Not getting fall.

REALLY PRETTY! I live on an island off the coast of Mane, and half of the island is a national park and it is to die for. It does get rather chilly though. Oh and beyond that, the smell of fall is my favorite outdoor smell, reminds me a lot of apple cider and hearty foods.

I live somewhere that is *supposed* to get fall, and guess what? It's supposed to hit near 90 on Sunday. Gr.

They said that September, October, and November were supposed to be BELOW normal in temperatures, and so far that has not been true, at all. It felt cooler in August than this. Granted, that wasn't normal. lol

I noticed that autumn is the only season that comes late where I live. If the weather acted like it did going from Winter to Spring that it does going from Summer to Autumn, I swear we'd be getting snow in May. And regularly. But instead it's already Spring in February.

It's 97 degrees here in California. I feel your pain. California (at least the part I live in) gets 2 seasons. Summer (March-November) and not Summer (December-February).

Here in Ohio it's around 67 degrees Fahrenheit and drops to the 40s/50s at night. It feels really nice out nearly 24/7, chilly but not cold (cold weather > hot weather). It does rain a lot and looks pretty cloudy but I rather enjoy it, we've been getting a lot of haze and fog lately too. Leaves are starting to turn orange finally as well.

Fall is basically what you hear about, chilly weather and orange leaves, that sorta thing.

Either way Fall and Winter are best seasons.

In California we have four seasons: Slightly Cooler Summer, Real Summer, Slightly Winder Summer, and Slightly Cold Summer.
This is my favorite season though, only because it's cool enough for you to wear sweaters.

So, you don't get much fall either?

In the UK we have a maritime temperate climate, so autumn ('fall') is the transition from warm summer with a fair to low amount of rain to a cool winter with a fair to high amount of rain... and it's exactly that, something in between the two. Today was cool (~10 C / 50 F) but sunny, which was nice, but a couple of days ago it was a bit warmer and the rain was absolutely pouring down. It really depends on what weather's blowing our way.

Here in Norway its usually between 6-14 celcius. It rains pretty often and its cloudier than usual.

Oh and when oktober ends it starts snowing A LOT. Then you better prepare a shovel to dig yourself and or your car/bus out.

Also from the 15th of september I belive we are allowed to make campfires, so we can release our inner pyromancers.

In Massachusetts, we get four seasons: Not Winter, Road Construction, Almost Winter and Winter. Right now it's Almost Winter, so temperatures fall, it gets a bit wetter and the trees start changing colors. It's basically like what Sapphire Lightning said.

Imagine this.

You wake up to a coolness in your home, the windows were open all night and there is a crisp smell in the air.

Getting ready for the day you notice out your windows that the wind is blowing, not hard but there is a big enough breeze to shake the leaves on the trees.

After putting on a long sleeve shirt (because it won't be cold enough for a jacket) you leave your home. You step into a world that is clear, no heavy fog or smog. The sky looks just a little bit more blue and the clouds look especially fluffy almost like cotton candy.

You take that first deep breath of fresh morning air and you can smell a mixture of freshly cut grass, the fire pit of your neighbor and his deliciously smokey fire wood. You can faintly hear it crackle and soon you hear the jingle of a dog collar as someone is going for a late morning run. You take a few steps and the sight of your front trees capture your full attention as the vibrant green has disappeared and in it's place is a brilliant mixture of burnt orange, red, yellow, and tan. You feel the wind tickle the back of your neck as you witness it hit the trees and a few leaves gently float down and kiss the grass before continuing their journey to the yard next door.

Just as you start to feel a chill the sun peeks out from behind those cotton candy like clouds and the beam of light sparkles down and greets you with a warm hello.

You begin to take a little walk to get the blood flowing before your day officially starts. As you walk your senses are overloaded with the amount of smells, sights, feelings, sounds of everything around you. You can smell bacon, you know that someone is enjoying a warm breakfast on this crisp day. You can see decorations of corn stalks and scarecrows. You can feel the leaves beneath your feet as they aren't quite crisp enough yet to crunch but they have a gentle texture to them. You can hear laughter as kids are playing before they have to get ready for school.

Everything seems to just slow down and you become part of something different. You are able to really see the world and everything in it.

You make your way back home and instead of that morning cup of coffee that you normally go for, you make a nice hot cup of apple cider. The smell of cinnamon and apple hit your nose and it sends you into a dream state of everything you had just witnessed and felt. It is almost like your entire morning is right there in your mug.

That, that my friend... is what fall is like.

It hurts when you hit your head, JUST KIDDING.

Fall or Autumn in someplaces can be a weird time because sometimes it can get hot or cold.

Somebody (Mark Twain?) said California doesn't have weather, just climate.  You pick the 1 you like & move there & that's pretty much what you get.  He also said the coldest winter he ever endured was 1 July in San Francisco

Hawaii really has no way to discern the difference between seasons other than looking at calendars and how late/early the sun sets/rises.  We don't even get snow or cold temperatures here (except on the top of Mauna Kea).  Regardless of the season, heavy rain happens at random points throughout the year, but lately is seems to happen a bit more in the summer and winter.

Here in Indiana, we usually get fairly nice Fall weather, it is quite lovely. :) The weather gets rather cool, usually in the 60's-low 70's at the most and the nights are very chilly as the season goes on. IT also sometimes is very, very cloudy, especially when a cold front goes through. Fall is one of my favorite seasons along with winter, Indina is not too bad for it, though some years, it can be very temperamental. Cold one week, warm the next. XD

It's very nice outside. Not too hot, not too cold. The trees are beginning to change color, and everything becomes pumpkin flavored!
