Emerald woke up to the sound of her alarm clock ringing she looked around adjusting to her lack of an eye she was awake early as usual and decided to take a shower before she went to school she still had the smell of sea salt in her coat and thought that it wasn't the best way to introduce herself. she walked into the bathroom and spent a good five minuets staring at the mirror longing for her lost optical receptor

Potion woke up in his small apartment's organized chaos. He went straight to kitchen make breakfast. Before eating he packed his stuff and got ready to leave. "about ten minutes early" He thought as his alarm clock started ringing and he slowly walked to turn it off. He yawned and went to eat his breakfast and after eating left towards the school.

Potion woke up in his small apartment's organized chaos. He went straight to kitchen make breakfast. Before eating he packed his stuff and got ready to leave. "about ten minutes early" He thought as his alarm clock started ringing and he slowly walked to turn it off. He yawned and went to eat his breakfast and after eating left towards the school.

Emerald didn't want to go to school she felt terrible. she fastened her locket around her neck and began to get dressed. she debated putting her trench coat on and acting like a total bad ass but it didn't suit her she hadn't been the same since Gold went back out to sea almost three months ago. she headed downstairs and out the door looking around she noticed a lot of other ponies she kept quiet and pulled her hood up to hide her eye from view.

Potion arrived to school early but didn't go inside yet. He went to quiet corner that was still visible from school's front doors and looked around.

 

Potion was really casual-looking by his clothing so he really wasn't minded by passing ponies as they went inside, some of them looked at him but they too minded their own business. "This is probably going be unpleasant day" he sighed as he watched all the ponies who passed him.

Emerald walked past the corner and stopped she looked at Potion before her cheeks went a slight shade of red and continued walking but at a slightly faster pace than normal. (who is that guy?) she thought (he seems so laid back... I have to know who he is and now!) she was too shy to approach him though and kept walking

"Hi, are you new, I haven't seen you before." Potion's voice had friendly tone on it.

Emerald stiffened and turned around. "y...yes..." she said and took her hood down. luckily Potion was on the side she could see him and her mane was covering her eye-patch's strap. "I'm Emerald... the new girl..." she said as she hoped that Potion wouldn't notice the eye-patch

"I'm Potion, nice to meet you Emerald." After saying that Potion had no idea how to continue and he kept awkward pause but got himself to talk again.

"erm.... Sorry, I don't usually go and talk to ponies....but you looked like worth talking to" Potion saw something under Emerald's mane but didn't point it out nor stare at it.

"We should probably move, clock is ticking." "What class are you on, I can help to find right place if needed."

Potion felt better about the day because of this possible new friend but he still didn't enjoy being in school.

"I don't know... but I was given a picture of well you... to use as reference so we're in the same class i guess? " Emerald said smiling. she felt the locket around her neck it had pictures of her and Gold in. he had told her to keep hold of it until they were married so that he was always with her. but now she feared Gold was dead.

Potion smiled back and started walking. "In that case, follow me." "It's in this direction" Class wasn't far and when Potion got in, he went straight to back corner seat leaving cap between him and everypony else but he didn't sit down yet but waited Emerald to take her seat first..

Emerald came and sat next to Potion she was shy and didn't know anyone else so Potion was her only option other than making friends but she didn't want to do that. "d'you mins if I sit here?" she said before she sat next to him "i don't know anyone else in here"

Emerald was glad that Potion allowed Emerald to sit by him "thank-you." (this guy is kind as well!?) Emerald thought (I think I'm gonna like him...) she smiled at him but hid from the ponies who were now staring at her like she was a weeping angel or something that doesn't move when you look at it

Potion nodded to Emerald to show that he received her thanks and started to stare back to ponies that stared at them. His friendliness left his face every time he met new eye-pair staring, he didn't care if it helped or not but his goal was just show them that he doesn't give a damn about what they think about anything.

The teacher arrived some minuets later he was a mess. "good morning class I will be your history teacher for this year now I know not many of you like history but I promise to attempt at making it less boring and more better than it has been in the years before this one."

Ponies turned their eyes towards the teacher. Potion took out his notebook and pen. "Hope there will be something interesting this time" He thought when the teacher finished. He turned to Emerald and asked. "Do you need pen or something else? Or are you good?" He didn't really know why but he didn't want Emerald to feel like not settling in since that's something that many times new students feel.

Emerald joined Potion as he was the only pony she knew and the only pony she wanted to know for a while. she felt a bit twitchy and on edge she needed a drink of anything alcoholic at all. she took a swig from a flask containing Whisky and Rum before putting it back in her bag
