ooc Mingling in Manehattan (OOC)

Hello everypony, I am new here, but I'd love to jump into RPing.  Most of the RPs going on already are kind of involved so I'm just more comfortable beginning a new one.

I don't have much info about her because I tend to figure out a character as I play them, if that makes sense, so her profile should fill up a bit as I use her.

 

So then, on to the topic at hand.  I'm looking for a few people who are interested in RPing in Manehattan, as the title surely makes plain.  I don't have a plot in mind or anything, it will just be pretty much what it says it is, mingling.  I just want a fun thing to do and Spring Love could use some friends.  The only thing I ask is that people who want to RP with me do their best to use good grammar and post some substance... I've RP'd on a few sites before and many people seem to want to do it with only a sentence or two and next to no punctuation, and that just isn't for me.

The light crept slowly across her face until she could ignore its warmth no longer. It was both emboldening and protective, inviting her to explore what gifts it had blessed upon the world, yet attempting to return her to a peaceful slumber so that she may not gaze upon its cruelty. Opening her eyes slowly to the world around her, she found herself immersed in rich tones almost too vivid to perceive, augmenting everything, diminishing nothing. Such was the effect that she almost did not recognize the griffon with whom she had shared the room. No longer did her coat take on a melancholic hue of blue that was so befitting of her personality. What replaced it was the gleam of the purest sapphire, exuding an air of radiance about her that she most surely would never behold in her waking moments. What visions are these that see fit to grace the world with such ethereal beauty?

 

Curtains fluttering on whispered breath drew her attention from the transformation, and she floated towards the source with a poise not normally assumed by her hooves. The billowing blinds beckoned beguilingly, yet she did not feel unwont to their call. A portentous sight awaited her at the window, a stark contrast to the world within. Though the sky was filled with joyous golds and blazing reds, the ground could not have seemed any less inviting from where she stood. Like everything else, the darkness of the Everfree forest seemed enhanced by the light of the sun. Seemingly innocuous trees produced the most sinister of shadows, stretching across the ground like tendrils threatening to consume all but the brightest of inner-light. She could not shake the feeling of unease until she retreated to the sanctuary of the radiant room.

 

 

 

Laying eyes upon his visage, her initial reaction was of mild shock, though she did her best to hide it. It was an unnecessary effort, for the shock swiftly subsided as his words washed over her. They seemed to hit her so powerfully, crashing down as a wave does upon itself ere it reaches the beach, unable to kiss the sand it had so dutifully traveled to meet. The swirling remnants gave way to an undulating rhythm of emotions, and from the ebb and flow rose naught but the soft sands of compassion.

 

She studied the various contours across his face, wanting to map every hill and valley with intrepid hooves. Markings though they were of some torturous past, she could not help but feel they were something more, something that had carved character into him as much as they had carved pain. They were perhaps as great a strength as they appeared to be flaws, a shield from all but himself. Behind his eyes there was no loathing, no aggression, not even a flicker of doubt. They simply saw without seeing, impervious to the pleasures of life, but easily accepting of its misery. They were the eyes of somepony who had known little of love, having perhaps never received it himself. They were the eyes of the mistreated, the despondent, the forlorn.

 

They were the eyes of somepony in pain.

 

And it was too much for her.

 

A sad smile touched her lips. "Well," she began, internally struggling with the unforeseen enormity of an unspoken promise. "That you can admit that to yourself already makes you a better stallion than you were just yesterday, I should think." She allowed a slight pause in which she could better focus her thoughts. Upon brief introspection, she realized it was thought, ever the ruler of her rational mind, that would not be entirely useful here. This stallion did not need some mare rattling off a list of things to logically correct in his life. He needed support, and she must access that untapped source of feelings to give it. Was that why it so readily flowed now as compassion? All these years of shrugging off unfavourable emotions and experiences...had she been storing them into a convenient bottle for this purpose?

 

She put a hoof on his shoulder. "I cannot promise anything, but if the pain of that truth didn't destroy you, then I feel it is safe to assume nothing from here on out will. Yet I'm afraid I must once again ask too much of you." Removing her hoof from his shoulder, she fixed her gaze upon his and pressed forward with the uncomfortable question she knew she must ask.

I don't know I think you're writing is pretty damn good.  A lot better then mine at least. You use words I didn't even know existed. I tend to use the simple words I do know to their advantage.

Your writing is better than mine by far so of course I'm willing to RP with you!  Aria seems like a great character, I can see you've put a lot of thought into developing her.

Shamrock seems like a nice character too.  She can certainly be in!

Well... I want to get involved in this! With Bright Shine! He's got page yet, so I will have to describe him in short:

 

 

 

Name: Bright Shine.

 

Sex: Stallion.

 

Appearance: Attachment below. Cutie Mark is a happy or sad face, changes with personality. (Multiple personality disorder basically... But is actually more complicated ^^)

 

Personality: One side, he's super happy, loving, peaceful, honest, generous, polite, and pretty much every virtue I can think. If he messed up he'll apologize. But on the other hoof, he can be cruel, nasty, crazy, evil, power hungry, and all that fun stuff o.o, don't want him around and about.

 

Race: Unicorn. Very powerful with magic, but doesn't like to use it in front of others, because he'd feel like he was showing off. The other evil personality would use it to 're-rule' Equestria (like I said, complicated)

 

Backstory: Long ago, Bright Shine lived in a world where Darkness ruled Equestria (name of pony is Darkness...) He turned all lands into sand, gave himself immortality, and made all other ponies slaves... But Bright Shine managed to find a spell to trap him within him. But his magic is there and so his soul... Bright Shine then settled down in a very small village called Coltsmane, and only rarely leaves.

 

Personality Trigger? If you show him anger and violence, he turns evil. Show love and compassion, he returns to normal...
