Pægan Bronies: Meet, Greet, and Mingle!

Recommended Posts

Saw the thread "Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!" and thought to myself: Ya know what would be awesome? a FOIL!

No shade for the bronies in the thread I'm foiling, much love and respect for all ya'll.

I am defining pægan to be anything outside of the major world religions (aka  Baha'i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism), however I am allowing leniency and subsequently any definition of the word pægan may be used.

I've been reading scared texts from every religion since high school, some that I particularly enjoy include the Poetic Edda and Metu Neter.

Through this. I've been forming and reforming my own understanding of the empyreal as it relates to the physical world. You will notice that is corresponds to modern physics in a few areas.

As it stands now I see that there is no separation between a system and it's surroundings, much like the lack of distinction between where ripples in the water end, and where the rest of the river beings. Upon death our consciousness and bodies are recycled, embodying new forms akin to what can be called a past or future life depending on how time flows for the observer. Religiously significant icons are representations of physical phenomena that we can and cannot observe, such as the static and dynamic states of the universe represented in Yin and Yang.

Thoughts and intentions have power, the vibrations of your heart and mind affect the universe like a stone thrown into a pond: the pond is already rippling, but the cast stone creates a new pattern and it's own ripple. Magick is the intentional manipulation of this energy field to achieve a desired result.

The Supreme Energy is something beyond comprehension which is a part of and more than the universe, but due to the holographic-fractal nature of information this Godhead is possible to obtain.

I, personally am an atheistic Wiccan.  I don't believe in any gods or goddesses, but I was brought up loosely Wiccan.  From time to time, I read tarot cards (for myself only) and get my family to interpret the readings sometimes while also being available to interpret their readings for them.  I rarely practice magick, most of it simply being cleansing rituals to rid a place of ill will/negative energy.

The main aspect I actively practice is the one rule, "If it harm none, do as ye will."  I do my best not to judge others or cause them any harm for any reason.  Obviously, being human, I do not always succeed at this, but I do try and that has always been what I live by.  There is too much hate and negativity in this world as it is.

I'm gonna follow this topic. I've heard about some of these things before but never really followed up on any of it. Personally I like the idea of spiritually but i'm severely against the more organized big religions out there, mostly because most of them are not sending the right messages out and a good few do not practice what they preach and just further make a mockery of their faith.

Well, I guess I could be considered Pægan, but ot would be a bit of a stretch. I'll explain why.

First of all, I need to point out I have all the needed sacraments in the Roman Catholic Church, because Poland, and I wanted to have all the papers in order because they might be important in the future. You know, if I ever married and the like. So statistically I'm counted as a Catholic even though I come to the church on weddings and burials, and just because I'm expected to.

Now back to the topic. A few years back I came up with the idea that maybe there actually is something more out there (back then I thought myself an atheist), and embarked on a quest to read lots of occult and esoteric material, usually in original old English (I've found a huge online library with piles of very dusty books). Ater a year of reading on various spiritual topics, I devised a more or less complete theory witch serves me up to this day. After crossreading medieval gromoires, Aleister Crowley, Israel Regardie, H.P Blavatsky and many others I finally believed in something.

I've also made extensive research into the topic of magick, but decided to suspend any practices untill I move out to my own place. Due to weak focus I might need to use a large toolset.

So yeah, I think I could be considered a "sleeping" Pægan, as if sleeping agent. Once my circumstances allow it, I'll probably go active. Untill then, theory must suffice.

Honestly, 'ah have no idea Sugarcube.

I mean, they're parodies, and this thread was supposed to cover people's sincere beliefs, so not really. But then, if someone really believes in it, then it should be accepted.

Guess we'll have to ask OP.

Since you claim to invent a religion, how is it different form Warhammer canon, exactly? Slaaneshi cults are very well described in the lore. Also, Slaanesh won't be born untill the Fall of Eldar, while Tzeentsch, Khorne and Nurgle are already alive and kicking.

Slaanesh shall take the form of a minor entity in the warp from my worship before the Eldar fall! HE SHALL RISE! But really tho, it is different in the sense that I adapted it to exist in a world where Slaanesh doesn't exist as in Warhammer, doesn't follow the standard cult worship, and actually has meaning. I could explain but only upon request.

Ok, I had to check if you're serious. I hope it wasn't too insensitive of me, and I'm sorry if it was. There are many Chaos cultist wannabees out there, and honestly I have no patience for them. You seem sincere about your dedication to your aspect of the Prince of Excess, though. Good luck with aiding Him in attaining the first steps to Godhood.

Oh, and there's no need to go in detail with your beliefs in here. Most of the time our belief systems are simply untranslateable to other people. That, and I'm not form the Ordo Hereticus of the Inquisition, and so I see no reason to inspect people's Faith.

My favourite Chaos God is Nocoho, Choas God of Atheism.

He manifests as  a bald grinning man who trolls priests and other people of faith. Naturally he has very few followers.  XD

I'd say I'm an eclectic pagan witch, though those wee very broad terms.

Not. Wiccan.

I don't really want to go into detail, because spirituality is different for every one and I'm still learning about mine.

-but I deal with ghosts, tarot, gems, herbs, nature, spells, you know.

I can't meditate enough to hedge walk often, lol. Since spirits are involved in most of what I do, I should try again with a flying ointment- I haven't tried yet. What do you do with your flying ointment?

Good thing you're not Ordo Hereticus. Around here, we do the burning. Jokes aside, thanks. Sometimes it sounds stupid trying to make a religion from a game viable in real life, so my belief is actually translatable to others. (Had to summarize it and simplify it for those special ones) For the most part I don't believe in any traditional deity and am pretty secular.

I'd consider myself very pagan in my beliefs, but mostly to a "poly-atheistic Neo-Germanic paganism" angle (Say that five times fast).

I grew up on stories of the old Norse Sagas, and old classics and mythology, so I've been familiar with the old gods for too long that one day, I started seeing how they could be more real than my family's Baptist faith. Regarding the atheistic part, I see the gods as more of an explanation of a force, though, so while I'll address Þor, it's more like "oh, force of aggressive protection, the very power of Man's fight with Nature" than some higher being with a hammer. We just interpret it that way to better explain and sympathize(?).

Actually, such belief - that Gods portrayed as individuals should be regarded as highly symbolic "avatars" (I couldn't find a better word, and I realize it's not the best fit) of particular emotions, stances, virtues and so on - is rather prevalent in more modern spiritual writings I've read. The personified gods are easier to explain to other people, and giving them specific personalities, backstories and signature posessions makes it easier to relate to them, much like other living people. Some historians argue that Egyptian gods weren't worshipped as "people with animal heads", but rather as personified sets of traits. Animal heads and special posessions were just symbols. Personally, I tend to agree with this view.

I haven't used it for anything other than to communicate with the plants that I made the ointment from as of this moment. I intend on using it later to connect more with Brother Hawk. the ointment should allow me to take the form of an animal, after which I intend to deepen our bonds and fly with Him.
