yours are and why! I'm curious to see the different answer I'll get and maybe some surprises, plus its fun!! Plus this topic started from a conversation between friends. There was lots of "BUT ITS REALLY GOOD!!" and a few arguments, but it was all laughs and giggles in the end and that's what matters right? I can't really start this off because, its more of I either lost interest or wasn't interested kinda deal, so I'm not sure if that counts not liking it, but I will try to name one show I don't like.

Gilgamesh- Sat down in the afternoon with my sister watching this anime. It was interesting at first, until we realized the show wasn't going anywhere. Stuff was happening but it almost felt boring and very dull, that might of been because of the color of pretty much everything. I'm not sure about the characters, its been awhile since I've watched it, but I can't seem to recall anything about them. Yeah it was probably a long long time ago, but I still remember the name of the show! I think the only reason for that was because we fell asleep in the middle of it for about an hour. I dislike the show, but it probably wasn't for me anyway, sorry to anyone who likes this show, it was just really boring.

That's about it, I await to see your comments!!

I'm not too crazy over Teen Titans myself. Don't get me wrong, there are still some things that I like about it and there are still some episodes I found to be fantastic, namely How Long is Forever and Haunted. But I've always felt as this isn't as good as was some people make it out to be. The heroes and villains are static and many of the plots follow the typical Monster of the Week formula. Some people say that the heroes do develop, but I just don't see it. It isn't my least favourite cartoon, but I am not too crazy over it. I also can't say too much about Teen Titans Go, as I've never seen it before.

@Alpha-neos, just letting you know that I've moved your thread over to the Media Discussion section since it has to do with cartoons, anime and all that stuff.

It's hard for me to hone in on one because I usually just don't watch shows that don't appeal to me. Suppose the best example I can think of is a show called Oreimo, which I enjoyed moderately at first but then degraded into lackluster harem hijinks. Blah.

Shows i dislike are South Park, ( find it unfunny and sometimes disgusting ) new seasons of the Simpsons ( overused jokes ), Scoobydoo meets Batman ( which is the worst thing of all worst things i ever watched, its the worst...Possible...THING! I mean i cant even describe it, Batman looks completely ugly, the jokes are so..so..lame and the whole thing was a torture for me, because its sooooooooo boring! ) , new seasons of Spongebob, ( are getting more and more disgusting ) Happy Tree Friends ( because its also just disgusting ) and i dislike Highschool of the Dead, since its only a Boobs series. You can say what you want, but i dislike the overuse of boobs, just to get viewers, it just destroys the horror atmosphere for me.And the Ova didnt make any sense.

Then there are shows where im not sure like Hack//Sign, i mean i like the idea, like the art, like the music...but it could include a little bit more action for my tastes

Wow, I wasn't expecting Teen Titans to be the first on here. XD

If you weren't interested in Teen Titans, then expect to not even glance at Teen Titans GO.

Not saying its a bad show, but from what I've watched, I'd say its very different...>__>

Thanks for telling me!

I know what you mean, once everything starts going to harem hijinks territory, the plot stops and you'll be wondering what the heck happened.

I kind of didn't get the appeal of South Park, The Simpsons I just wasn't interested in, Scooby-Doo meets Batman!? When did that happen!? Spongebob, I lost interest afterwards, Happy Tree Friends....eh its okay. Now, Highschool of the Dead, only thing I can say is....what the hell did I just watched!?!? XD Seriously, I that was the most amusing thing I've ever watched, I didn't like it, but I didn't take any of it seriously. so I was laughing most of the time. The OVA was lame, I'm not sure what was even going on.

As for Hack//Sign, I've never seen it, I've seen Hack//Roots though!

Scooby Doo meets Batman was a Two Episode Special, that aired in the 1972 Series " The New Scooby-Doo Movies " from Hannah Barbera.

So it was released right after the 1968 Batman Cartoon series, that was cancelled because parents felt that the violence in the show was to much for the children.Because Comic Adaptions were seen as purely for kids in these days.

So of course that means, that Scooby-Doo mets Batman doesnt have any violence in it...nothing...just boredom, thats what this movie has.  :okiedokielokie:

And i dont even get why Batman also looks so strange and ugly, Hannah Barbera also produced the Super Friends Cartoon and in that Cartoon Batman looks much better, but in the scooby doo crossover...his face just looks weird.

Ugh, talk about SpongeBob going downhill. I can't not watch the newer ones without an inevitable & sentimental disgust at the writing style.

I gotta say that I dislike Attack On TitanScooby Doo, the nowadays Pokemon series, and almost everything on Nickelodian/Cartoon Network.

I was expecting someone on here to say something about Attack On Titan. XD

Scooby-Doo is okay, the one thing that bugs me is most of the movies they come out with, I was fine with them at first, then I watched one that I found really stupid and I was pretty done after that. Is Pokemon even still running as a tv series? I just keep seeing reruns, plus what's even the plot now? o-o

I think most of long running shows are like that nowadays, its kind of weird when you think about it. O____o

Steven Universe and Gravity Falls, though mostly Steven Universe. Mostly because of the 11 year olds on an old forum I was on who were super rude and would never shut up about it. (Nothing against those who like it though!)

Free! Iwatobi Swim Club. Yes, i'm a girl. Yes, I like men. But I don't enjoy all the fan service. That goes for animes that do that with females too. A little bit for humor is fine with me, but excessive amounts bother me. This one stands out because of how popular it is though.

