VS

sig-4413474.sig-4413474.an0gnr.jpg

An Empire Drone discovers Equestria. Sensing a disturbance in the force, Darth Vader travels there to investigate. His ship lands a outside of Ponyville, a few yards from the spot where Twilight just happened to be reading a book on the grass.

Vader is from Return of the Jedi with Star Wars Canon feats. Twilight is in alicorn form, from the end of season 5 with show and comic feats. Both start 15 meters from each other and may speak to each other before and during the fight. Morals on.

ROUND 1

Darth Vader is oblivious to Magic and Twilight has no idea what the Force is.

ROUND 2

Twilight is given access to books about the Force and the Sith and she has 1 day to study and prepare.

The rest of the Mane 6 and Spike are there to cheer her on, but they can't interfere in the fight.

Can the Princess of Friendship overcome the Dark Lord of the Sith?

if it wasn't for the force I would say twilight, but vader's ability to use the force tips the scales to an even match.

I thought we were done with the impractical and nonsensical match-ups?

My money's on the Sith Lord

There is always an inherent problem when doing debates like this, and that relates to comparing the inherent power of one fictional universe with that of another. As such saying that Darth Vader's knowledge and ability with the force is better, worse, or equal to Twilight's alicorn abilities and deep knowledge of magic is questionable. It can be easy to make assumptions based on canon info, but I whether or not it would be truly accurate is another question.

Saying that, like Luna vs Alduin before this, it should be a fun show. :P

This is a surprisingly tough match up. Vader has the Force which as we all know is immensely powerful and his skills with a lightsaber could prove threatening, in offensive and defensive ways. Twilight is very agile and of course her abilities in magic are immense, but it depends on how she would use it. Would she go all out like with Tirek or would she show restraint? Definitely a battle that would be intense.

Depends on whether or not magic can do anything against the force and whether or not a light saber can deflect magic. I'd hope for Twilight to win, but I highly doubt she could fight against the Force.

One big thing to note here in this mu is that the force users and feats from the EU have been rendered non canon so the force just got a hell of a lot weaker than what they were before.

Twilight defeated Tirek

She can beat a random guy wearing a black helmet.

Twilight had the powers of all the Alicorn magic in her and she technically didn't beat him, she just stalemated him. It took her and her friends being bestowed by the Tree of Harmony with Rainbow Power to beat him.

So here are the list of powers I could think of for Twilight at the moment:

Twilight Sparkle:

Flight (both using wings or telekinisis)

Magic energy laser blasts

Telekinisis

Dark Magic

Teleportation (including Telefrag and can cast teleportation spell upon the opponent)

Spatial manipulation (Floortilting)

Mind Control (Want Me, Need it and Reforming Spell)

Magic Barrier

Age manipulation (If what Twilight says is true that only the highest leveled unicorn can pull it off, it's a possibility that she can do an Age Spell now that she's an Alicorn)

Speed: Power scaling from Rainbow Dash being able to dodge multiple lightning strikes, a pony she has caught mid flight with her magic, her reaction speed should be at least a lightning timer. Her flight speed is likely around hypersonic at least.

Destructive Capacity: Likely building+ as a Unicorn Twilight was able to lift a watertower full of cow's milk and a burst of her magic was able to lift her whole library tree home up from the ground. As an Alicorn, she should be above that.

Lifting Strength: Building+ with telekinisis

Striking Strength: about the same as Lifting strength.

Durability: Building+

Intelligence: Highly booksmart intelligent. Has shown against Trixie with Alicorn Amulet that she is very pro efficient with prep time given to her.

This is probably not correct or so, but these are the abilities and stats I believe Twilight should have from my recollection from the show. If there's anything to add or contradict my info, please correct me as such.

Probably Vader. Especially if it were the Vader from Star Wars Rebels (great show by the way), he's pretty much an unstoppable machine in that series. I think his incredible abilities with the force would give him the edge.

Twilight can fly. so she could just fly out of vaders force range and shoot him with unicorn magic.

Regarding Vader's force range. Choked a guy while only seeing him on a television. Not saying that Twilight can't avoid it necessarily.

Don't forget Twilight's more hax spells like the Want it Need it spell.

She doesn't even need to cast it on someone, she just has to cast it on an object, and if anyone looks at it they become obsessed with it.

They're both immensely powerful in their own way. Agility and wit will determine this fight.

Twilight Sparkle all the way!

Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Sunset Shimmer are best ponies.

The Force is something that exists exclusively in the Star Wars universe.  Within its context of origin, it strikes me as an omnipresent energy that's tapped into by sensitive individuals and sometimes wielded to great effect; despite the implication, at times, that The Force is somewhat sentient and employs a vast, incomprehensible series of self-checks and balances.

I say that Darth Vader, cut off from the very energy from which he derives his abilities, is reduced to an asthmatic robot who goes around impotently squeezing his fingers together without effect.

Vader: What the fuck is this?

Twilight: - What the fudge is this?

Vader: - Did you say fudge?

Twilight: - I'm rated TV-Y... I can't swear.

Vader: - Well, that's just pathetic.

Twilight: - Don't say that! I'll .... I'll...

Vader: - What?

Twilight: - I can't punch you either.

Vader: - What can you do?

Twilght: - I can blast you with magic!

Vader: - But that doesn't make any-AAARGH! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

Aye which I consider a sort of mind control spell for her.

Good point with Vader's range with his telekinetic attack. That's a major advantage for him with his attack range. I wonder her breaking Discord's hold on her friends in Return of Harmony can count as a feat of resistance against telekinesis.

My mistake, misread your post.

I think it does, yes. Unless she simply negated the magic with her own magic instead of breaking the TK.

Darth Vader's TK is immensely powerful. Starkiller (from Force Unleashed) could make a Star Destroyer crash onto the planet he was on. Darth Vader is stronger with the force than him so he most likely has ridiculous capabilities with Telekinesis. Twilight however was able to move the freaking moon and the sun, albeit with great effort and without much finesse. I'd say Twilight outclasses Vader in raw telekinetic strength.

This matchup setting puts Equestria in the Star Wars galaxy so midichlorians are present. Even if there wasn't, Vader could probably still use the force. I think to make him unable to use the force you would have to remove the midichlorians from his blood somehow.

Is Force Unleashed still canon? I know the EU and stuff got retconned and from what I've heard, when the culling began, only the movies and the Clone War cgi series remained.

Yes, you are right, Force Unleashed is non canon now. Haha. Let's assume now this is Legends (EU) Vader. Edited OP.
