Spike and Starlight's friendship

The Crystalling did so many things right, but one of them done the best was the friendship between Starlight and Spike. Everything about it felt very organic. Starlight's nervousness and attempts to diverge, Spike's treatment of her as a friend and equal, Spike's attempt to reconcile her and Sunburst's friendship, and the competence and intelligence from them. They share an appreciation for each other that makes so much sense, including a sense of despair when they (especially Starlight) felt down. When Starlight believed Sunburst wanted nothing to do with her, Spike was the anchor to cheer her up and reassure her someone trusts her and believes in her.

 

I don't know if it'll be expanded in future episodes, but their friendship is a gold mine because it works so, so well. Anyone else wish for more of this friendship in the future?

It mirrors Spike and Twi's dynamic. Season 1 vibes, with Spike being the one to convince Twi to make friends, in spite of her reluctance to-even to the point of ignoring them from her mentor, or finding loopholes, (Focusing on checking in on Summer Sun celebration preparations, rather than making friends), and keeping Starlight focused, like he did with Twi.

I know people are comparing Starlight to Sunset Shimmer, but she's a lot like season 1 Twi, at this point.
