Hi! I'm a girl, and I prefer "brony" over the term "pegasister". What do you think? Can girls be bronies too?

And girls, do you prefer the term "pegasister" or "brony"?

Alot of girls call themselves bronies, and to a lesser extent, some guy call themselves pegasisters, but anyone can be whichever they want to be known as, it's not like there's a law against it :)

You can be whatever you want to be as the title is self appointed and no one can tell you otherwise. If they try and tell you that you can or can not be a brony then they are incorrect and not even worth listening to.

Of course you can, it's just a name.

Also there are plenty of others who call themselves Brony and are Female.

It's a unisex thing :)

Yes. You're more than welcome to call yourself a brony. 'Brony' is a genderless term, anyway. It just happens to be that most FiM fans are men, and 'Pegasister' is a female exclusive term. There's no gender exclusive term for male bronies to split to.

I am a Dudeist priest, so I believe I can provide some insight. In Dudeism, we use the word "dude" to describe both male and females. I think that words like "dude" or, in this case, "brony" should be gender neutral because it creates a sense of equality and implies that, even though we are physically different, we are all the same on the inside.

If they can if they want to be. Some like being called Bronies, some prefer being called Pegasisters(for a plethora of reasons; maybe they don't like the word brony; they may think Pegasisters sounds cuter; etc,). Some may prefer neither and prefer simply being called "fans". It's all up to the individual in the end

Exactly, so Mad Doctor was saying that he can't even imagine a girl being called a brony.

as a joke of course^

he said kappa so it can't be taken seriously

I don't refer to myself as either. Though I don't care which one people choose to call me, I do vastly prefer 'pegasister'. Not for the sound of it, mind you, I think both labels sound silly. Regardless of my preference, I will fucking skin you alive if you say I can't be called a brony because of my gender.

Absolutely, girls are bronies, too! "Brony" is a unisex and age-neutral title and should be treated as such.

I'm a male, but I'll answer this, too. I LOATHE the term "pegasister." Unlike "brony," "pegasister" is conceived to be for female FIM fans only and is based on the misogynist lie that "brony" is male-centric.

I disagree.

I've always seen it as more of a lion-to-lioness sort of thing. A male lion and a female lion are both still lions, but only one is actually lioness.

Of course girls can be bronies, it doesn't matter what gender you are we're all a part of the same fandom and that's what makes this fandom great.

Well, you've heard of one now! :)

Cipher proudly calls herself a brony, too, and is well-known for this. What she said earlier was sarcasm. ^_^
