I can't say I know much about Gawker, but from what I gather on Hulk Hogan's case they seem to have posted a sex tape of him without his permission. Is that accurate? If so that is an awful thing to do and I don't feel sorry for Gawker at all.

Because Gawker hates gamers and helped with starting a hate campaign against them.

It's quite accurate. But it's not the only thing Gawker did to become the most hated media. I posted a list of crimes Gawker committed in the debate pit (I lost the topic) from blackmailing to spreading slander. One of the head editors even called to bring back bullying against nerds:

As much as I would love to celebrate, someone is actually buying them.
