Does Babs Seed count as a redeemed character?

So I've been noticing recently a decent amount of topics discussing redeemed characters in the show and noticed that most of them tend to forget about Babs Seed.  I mean she fits the bill for a redeemed villain/antagonist in terms of what her character does and goes through, but it's all within the course of the episode in which she was introduced.

So do you count Babs as a redeemed character within the show or do you consider her something else?

Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.

I consider her a character that sorta lost her way, but with how short of a time that she was 'bad' I don't think she was ever bad hearted, just influenced to be bad, which why I think she snapped out of it so easily.

Hmm... good question.

I usually think of reformed villains as being evil/bad from the very first time we see them, so since Babs wasn't necessarily mean at first (just shy and worried about being made fun of), I wouldn't consider her redeemed/reformed... just a good pony that was temporarily lost. But that's just me, and she could totally be classified as redeemed/reformed too. :P

Her entire character arc took only one episode, so I don't think people really consider her a villain that was redeemed. She's just a filly who was a jerk for a couple of days before going back to her natural self.

I wouldn't say she was "redeemed", so to speak. Babs was really only acting like a jerk out of a desperate attempt to avoid being bullied like she was back in Manehattan, think "if you can't beat em..." kind of mentality. She was more pretending to be mean than any malicious, so she was less redeemed and more just convinced to stop being something she wasn't.

I would consider her a redeemed character because she learned her lesson (even if many things were mishandled through the entire episode in my opinion) and has seemingly moved forward to become a better pony who's grasped the difference between right and wrong. Much like Trixie and Gilda

I wouldn't consider her a "reformed character" though, because she never really changed. She simply dropped her "bully act" and learned what she did was wrong.

I don't really consider her to be 'redeemed' because unlike actual villains of the show she was never evil, just insecure. She had no evil motives at any time even though she was bullying the CMC. In short, I truly consider Babs to be a good pony doing bad things out of insecurity, rather than a villain.

Babs Seed was probably one of the first of these reformations, but most of us forget about her, because frankly, she is a forgettable character. She has very little bearing on the show. Her entire arc was in one episode, and a Very Special Episode at that, and controversial because of the way it simplified such a broad and complex issue as bullying. She only appears in a couple of episodes after that and gets her cutie mark off-screen. As a New Yorker all my life, I also can't stand how forced her accent sounds.

Her lashing out at the CMC was about as bad as Trixi's ego, who is considered a villain, so she probably qualifies as being redeemed. Though, it was more of a Heel-Face Turn, since the CMC didn't redeem her; they attempted to assassinate her.

Yes. Also, Babs didn't really get a lot of time to be an antagonist. She started out nice, and was really just following Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon's lead, so she really wasn't doing anything on her own as an anagonist, just trying to avoid the fire of our two already established antagonists.
