Seriously Starlight Glimmer's backstory was terrible. But if the CMC accompanied Twilight over there it would of made more sense because Starlight's fear of cutie marks ruining friendships was one of the concerns of the CMCs, they are the ones with the solution to solve her anguish. The CMCs also earned their cutie marks at the same time like the mane six.

 

This should of been the CMC's episodes. There's also the disastrous events that would occur if cutie marks are not earned.

 

Hell this would of been another good opportunity to have the CMC accidentally be sent to the future where they see themselves as adults or something.

The CMC are still only supporting roles. I don't think the writers would want to give such a season finale to them rather than the mane 6. However, if this hadn't been a finale episode, they would be perfect for the task, agreed.
