JR sighed and hung his head, "Ughhh I don't know....I really hope I can catch a break soon though. But with this, and the fact that I have to stay here tomorrow during the festival...it's tough." He did look tired, his hair was all wild, "But otherwise it's cool. I can't complain...much."

 

My face was the real equivalent of ':/' for a few moments before I had an odd suggestion. "Hey, if you want I could help you for a while. I've got quite a bit of free time, so if you need a pair of free hands to help until this all passes."

 

I took a sip of my hot chocolate. "This is really good!"

Denise shrugged and decided to watch the show. She knew the song and she liked it, but she wasn't sure what she thought about this dude she barely knew pretty much trying to serenade her in her store.

 

"That was pretty rad," she nodded, smirking and looking back at Mary.

 

 

 

 

"That works," she nodded and stretched out her arms idly, "What time's it start at?"

"What time's what at?" Kronos asked the two girls, "Is it a performance or something?" Blob came out of the case and snatched the instrument from Kronos' graps and put it back in the case. "Thanks, Blob."

 

"Pfft." Blob replied.

 

"Yeah, yeah, you too. Anyways, what are you two talking about? Also, who's your friend?" Kronos gave Denise's friend the same flirty look he gave her.

Apep glanced at the rat behind the counter and gave a slight nod. "I'll be sure to do that." She said, giving a slight smile. As she wandered through the store, the snake listened to the music that Kronos played. Apep eventually found a few issues of several manga that she was reading for inspiration and headed for the counter. "Here you go. I'm surprised I found this here. It's so hard to find good manga around here."

@@Mentis Soliloquy,  To saw Ryo was surprised would be an understatement. He jumped back, dropping his pencil and nearly dropping his sketch book. Taking a moment for a few deep breaths, Ryo tried to talk with the new person. "Umm sorry. I didn't notice you. Sorry. As for what I was, doing, well..." Noticing that her brother was talking with someone, Shizuko quickly made her way to his side to help him out when he inevitably would get stuck. Like just now.

 

"We're digital artists by trade, bro was talking reference sketches of me for a possible project we would be working on in the future along with a full basic sketch of this scene."

 

"Thanks Shizuko. Umm, yeah sure I can try and help out. It depends on what you need though, umm. I can't do everything of course."

 

"You're going to have to forgive him, he's awkward to work with."

 

"That's cold."

She put her hand to her chin, looking upwards with deep thought, "Um... I think it begins at twelve of clock. We should leave early before everyone starts piling up at the place. You know how people get when they're impatient. Pushing shoving...hitting... Just to go first."

"Um well it's nothing much I'm looking for the general store, I hope I did not scare you too much I did not mean to startle you it's not because I am in uniform is it? Would it be too much to ask if one or both of you escorted me to the store so I can get supplies for my squad."

"Ahh, fair enough. If you change your mind, or want someone to talk to, I'll be sitting in that booth other there working on this laptop which you have no idea on how it arrived with me or how it is suddenly in my hand" I said as living my arm up to show a laptop while pointing to a booth behind me.

JR nodded with a small smile, "No problem, miss. Have a good day." He started wiping the counter off, and got a small sign. He went and hung it up outside, it was a sign showing off their specials for the day. "Ugh... This is the only shred of outside I'm getting..." he sighed.

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "No, it wasn't because of your uniform or anything. *awkward laugh* Umm, general store? General store? It's a short trip from here. We'll walk you to that place you need. In just a moment." Ryo picked his pencil up off of the ground and marked the place he was standing with an X, accompanied by an arrow indicating which direction he was facing. "I hope this doesn't damage the pencil too much." 

 

"Please forgive his strange habits."

 

"Okay, this is all done. Uhh, it's that way the opposite direction of the way I was looking, which is most likely back the way you came. Sort of, maybe. Ahh, manners. Umm, my name is Ryo and this is my sister Shizuko." 

 

"Heyo."

 

"So what's your name? That's if you are okay with telling me that." Ryo asked as the trio started walking away from the shop and more towards the centre of town, that would be the most logical of places for a general goods store. He thought to himself.

"Nice to meet you Ryo and Shizuko my name is Crystal, Specialist Crystal." She moved her rocket launched strapped to her back to draw attention to it. "I like my name but everyone calls me Bass most of the time because I rather like techno music so eh I don't mind either." They walked a little further. "If you are a digital artist why are you outside?"

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "Nice to meet you Bass, and we're outside because mainly what we do is back drop work, landscape art or a skybox. Something you could like at and have you think of it was a background image or a Wallpaper. We base most of what we see on locations we have seen in real life. We take sketches of streets in towns and turn them into full art pieces, most of the time they get used in things like VN's. But mainly we do Landscape art, something that you could have as a wallpaper, or framed image on the wall, or a large world shot in a movie/ Video game. That's the kind of things we do. We're outside to get inspiration for our next project, which is currently undecided. But having a stockpile of bases to choose from speeds up development time a lot. So it's useful. For us to venture outside once in a while."

