My family, Though it would pain me to watch them pass on when I can't, it would be an honor to watch over them through the centuries, as I would for all of the earths creatures. I'd say that it would only be worth it if you have a specific desire that can only be carried out if you were immortal. So I'd choose friends, for better or for worse. I would rather be with my friends for the rest of my life than to be alone forever. HOWEVER, if your friends are immortal, then it wouldn't be that hard to pick. In my opinion, every thing in the known universe changes, everything is different after a certain time and i mean everything: rocks, plants, galaxies, even feelings and thoughts, as we grow, we grow stronger physicaly and mentaly as time passes. But at one point we found ourselves at a moment when time stops, and all our understanding about life it`s used. At this time we still don`t know the true meaning of life everyone has one, maybe some have the same one, but when our time stops there is only one meaning of life that we either knew it from the begining or we will find it then. If I am immortal I can be a marker for mankind, I can hold truths for many generations and have tales to share. Life might get redundant without sufficient entertainment though, like virtual reality n stuff. But if I applied myself, specialized, I could get better and better for generations. This is assuming I'm always at my peak though, cognitively and health wise, and I cannot die from accidents or viruses etc too. People might try to kidnap me or etc, but I would be important to the country I reside in they wouldn't just leave me to be tortured for years if they could. It'd be like desecrating a wonder of the world. They wouldn't tolerate it. Plus imagine all the good I could do for science to help improve quality of life for everyone. And if the sun explodes in 4 billion years and I survive, I can just spend the time napping and daydreaming, who cares lol. But hopefully way before then I go to other planets n stuff. Many curiosities to explore and see. Time repeats some say, but thats because they didn't take into account technological advancements. Nothing will be the same, each year.
