Given your signature, how fluent are you in Japanese?

Hi there! ^^

I'm still not fluent yet due to lack of consistency, but I can hold a general conversation with a few blunders, haha. ^^ I'm much better at writing than speaking, though. ^^

What inspires you?

Woah -- that is a big question :o Well, without being too lengthy, what inspires me in every aspect of my life is the desire to become the greatest me I can be. The desire to reach my fullest potential is a driving force in my life; and also one of my greatest frustrations. Any talents I have, I see as gifts from God; which is probably why talents are often called gifts. When it comes to art, I find seeing or reading other people's work very inspiring. At one point, I would have let it discourage me, but we're all on a journey in life and learning to appreciate where other people are is a part of improving yourself. :)

An instrument for making sandwiches delicious? Hell(o kitty) yes!

And that would be this one :3

This is my heart in song, haha. It's one of my favorites. ^^

Was being home schooled a decision you made or your parents, and why did you/they choose that over the public education system?

What do you usually think about when waking up?

Hmm, honestly, I don't know. :ooh: I never thought about what I think about when I first wake up, haha. Give me a few days and I'll get back to you on that ;)

Was being home schooled a decision you made or your parents, and why did you/they choose that over the public education system?

Awesome question! There's a story behind this so...Story time!

When I was around six years old, I was diagnosed with stage for cancer of the kidney. Due to the chemotherapy, my immune system was too weak to be in a school environment. My parents took me out of school and I was taught at home by a private teacher. However, the work I was being given was too easy for me and the teacher couldn't change the curriculum. My mom complained about it to a friend and they recommended homeschooling. That's how it started for me. :)

There was a short stint where I spent about a year back in private school for 5th grade, because my mom had to work outside the home. Long story (not so) short, when she quit her job and asked my brother and I if we wanted to stay at the school, we both jumped at the opportunity to be back home. Since then, we were always given the option to go back to regular school if we chose. But neither of us did.

The reason why my parents and I chose homeschooling is because it allows you to learn at your own pace. It gives you the room to discover and pursue your passions and interests. If it weren't for homeschooling, I probably wouldn't have discovered my love for Japanese or started college at 15. With the public school system, everything is teach to the test -- cookie cutter. Homeschooling provides the freedom to be unapologetically who you are without the pressures of a system and peer pressure. In other words, you don't have to fight to be you.

Wow, I wrote a lot. (I'm sorry, lol.) :o

What is the best literature you've read?

Oh boy, that's tough. :wau: Let's break this into fiction and non-fiction. For fiction, I would say the best that I've read so far would be 1984. As cliche as that answer is, it is one of the most thought provoking fictional stories that I've read. That and a little known book called Anthem by Ayn Rand. I love books that make me ponder life and reality deeply. :3 As for non-fiction, that would undoubtedly be the Bible. Another cliche, lol. But it's taught me more life lessons than anything else and is the blue print by which I order my life. I know some people believe it's fiction, but I don't. :3

Do you like horses of a small breed, especially those whose height at the withers is below 14 hands 2 inches (58 inches)?

Of course! Do they also happen to come in an assortment of unnatural bright colors and are sentient beings?

That answer describes my dislike for the school system we have almost to a tee, made me want to cry a little and re-evaluate my life! Then you wrote:

Awh x3 I don't think I'm awesome, but thank you, haha

The runner ups in second and third place respectively would have to go to Bob's Burgers and The Office. ^_^ These shows are so quirky and weird, yet strangely lovable and addicting. I took a minute to warm up to Bob's Burgers, but it takes second for having lovably odd characters and I'm a sucker for dysfunctional family comedies. And The Office takes such a seemingly mundane setting as an office of employees and somehow turns it into a soap opera-like story of awkwardly funny proportions. It's hard to explain

What is yer absolute most favourite thing to do, ever?

I would say that having fun with family and friends is my absolute favorite thing to do. ^^ Growing up, my house used to always be filled with family and friends eating, laughing, watching movies, playing dominoes and Scrabble. Those were some of my most fondest memories. :3 Nowadays, things aren't exactly the same in that respect, but it still brings me joy to have fun with my friends online and immediate family. Having fun with people is one of the things that makes my day brighter. ^^

Ah, an Undertale reference. ^_^ Indeed, I have, haha. To me, life is synonymous with learning -- so I've learned a lot and I hope to learn a lot more. :3 This thread, in fact, has taught me a little bit about myself, because I never thought to ask myself these questions, haha.

What do you usually think about when waking up?

I finally have an answer to your question, haha. ^_^ I wake up with worries. Worries about family; worries about college; worries about writing projects etc. Yeah, it turns out, I'm a bit of a worry wart in the morning and I didn't even know this, lol. I'm gonna have to change that. Gotta start the day on a positive note. ;)

You are stuck on an elevator with someone. Would you rather it be a grumpy old man with three wet dogs or a mom with a screaming kid?

Oh gosh...^_^ Okay, let's see here. After awhile the three dogs are going to become dry, but the grumpy old man will likely stay grumpy and annoying. On the other hand, the screaming kid will be hell for a couple of hours, but he/she will eventually go to sleep (I hope, lol). So, I'm gonna say the mom with her a screaming kid.

How do you learn to speak so good japanese?

Was you ever in japan?

No, I've never set foot in Japan -- though I hope to in the next couple of years. ^^ I'm not fluent yet, but I got to my level of language proficiency though dedication, persistence, and practice. There really is no getting around it, haha. ^_^ As with anything that has a steep learning curve, it takes time. You build upon new skills like a building blocks, one after the other. For me, I learned through self study and I took advantage of a lot of free online resources before ever paying. There really is nothing that you can't learn for free on the internet. ^^ If you want a list of resources, let me know!
