The apprentice's eyes shone with fear, glinting in the light of the full moon. He gritted his teeth and tried to push the rogue away, unsheathing his small, sharp claws and scratching at his fur, but to no avail.

"Why... do you want to know?" he managed to say. "And please... don't hurt me! We offered you shelter... we said you could stay in our camp..."

The apprentice's eyes shone with fear, glinting in the light of the full moon. He gritted his teeth and tried to push the rogue away, unsheathing his small, sharp claws and scratching at his fur, but to no avail.

"Why... do you want to know?" he managed to say. "And please... don't hurt me! We offered you shelter... we said you could stay in our camp..."

Casting one more look of irritation towards the other clan members, Darkfur spoke to his leader quietly.

 

"I need to return home, the pains are slowly unnumbing.. I'll see you all back there."

 

He didn't give his leader time to argue before taking off into the forest.

 

He hadn't really returned because of his wounds, but instead a prickling sensation in his spine that something was wrong, and as he walked through the camp entrance and his eyes landed on the rogue attacking the apprentice, he knew his instincts had proved him right.

 

He barrelled towards the rogue, and with one mighty shove threw him off of the young apprentice, hissing at the rogue.

 

"What do you think you're doing? Attacking our young whilst vulnerable..."

 

He took a defensive position in front of the apprentice, rage burning in his eyes.

"Yes, unfortunately," Twigblaze replied to Owlheart. "Wait... too? Are you saying that Thunderclan has been affected by this horrible illness? I hadn't a clue."

Twigblaze kept an eye on the rogue, though she considered the situation of no concern to her. She recognised the cat, most certainly - from earlier today, in fact - but it appeared that the other cats closer to him had him under control. Surely, there wasn't anything he could do to hurt so many skilled cats?

 

"Every Clan has, I think," Owlheart answered, a bit cryptically but conclusively, "I assume it's why Silverstar is so worked up tonight. WindClan must have it badly."

 

Like Twigblaze, he kept an eye on this rogue. He assumed the other cats would be able to handle it, but he was ready to jump in should he have to.

 

 

Kitestar glanced at all of the Thunderclan cats, casting a slight look of disdain Owlheart's way at seeing him socialising so much with the Shadowclan she-cat, but soon turned back to the rogue.

 

The senior warrior caught the glares of disdain from his Clanmates. He could tell exactly what they were thinking.

 

He flicked his tail indignantly and in slight anxiety. He had worked hard to earn whatever trust he had, but he didn't have to explain himself. The Gathering was a time for peace and exchanging news, and that's exactly what he was doing.

 

If Kitestar wanted to know, she could ask him herself.

 

 

Moontail looked around again, this time spotting a pair of curious eyes reflecting in the moonlight in the bushes across the fallen tree bridge. Luckily for Jinx, only a cat like the Riverclan medicine cat, who was actually searching for such a sight, would have spotted her.

 

Jinx kept ducked in the bushes, watching the meeting with wide-eyed wonder. She blinked and slunk away a little when one of the cats spotted her, though it resembled the she-cat she had run into earlier that day. With a little sigh of relief, she returned to her position and kept watching.

Slumberfur kept staring at rogue in front of them, but when he heard Silverstar's disrespectful way speaking to Kitestar '....Too friendly with Kittypet's and loners if you're to ask me...' The sentence somehow got onto his nerves, he didn't know why, maybe because he was 'Kittypet' himself and Kitestar's kindness was that gave him the home.

He opened his mouth and was going to answer to Silverstar's words, but then he closed it because he started feeling dizzy, he tried to shake it of but dizziness didn't go away. He heard Kitestar finishing her answer to Silverstar '...of your cats has it handled...' and then he collapsed.

@@Pripyat Pony, @@Kankuro, "Darkfur-" Kitestar began, but the warrior was soon gone. She narrowed her eyes as she watched him make his way over the tree bridge and back to camp - his gait seemed to show no trace of a limp, causing her to feel slightly curious. Shaking off the feeling, she decided to ask her deputy to possibly follow him, to ensure he would be alright.

"Poppyfur, would you kindly go after Dakrfur and make sure he gets back to camp safely?" she asked.

 

Thunderclan camp

@@Sunset light, @@Summer Breeze The apprentice was relieved to see a Thunderclan warrior burst into camp, an unsettled look on his face.

"Help!" he called to Darkfur, also causing the other cats poke their heads worriedly out of their dens to look his way. Darkfur stood between him and the rogue now, and he fled to the opposite side of the Thunderclan camp.

"He appears to be out cold," one elder informed the alarmed Kitestar. She contemplated hopping down from where she sat to see to her clanmate, suddenly wishing that the medicine cat, Moonshine, could be here.

Owlheart blinked as he noticed the glares of contempt came from not only his Clanmates, but also his leader.

 

He narrowed his eyes, not out of warning, but out of disappointment. Was Kitestar really suspecting him of being a traitor? After the mercy she had shown him moons ago?

