cmarston1 5,964 November 18, 2015 Share November 18, 2015 I hope that he and Lightning Dust return. It could make for an interesting episode. Could be hinting at a season 6 episode or the tweet was just messing with us. Probably the later.
Unlikeable Pony 2,700 November 18, 2015 Share November 18, 2015 I hope so. but I'm not holding my breath, Big jim tends to make alot of troll responses based on what fans want without actually ever intending to follow up on them. (Like he said to one twitter "Oh yeah, Spike will be awesome when he grows up!" (paraphrased of course) and then responded to the fan being excited with a "But that's not a promise in any way shape or form" So I think he posted that tweet since TONS of fans were connecting LD and WW after it aired, but they don't have any real plans to make an episode with the two in S6. Maybe in S7 if the show gets greenlit to continue, but I don't think there's anything down the pipe at the moment. ESPECIALLY since they already have a "Lightning dust tries to get revenge" plot for her in the comics, and the show creators have a very clear policy of telling the comic writers no if they're planning on doing a plotline in the future, which implies they had zero plans for her up till recently.

Mm, that paraphrasing isn't really accurate. I really don't think Jim is a troll (Larson, on the other hand...) J. Brony 313 November 18, 2015 Share November 18, 2015 Even if these two never team up during the show, it's still an awesome idea. I, for one, hope that Jim Miller wasn't just yanking our chains and this episode is somewhere in the planning stages for season 6.

Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 This is the best possible idea for the return of Lightning Dust in my opinion. LD came off to me as a sort of generic character so her returning was never much of a thing to me, but her teaming up with Wind Rider would be awesome. Maybe he coaches her and a few new characters in a contest against the Wonderbolts. Then shenanigans ensue. Redeem me into childhood. Show me myself without a shell. Unlikeable Pony 2,700 November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 Got to wonder why Wind Rider doesn't get any fan love when there is fan love to equally bad characters. His design is probably a big thing. he's decent looking, but he lacks that pizzazz that moves characters into the limelight. Like for example, design and personalitywise Trixie is a fan favorite because she's really hammy and looks good too. Wind rider is okay, but he's not THAT incredible. The mane reason people seem to like him is more that he'd be a great accomplish or relation to lightning dust, another more popular character. Maybe Wind Rider is LD's old mentor... J. Brony 313 November 19, 2015 Share November 19, 2015 I actually like Wind Rider as a villain because he's a dude though. For one thing, being an older male, it makes it a little harder for the Mane 6 to relate to him, them being young females after all. It's not like any of them will be able to guilt-trip him into admitting that he was wrong and apologize for what he did. Wind Rider seems like he'd be too stubborn and prideful for that. And that would make him one of the few villains they've encountered who wouldn't reform. I can see Lightning Dust playing along with Wind Rider and then realizing that sh'e been wrong and then turn against him. But I doubt WR would recant even after losing his partner-in-crime. He'd probably just fly off, yelling that the Mane 6 hadn't seen the last of him or some other equally cliche villain speech while LD weeps and indulges in a group hug with Rainbow Dash and her friends. I like to think that Wind Rider was a nice guy in his prime, but became who he is now with age because he was so worried that someone would break his record. immblueversion 331 August 29, 2016 Share August 29, 2016 (edited) Ever since a Wonderbolt episode involving Twilight was confirmed at SDCC, I've wanted to believe this will be the episode where Jim's "Anti-Wonderbolt" tease becomes a reality. We can deduce that this will be Twilight and Rainbow Dash's turn to be called by the map this season, since we already had Pinkie Pie & Rarity, Applejack & Fluttershy will happen in a couple of weeks, and none of the other leaked episode titles fit better than "Top Bolt". What better opportunity for Wind Rider and Lightning Dust to go around stirring up trouble that the map wants our duo to fix? immblueversion 331 August 31, 2016 Share August 31, 2016 Foreshadowing much ? Or it is just a joke? Either way, we'll find out almost at the end of this season Sadly, I found something that drastically lowers the odds of this happening. Turns out there's an official activity book called "The Wonderbolts Quest" that gives a whole summary of the episode "Top Bolt". I haven't read the whole thing, but neither Wind Rider nor Lightning Dust are anywhere to be mentioned in it.

I haven't read the whole thing, but neither Wind Rider nor Lightning Dust are anywhere to be mentioned in it. BOOO. Well, there's always S6; and going to be honest, thinking about it, I kind of wouldn't want Wind rider and LD to be shackled by a "check it off the list" map episode. What I mean here is that the 3 map episodes this season probably have zero real purpose behind them: Pinkie and rarity's was just about helping a curry joint, and AJ and pinkies is just about them running into flim and flam. There's no real punch behind these episodes for the map episodes, and I doubt they want to make RD and Twilight's map episode an outlier with some real purpose behind it, which I would want to see done in a Lightning dust episode. What I'm saying is, I want Lightning dust and wind rider returning to MEAN something, to have some real pizazz and thought behind their next appearance, some real conflict; The map episodes, apart from the very first one in the cutie mark map, have been basically just glorified WOW daily quests, and I think that if they tried to tie Lightning dust or wind rider to the map, it would probably end up making their return episode suffer for it. I'm not saying I've disliked the map episodes: they're decently enjoyable slice of life, but they're not really benefiting from the map's involvement in these episodes either.
