Anypony konw of any? The two that come to mind are MW2's No Russian and Mass Effects Gay Characters. Both of these things i was nott bothered by at all due to the fact that i am a big advocate of gay rights and as for No Russian, i think its so hypocritical that hollywood have been making movie scenes like this for years and its considered ok but when Video games do it its just sooooo wrong?

Edit: GTA SA: Hot coffee mod- also blown WAAAAAAY out of proportion. Why is it ok to bang people in God of war, but forbidden in the code of GTA SA?

I agree completely.

Mass Effect's sex scenes aren't even close to as explicit as what you see on TV or movies all the time. I've seen many PG-13 movies with much more inappropriate content than Mass Effect

Manhunt lol.

Another game that wasnt really all that bad. It was a slow brutal game with terrible graphics- Everyone was so upset by this, but what about condemned or dead space?

People just want to whine and complain. it wasn't that bad. But perhaps if the graphics were better it'd be slightly more understandable.

MLP Forums: The Video Game

Major controversy when Feld0 is given god-like 100 OVERALL status. The outcry is so substantial that the developers release a patch to nerf Feld0 to 97 OVERALL. Personal controversy when I, Doctor XFizzle, only receive 91 OVERALL and my name is misspelled as Doctor XFizzel

Mass effect is also one of the first games that comes to my mind that encourages an honest view of sexuality and relationships. The sex scenes are not graphic in any way and you can easily see more graphic sexuality on prime time telivision. I will not go into my views on the censored views of sex in this country which are quite rediulous

I think the difference is that for MW2 it's you whose doing the shooting in the scenes instead of just watching it. I don't know about Mass Effect but to be honest I wouldn't want that kind of stuff in my games either - in fact, I don't need to see that close of intimacy between any two characters ever whether they be in movies or games or whatever. Ever.

Anyway, it's really not that uncommon to find small controversial things in games. Even in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time - the original mirror shield design and the giant blocks you moved around all had the Muslim Star symbol on them but were replaced in later versions with a sort of weird hourglass looking symbol because the Gerudo/Muslim connection was found offensive or disrespectful to some.

And by the way, there's no reason to get all upset and start cussing over this

Things overblown by the media and paranoid lawyers with the sole objective of creating drama. As you can see, it's all overblown to proportion. Not much to say here except that most people who play video games are responsible enough to play them safely. Even if there were "bans" on video games, millions of people around the world would still find ways to get past that, as obvious this may sound.

While it's true that video games have caused people to do certain things, it's only a demented small part of the population and the "majority" nor the video games themselves should be held accountable for one man's controversial actions, because after all there's always going to be someone from anywhere committing stupid actions because of whatever it is they've been influenced by. So no; video games themselves are not controversial just because the fucking media says it is so. Personally, I seriously won't be able to believe a news article claiming that one guy shot another guy because "Grand Theft Auto drove him to do stupid shit". No, the dumbshit brought THAT upon on himself and chose to duke out those driven emotions irresponsibly. Understand that in countries where you are granted liberty, your choices are really all that matter. Video games do drive people to do certain things, but at the end of the day, whomever committed horrendous acts brought that upon themselves by choosing to play whichever game they were influenced by. Suffice to say that they should be charged, put on trial, and jailed, and that's it. You don't need to bad video games just because of one fucking guy.

Well its your right to not buy these games because of your beliefs, but it is against the first ammendment to call for bans on these items

Super Columbine Massacre RPG! was a great game.

I who was 12 when the shootings happened and lived very near by columbine had no problem with the existence of this game i knew one of the boys killed in the shooting but if someone wants to play that game its there right to

Six Days in Fallujah, At point in time it's already finished and ready for publishing but due to the outcryies of media circles it is highly unlikely it will ever be released.

The difference between watching terrorists murdering innocent people and pretending to be a terrorist murdering innocent people is significant.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 places you in the position of acting, you are pretty much choosing to pull the trigger as opposed to watching others do so. That is why No Russian is far more controversial then watching a similar movie. There is a different psychology.

While seeing innocents murdered may cause outrage, and that is how you will feel. While playing yourself you may derive pleasure from this murder.

It feels wrong.

It ain't much of a art unless it's controversial.

Games are supposed to cause emotional responses.

...

The "good" ones anyway.

Of course there is a difference between touching a controversial subject and blatantly exploiting it.

As opposite ends of a scale examples; MW2 (for using controversy as a selling point) and Tales of Vesperia (For using controversy as a good storyline device that had depth in it.)

Therefore, there must be more controversy.

Only by thinking about these things can we process them, whether individually or as a species.

^What he said.^ I played this game, but I hated that level. It's wrong to say choosing to kill like... everyone in an airport isn't morally wrong just because it's a game.

I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS

Why does no one ever mention the fact that you are an American that is killing innocents in order to hopefully stop a world war during this level?

You all do know you can just consider that airport level as a target practice by NOT shooting at the civvies?

Besides, it's MW2. Who cares about CoD?

It has no value other than to be the next FPS in series of bland FPS's.

Kinda like comparing Mona Lisa to a vulgar graffiti to say CoD has value as a controversial title.

The level is only there to make the sales, not to make a statement.

So polygons and pixels are more graphical than movies? :o

Seriously though, isn't it simply because they have different rating systems, and aren't rated by the same organizations...?

Well.. When did America ever murder innocent people, like they did in this level, in real life?

Are you really asking this question? How about the 2 nukes dropped on Japan. How about the Vietnam War? How about the Iraq war?