 

 

Tilting her head with anxiety and confusion at Slumberfur's sudden collapsing, Kitestar quickly ordered several warriors and apprentices of her clan to help the warrior. They surrounded him curiously, nervousness evident in their eyes.

"He appears to be out cold," one elder informed the alarmed Kitestar. She contemplated hopping down from where she sat to see to her clanmate, suddenly wishing that the medicine cat, Moonshine, could be here.

 

Slumberfur's sudden collapse caught his attention, and with a quick pardon to Twigblaze, he bounded over to see what the problem was. Thankfully, his Clanmate was just unconscious.

 

"Someone should take him to Moonshine," he murmured, then looked back at Kitestar with silent hope. He wanted to be the one to help Slumberfur. If anything, to assure the ThunderClan leader of his loyalty to her.

Kitestar heard Owlheart suggest helping Slumberfur back to camp, to be tended to by Moonshine.

"Yes, of course..." she replied. "Owlheart, would you mind taking him? Darkpaw, you go, too. You are Slumberfur's apprentice, after all, and he'll likely need more help."

'What in Straclan's name is happening today?' Kitestar thought. 'First, we must say goodbye to an unfortunate, sick warrior... Then, a rogue arrives in the camp promising he has some sort of cure... At the gathering another one shows up and interrupts our peaceful meeting; poor Slumberfur collapses...'

It had been a mad day today, indeed, but the leader kept focussed on her passed-out clanmate. There was something... different... about what had happened to him.

Darkpaw ran to his mentor when he collapsed, he was first and gave space to the other cats as they came.  When Kitestar ordered him to go with Slumberfur and Owlheart nodded to his leader and went to help Owlheart.

 

Slumberfur looked around, he was in Thunderclan's camp but it was empty, there was nobody, he went around checking every den but they were all empty too, he looked at the sky and saw a full moon shining. "Why am I here, I should be at the gathering, and where is everybody else." He heard it out loud even though he was sure he didn't open his mouth. "Hello! anybody!"

From hearing Kitestar's order to help Slumberfur back to camp, relief washed over Owlheart. She was still willing to trust him.

 

He accepted Darkpaw's help, and after getting the unconscious warrior onto his back, they raced back to the camp as fast as possible.

When he and Darkpaw returned, Owlheart saw Darkfur standing in front of the rogue at the edge of the clearing.

 

A snarl escaped him. He knew that rogue couldn't be trusted.

 

He gently lowered Slumberfur onto the ground.

"Darkpaw," he meowed to the apprentice, "go and get Moonshine. I'm going to help Darkfur."

 

With that, he bounded to his Clanmate's side, and hissed at the rogue, claws unsheathed. "I knew you were trouble."

 

RiverClan Territory

 

Jinx continued to watch from the bush as the events took place. A cat collapsed, a few cats ran away, and there was a lot of distressed meowing.

 

She braved slinking out of the bush, pricking her ear in the direction of the island to try and get within earshot to find out the ruckus.

After short time searching around it was clear that there was nothing around, no cats, no birds, not even wind, Slumberfur had never experienced silence like this. Then he heard sound from Highrock behind him,it sounded like cat jumping on the Highrock, he turned around and saw cat shaped figure on top of the rock.

@@Kankuro, @@Wolves, Poppyfur nodded to her leader's request and followed Darkfur back to camp as quickly as she could. She was just in time to see him confront the stranger, and stepped to his side to defend the apprentice.

 

"Nocat who cannot keep their temper is welcome here," she said, evenly and calmly, to the stranger. "Especially attacking an apprentice."

@@Unicorncob, Dusty carefully slunk along the branch, making sure that he didn't make a wink of noise. He saw a thick patch of bushes nearby and dropped neatly from the branch into them. Only to find that there was a cat already there... he just managed to suppress a yowl of surprise.

Slumberfur couldn't make up any specific features from the figure, against the night sky he could only see dark shape of the cat he couldn't catch familiar scent from the cat. "Who are you?" Unknown cat looked at Slumberfur, cat's pose were similar to what leader on the Highrock speaking to their clan looked like.

Moon's beam of light hit the cat and Slumberfur saw flash of orange before waking up from the ground on edge of Thunderclan's camp. "What in name of Starclan."(Muttering)

SilverStar glanced at her and tutted, "well how about you just give your report then, I'm sure we would love the additional company of this rouge" she growled. She sat down on the stump grumpily. She had at-least gained some more territory, she had just began to nod, sleepily, she thought about her early morning hunting session and frowned to herself, that wasn't such a good idea after all. She then turned her attention back to the rouge wondering what it wanted. She didn't really care that much.

She glanced as one of the Thunderclan cats fell asleep, she smirked at that. Thunderclan couldn't even keep there warriors from falling asleep, she then blinked, wait he wasn't asleep. She frowned narrowing her eyes, it looked like he had fainted, she twitched her tail, maybe he was ill. Thunderclan and Shadowclan had some sort of sickness, her annoyance had turned to anger, how dare both clans try and spread the sickness by bringing sick cats to a gathering.