EDIT: AND SOUTH PARK. I knew a girl who read M-preg cow/milking fanfics and I.. I just cant

Oh yeah, I've been watching those shows along with Star VS the Forces of Evil, we like the shows but me and my pals just causally talk about it, be a little boring and annoying if we talked about it 24/7.

11 year olds on a forum? Talking about Steven Universe? ......What are they even doing on a forum??? o__o

FREE! My worst enemy! Nah, I'm kidding, I haven't even watched it, doesn't seem that interesting. There must be a lot of fan service in there, I'm not too keen on fan service sometimes myself. There must be a balance! Otherwise it looks like their shoving cleavage shots and crotch shots in face, while saying "Do you like what you see!?!?".

I don't particularly like Uncle Grandpa. That show is unbearable.

I have a bad feeling about this for some reason....o___o

Pokémon isn't that bad. Just don't watch it during season 8 or 9 (the hoenn region). Those were some crappy seasons.

-Looney Tunes is a snooze-fest.

-Freakazoid is a mess of a show. So much, that it is a nightmare to try to binge watch.

WoteMata-, anime is really depressing for me.

Tiger & Bunny- Another depressing anime cos things seem to go bad for tiger and dislike who give him hard time. (Only seen first episode, and not tend to see another)

Love Hina- Girls there really annoying, feel bad for main male character there.

American Dad- Some sences really offend me and can't stand Roger.

Besides obvious choices like Fanboy & Chum Chum, Teen Titans Go and Breadwinners?

I absolutely detest the anime School Days. One of the worst examples of a bait and switch with a cast of idiotic and unlikable characters and one of the worst and disturbing endings I've ever seen in an anime

High School of the Dead is probably at the top. Outrageously cringeworthy fanservice and the most overused and generic plotline (zombies/zombie apocalypse) ever all combined into one.

I don't usually like casting aside something that other people like, but seriously... Kill this one with fire.

Personally, I was more disturbed by the first half, when half of the time the oversized boobs and panty shots of girls who are supposed to be middle schoolers/high schoolers (I forget which, but point made!) are taking up 75% of the screen.

Hmmm...

I've never really thought about disliking any animes. Usually if I don't like it, I just ignore it. I guess the recent crop of shows like Bleach don't wear well on me. And I can't really place why.

The artwork isn't bad (though it's not terribly original). I'm sure the stories have their merits (though none have grabbed my attention for more than half of an episode)... I guess thats just it. They're not great, but they're not horrible either. They're just middle of the road.

I mean, to each their own. I for one LOVE the Lupin III movies, but a lot of people don't really care for them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I watched School Days a couple of weeks ago, because the DVD artwork depicted a cutesy boy-meets-girl-and-hilarity-ensues scenario. And it... kinda... started out that way, but as the show got darker and darker I was finding myself going "No. No! I don't want to see this!", but I couldn't stop watching. By the end, I was a wreck. So freakin' creepy!

But then a co-worker of mine gave his own rundown of it and how hilariously STUPID the whole thing was. And while I can agree with his take, I still never want to watch it again.

Same as Teen Titans, its different....but I wouldn't say its that bad.

Which starters did the hoenn region have?

Cooly cooly! :D

What? Theres no extreme techniques or dojos? This is an anime we're talking about! XD

Looney Tunes is old but its nostalgic for me.

Freakazoid is....what was freakazoid about again?

I seriously wish I remembered which regions those were. -____-;

If that ending was disturbing, try playing the game the anime is based on and get the bad endings, it'll be waaaaay worse.

And what the main character does is much much worse, lets just be lucky none of that stuff is in the anime or has a sequel.

Personally, I really hate the Stitch! anime because of sheer stupidness and complete out of characterness. Stitch is also my childhood in a nutshell so that might explain my strong feelings of dislike towards it.

Stitch has an anime series?! When did this happen?! Why?!

And is it really that bad?

High School of the Dead is probably at the top. Outrageously cringeworthy fanservice and the most overused and generic plotline (zombies/zombie apocalypse) ever all combined into one.

And all of those things made it the most hilarious anime I've seen, none of that stuff I took seriously from the second episode.

I thought it was going to be serious, until I realized what was happening, still, it was good for a laugh.

Believe me their are worst oversized boobs and panty shots of girls in other anime. Highschool of the Dead and School Days is child's play compared to everything else, and I hope you never come across any of those shows, if you do anyway, well....try not to explode from rage or pure insanity. o-o

The anime for Bleach at least ended well, the manga not sure about, seems like everything is a big mess, but I still love the series.

I haven't watched Lupin III movies yet, but I plan on it.

When I first watched School Days it was after finished watching Higurashi, so it wasn't too shocking but it was very gruesome. Show is okay in my book but not worth watching a second time, I think most people nowadays watch it because of the ending, I think thats how I found it.

Animes:

-Lucky Star

-Gundam Seed

-SOA

-One Piece, Naruto, Bleach... super popular animes... not my thing

-FLCL

-Gudden Lagan (or something like that)

Cartoons:

-Adventure Time

-Clarence

Gasp! You monster! D:

I'm kidding! That's an interesting combination, I think half those shows I like, except for Lucky Star, not that I hate it or anything,

Just really couldn't get pass that opening, also, I just wasn't interested. Looks like a cool anime though!

I do not like Camp Lakebottom because the characters are annoying and there is too much gross out humour. Plus the theme song of the show is annoying and some parts of the show rip off Gravity Falls.

Also that series has too many overused jokes.
