chili 120 April 4, 2016 Share April 4, 2016 (edited) NO. The shows with strong female characters a growing, but they are still very few as it is. There is no such thing as "male things". So you mean that these stallions would lift weights, play sports or play shooting games? Sounds like the stallions from G3 to me, those characters were no good at all... It's not very likely. I'd rather see the mane 6 as GIRLS, continue as it is with a slightly more mature element to it? Also, I do not see it as necessary to make it more directed to males anyway. I get the idea of breaking the stereotype, but I think the show is doing that quite smoothly already. To be feminine is not a bad thing, to watch a feminine show is not a bad thing, guys being feminine is NOT a bad thing either. Femininity is not wrong in any way and therefore MLP is great as it is. Merion 783 April 4, 2016 Share April 4, 2016 You never know how much you're going to like or hate G5 until it happens, so would you want a FIM-spinoff that's directed more at male viewers to tide you over? HELL YES, I'D LIKE TO SEE THAT! Something that could easily break the brony stereotype by having a cast of mostly male ponies doing "male things?" Seriously tho, do we really need a mostly-male-cast to make the thing more-directed-at-male-viewers? Ok, ok, I know. Male cast + lots of action is the usual formula for a boy's show. But... can't we have a female cast doing all the badass stuff? Can't girls do all the fighting/not looking at explosions for once? Now THAT would be awesome. But honestly... I'd still pretty much enjoy a typical boy's show spinoff to MLP:FiM. Could you please explain what you mean with "male things"? You know, not showering regularly and wearing torn socks! :diamondtiara: ... OKAY I'M JUST KIDDING, SORRY GUYS. click here! ♥
JonasDarkmane 19,791 April 4, 2016 Share April 4, 2016 I'm fine with the show as it is, being centered around female characters. There are a lot of other series that have males in the limelight as it is. One of the things that got me to like the show was that it was centered around female characters rather than male ones . I would like to see some certain male characters that have already been introduced to the show, be explored a bit though . 1 Signature by @Kyoshi Ask Me Matsunaga Hisahide's death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKT5Khp3-0U
weesh 690 April 4, 2016 Share April 4, 2016 I dream of a world where males and females are fairly represented in media, and males can have deep relationships without sports, and females can partake in traditionally male things.... but right now that is no where we are. I like the Idea of a male pony show that portrays healthy male relationships without being stereotypically macho. But as has been said, we don't really have a NEED for for that like we have a need for MLP. 1 Send me pictures of ponies in hoodies
geartree 33 April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 I think that a female centric show would be no different from a male centric show as long as they don't stick to gender stereo-types. The characters in MLP are not very stereo-typical, so for me it is fine. Now rarity is pretty stereo-typically female, and just imagine how annoying it would be if all the characters acted like that. Hearts, as strong as horses.
Mesme Rize 15,692 April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Okay, how about this. 3 of those are female and 3 of those are male. Boom, problem solved for everybody. Have fun with your equality. Scootalove 10,692 April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Make them interesting and not boring as stale bread, but yeah I'm open for any possible spinoff with a male cast. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
cider float 2,539 April 7, 2016 Share April 7, 2016 Looking at the new toys coming out it seems it wouldn't be too far to think they would make a male-centric spinoff. Lots of male centric cartoon show tends to suck though.