"Kitestar" she growled with a hiss, she flicked her tail at Slumberfur. "If you're warriors fallen asleep then you better make sure he is properly punished" she growled. "Unless you intentionally brought a sick cat to a gathering, then I will take my clan home. Windclan will not be affected by any of your punishment for disrespecting Starclan, or sickness that follows" she growled.

 

Silverstar glared at the other leaders, her eyes narrowed, "Is there sickness in any of you're camps?" she asked, glaring at both Kitestar and Midnightstar. She had heard rumors of a sickness, "Well?" she snapped.

'I'm not that stupid...' she thought. 'But what did happen to Slumberfur?'

 

Twigblaze ashed her tail from left to right in annoyance at the Windclan leader's accusations, even if they were against a different clan. She rolled her eyes - this appeared to be becoming a habit of her's.

"I gave you the cure but it seems that you didn't get the recipe so you wouldn't mind me doing this"

* points metallic claws at him and fires a dart which hits him in the leg*

"You got 5minutes to live take the cure and keep me here or die and spread it"

*Bares his non metal claws out*

Anyone else tell this guy to pay off I accidentally shot him but it doesn't kill just give him a strong smell hell come round and yeah more cure for you"

*Throws more blue liquid needles*

"Everyone here inject yourselves but killing me will result in your disaster your choice and we had a deal I give you cure I get to stay for a bit before I set off"

Thunderclan camp

moonshine had decided to ignore the rogue, that looked like the most wise idea right now. she didn't notice when he walked out of her den, only when there was a sudden cry for help that sounded like it came from an apprentice she popped her head out of the den to see what the rogue had done "Oh no!" she said with a panicing voice "No no no no no no no" She said again but then she saw that darkfur had came back and was now talking care of it. "we should have gotten rid of him as soon as he arrived." She muttered as she stared at the scene at the open place, unable to do something.

 

then owlheart and darkpaw came into the camp, carrying an unconcious slumberfur. She heard darkpaws cry for help and she raced down to him, now she knew what to do and a weird sence of calmness and controle came over her. when she ran towards slumberfur she saw that the rogue had something weird with his claw "What in starclans name..." she said as she almost had stopped to look but then she shook her head "Get that rogue out of our teritory, NOW!" She shouted to the warriors. that was all that needed to happen right now, that rogue had to get out of here. then she saw what the rogue did "Oh dear no!" she said, the calmness was gone and the panic was back. this was just too much to handle! "Ehm, just do what he says and then get him out of here." she said to the cats and then she hurried over to slumberfur.

 

then she walked towards the place where slumberfur had been layed down. when she came closer to him she heard him mutter something "don't worry, I'm here, you're going to be alright" she said as she started to examine him. "tell me exactly what happened there." she said to darkpaw, this wasn't what normally happened at a gathering.

The gathering

willowpaw had been quiet, it was all so new and a bit scary. she had sat down and watched everything that happened from a distance. she had always thought that gatherings were a moment of peace and such things but didn't seem like that at all. the cat's weren't exactly nice to eachother and things didn't seem to be going as they should. to not make anything worse she decided to stay at the background as much as possible. she didn't notice her mentor going back to the camp but instead got back deeper and deeper. suddenly she saw two strange cats, they didn't smell like any of the clans. she decide to hide in the bushes to see what they would do 

 

(the two strange cats are jinx and dusty)

"Oh," Jinx murmured, keeping her own voice down as well, "hello, my name is Jinx. I live nearby." She purred, some pride in her hushed voice.

 

She nodded at Dusty's comment about grouped cats. "Yes, those cats over there live around the lake. For some reason, they gather on that island on every full moon."

 

She had no idea one of those lake cats was nearby...

 

 

Thunderclan camp

@@Unicorncob, "Do you like it here?" Dusty asked, curiously. "I might settle here, at least, for the moment. I've always lived in the city; there's good hunting there, plus meals put out by Twolegs for kittypets. I don't intend to bother those other cats; if they leave me alone, then I'll leave them alone."

"I have no idea, gathering was going normally besides few disagreements, and then he just collapsed. Without a warning or any visible reason." Darkpaw explained to the Moonshine, then Slumberfur looked at the Moonshine from the ground, his face was formed by pure confusion. "I don't actually feel any worse than usual." He told confused.

He wasn't going to stand up before Moonshine said he could, after all medicine cat new it best. He continued with same amount of confusion in his voice "I just got dizzy for no reason, and I guess lost consciousness, fell asleep or something."

Silverstar nodded, noting the question avoidance. "well its you're turn to report to the gathering" she said before sitting back down. She began to groom herself, she had said everything she wanted and got new territory out of it. So she was contented, she watched another rouge come into the gathering, how sweet, it brought a friend she thought with a snort, she ignored both newcomers, if they did try to follow her back to camp, then they would enjoy having there bones used to expand the new dens. She then thought about the lack of wood she had, maybe she could take it from else wear.
