Are they getting rid of Ponyville in season 6?

We're 5 episodes synopses in, and no indication of Ponyville appearing in any of them. Maybe the CMC episode will take place there, but could they be doing away with Ponyville for this season?

Um...How? How would they do away with Ponyville? It's where they all live, they can't just "Make it go away", that wouldn't make any sense.

 

 Just because Ponyville isn't specifically mentioned in any of the episode synopses doesn't mean it doesn't take place there, the episodes that don't specifically mention any place will probably take place in ponyville, since it's sort of the "Default" setting.

They are bringing it up in their facebook updates so I severely doubt that there will be a lack of the show's central location.

And second the theme of this season is "exploring equestria" so they could be spending more time outside of ponyville this season.

Whenever I see theories like these I get the feeling I'm entirely uninformed or something. Still, based solely on the synopses of the episodes I don't think it's possible to conclude that the show is somehow getting rid of Ponyville. Even though the theme of the season is apparently 'exploring Equestria' (this thread is the first time I've heard of that, but I don't keep up with ED so I'll take people's word for it...) that doesn't mean Ponyville won't be featured at all since the exploration part might well come from the map.

 

...I can already see how the fanfic I'm writing is going to suffer for every location they visit, since none of them will exist there...

That was my first thought too! I haven't seen any of them past the first two episodes!

 

As far as the original post, I would probably have to agree with the others that even though it isn't specifically mention, the episodes will probably be based in Ponyville unless other specifically mentioned.

Just because they're not having all the episodes take place in ponyville doesn't mean they're getting rid of it XD

I mean the characters still live there and there will no doubt be a few episodes there this season. Just the Toy theme is "Explore equestria". You kind of expect them to, you know, EXPLORE EQUESTRIA in that line XD

They probably aren't getting rid of Ponyville entirely. Yes, the theme suggests that the season will take place outside of Ponyville a lot, but that doesn't automatically mean that they will never spend time in Ponyville. Heck, one of the upcoming episodes is a CMC episode and it doesn't suggest them leaving Ponyville.

This year's toy theme seems to be "explore Equestria", so I suspect you'll see a lot of other locations this year. I really doubt they'll do anything so dramatic as dropping the bomb on Ponyville, though. Some fans are still shell-shocked about Twilight's library.

 

I just hope they go to Vanhoover, but I might be biased.

I wouldn't mind it but from the facebook feed again, we've seen Manehattan and I think another familiar place. I just hope they'll show us new locations instead of the same old ones.

Considering that Ponyville is where most of the main characters live, they don't really need to mention Ponyville in any synopsis. It is pretty obvious that Ponyville will be involved pretty much constantly, because again, the main characters live there.

I am pretty sure that Ponyville is not going to go away anytime soon.

The theme of explore equestria will probably just allow for the mane 6 to actually travel to locations other than Ponyville more than they have done in a typical season.

Ponyville has been around since the 1st season. It's probably the last place that the writers would think of if they had to get rid of a location. With the whole world building and "Explore Equestria" theme that they have going on for Season 6, I think it's safe to say that Ponyville won't be the main focus where they will tell stories.

 

I love me some Ponyville and all, but I think it's time we get to see other unexplored areas of Equestria. The possibilities are endless my friend