"Greetings, Mary," Kronos replied in a sudden change of tone and demeanor that wasn't confrontational when he noticed the nervousness in Mary's voice, "I'm Kronos. I'm a wandering musician. Kind of one of those drifter types, y'know? Doesnt stay in one place for long but still the one that everyone talks about? You probably haven't heard of me yet. I'm pretty new around here. And I'm single. Wait, what, where did that come from? Nevermind that last bit."

 

"You're lonely." Blob squeaked as he squirmed his way out of the slit of Kronos' Guitassboard case.

 

"Thanks, Blob," Kronos replied sarcastically, "you've always been my wingcolt. Ugh."

"Well that is rather nice that you can make money from what you love I could not so I ended up in the army they pay and put a roof over my head my music did not I hate it but one must eat and well I could not think of anything else."

"My coloration is natural, though I can see why you might think otherwise. As for the offer, thank you. It has been some time since I was last able to relax." The dragon then laid down next to Kerrigan, but not to close to make it uncomfortable for either of them. Blitz didn't know why he was doing this. Maybe it was because this was the first dragon he had seen outside of whatever family he had left. Maybe it was because being a "lone wolf" was driving him to the brink of insanity. Either way, he was already in a conversation and it would be rude to leave so early. "You aren't to far off with my age, either. That being said, seeing as how you told me a bit about yourself, it is only fair that I do the same. My name is Blitz, and I actually lived in Amber Crust when I was young. Unforeseen circumstances forced my family to move out of town, though.. While I was away, I went through high school and college, before getting my degree in computer programming and agriculture, major and minor respectively. I just moved back last year and tend to my family's farm." The dragon felt weird talking about himself, but he tried his best to ignore it.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Blitz. That would certainly explain why I haven't seen you before. It is not often I encounter another dragon," Kerrigan said. The warm sun and sand felt wonderful, which made it difficult to shift her focus towards socialization. "I am curious as to familial dynamic you describe, but as I am not in a professional setting, I will refrain from asking about it," She added, pausing to let the warmth soak in.

 

This presented an interesting opportunity nonetheless, there were few dragons living among mammalians, and even though Blitz was substantially younger, she still found herself curious as to what brought him here. That, and she was inherently curious as to the thought processes of others, even if she was no longer practicing in a professional capacity.

 

"I must confess to being curious about you. Do you have other relatives here as well, or is it just you maintaining the family property? I have a small cottage on the outskirts, and consider it to be, in effect, a hoard of sorts. Is it the same with you?"

@@Mentis Soliloquy, " *nervous laugh* Keen is an understatement. She graduated from a digital arts college just under a year ago. Their's a reason why she doesn't go to school. And well, I need her help I'd never finish on time if she doesn't nag me and help me. This job doesn't exactly pay as well as one might imagine. Considering we only get payed when we finish a project, the money from that usually lasts just under 2 weeks. And it takes us nearly two weeks to finish a single project we really have to be working non stop most of the time. It gets exhausting. Ehhehe, I'm sorry for rambling on. This probably isn't much interest to you."

 

​"Fortunately we just finished a project and we're getting paid double for it because of the speed in which we finished it. So money isn't a worry for now. We can actually take a break for once. Good timing too with the Summer festival tomorrow. I don't think its much further until the store now."

I wondered down the street, looking for the place I'd come to call The Nerd Shop. It had free WiFi, therefore it was good. I walked in the door and saw lots of people, so I instead began looking for a seat.

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "Well, its basically a little festival this town has during some point in the summer. Its mainly a beach festival where you do summer, outdoor things. I heard this year we're having a Swimming contest, I heard rumours of a concert, food stuff, bikini contest I think was thing, among a few other things I didn't pay much attention to. I'm mainly going because Shizuko wants to go."

 

"Are you sure you didn't agree to go because you thought it would be a good chance to see some girls in swimsuits?"

 

"And why would I have time for that when I need to keep my eye on your clingy little hands 24/7? You know I can't take my eyes off of you for a second outside without you causing trouble."

 

"Valid point. I'm tired now."

 

"Fine. Bass, hold on just one second." Ryo crouched to let Shizuko clamber onto his back, to which she went to sleep on really quickly. "Anyway, I think that's the store you're looking for." He nodded his head towards one direction, indicating a relatively large store which was the towns general goods market. "I'd offer to help you out in what ever other way you may need it but, I have my hands full already with this one."

She couldn't help but grin at all the business. She was actually getting a good day! Yeah, she was definitely getting to keep the place.

Crystal headed off to the general store to get her supplies she needed...

Blitz closed his eyes and felt a knot tighten in his stomach. Family wasn't exactly a topic he was fond of, but he needed to give Kerrigan an answer "No. It's just me and a hawk that I hired to help with the farm." He said. "As for my home having a horde, it's well hidden and it isn't something that can be accessed easily by anyone I don't trust. That's probably a given, though."

Scarlet was walking in front of a game store when she ran into a snake carrying bags. Both were knocked over and the hawk quickly recovered and moved to help the snake. "Sorry about that. I didn't see you there." She said. The hawk couldn't get a good look at the snake, but she felt like something was familiar about the markings and scales.
