If MLP made an Alien reference?

For those who doesn't know. 70s was the shit of surrealistic movies, i dont think you get better post production movies of how real they felt, nowadays movies are good but it feels more shallow nonetheless but that doesnt make them uninteresting. But 3d animations are getting better and good though.

 

But basically the movie has some psychological trauma inpact involving alien impregnation of facehuggers (No joke) as they are called and some r rated stuff. They referenced Metal Gear Solid with Discord hiding in a box. I was just wondering what you would react if it happend to be a reference to Alien

I'd be wondering why they just made a reference to it because it doesn't seem like a reference they'd make.

 

However, I'm not one to hate a reference to my favorite film or one of my favorite films, so I'd be all for it, though I have a feeling it may be a milder reference. It'd probably be someone bursting out of a cake and all of the ponies reacting very viscerally to it. Perhaps they'd do a play on the original scene and let a goat be covered in cake, since in the original chestburster scene they used goat's blood.

I'd imagine that might be something you'd be more likely to see in the comics, as they have a history of making references to more mature things than the cartoon.  For example, I doubt many 6-8 year old girls would have picked up on the references to Bladerunner, or Conan the Barbarian.

I would be just absolutely delighted if they did. I'm a pretty big fan of Alien, and I think it'd be just great if they threw something in. It could probably be done in an episode featuring changelings, if we ever get another one of those.

I see a Alien reference more likely to appear in the comics than the show due to their change in tone somewhat. Don't know if the writers on the show would make a reference to the movies.

I can see more opportunity for dialog references of Aliens. "Game over man, game over", and possibly Pinkie using some device that beeps when a changeling is near during a possible invasion simulating the intense 'where are they all coming from' moment.

I have only seen the 2 first movies. I guess it is mostly canon from what i know. But i remember this intense scene. Maybe that could work. My favorite scene from one of the two movies. The 1st was mostly psychological i feel while... well you know 80s movies, but Aliens was good. had more action in it but it did well!

The problem with references of that kind is trying to make them make sense, if you get it wrong it looks like they've just been shoehorned in for the sake of it.

If they can get away with a Game of Thrones reference, they can probably do Alien. MLP does seem to largely do references to more recent stuff, though.
