~OOC/Sign-up~

Shining Midnight sat atop his tower, watching over the land, as is his duty. Hearing a noise from the doorway, he shifted his right ear to hear the noise better. It's the noise of the door creaking open. Princess Luna steps through the doorway, carrying a book with her. "Here's the book you requested. Though I don't know why you asked me to get it." She said with a sigh. Shining turned to face her "You're the only one who could've attained this book. Only those of dreams are able to touch it. If I were to try, it'd turn to smoke, only to re-harden moments later." He said as he pokes the book with his hoof, which indeed turns to smoke. And as he said, moments later, it re-hardened. "Isn't it useless to you, then?" Luna asked him, somewhat intrigued. "True, my physical form can't touch it. But my magic still can." He states as his horn glows with a dim blue light. He turns the pages and reads through, searching for a certain spell. "Care to explain what you're looking for?" Luna asks while looking at the book. "A certain spell. If it's the spell I think it is, then it allows the caster to change any physical property of... Well, anything. Including life forms. For example, if I were to cast the spell, I could change this mountain into chocolate. Or I could change the size of your horn, get rid of it even. This book is the last possible place it could be." He says as he stops flipping the pages, and stares into the book. "It has that kind of power?! What could you possibly want with this spell?!" She exclaims, causing two guards to appear in the doorway. "Nothing evil, of course. I just wish to change the landscape a little. And a few other things." He says with a wink to Luna. "Besides... It'd be safer with me than some evil character like Chrysalis. Or even Discord." He says as he closes the book, and stores it in one of his saddle bags. "So? Is the spell in the book?" She asks, with a worried look on her face. "Yes. Fortunately, we found it before Dark Blood did. But knowing him, he already knows the spell and can use it whenever he wants. Forgive me, but I must be off. I have to hide this somewhere safe." He says as he dives over the railings.

"Teleport." He mutters, and he appears in Ponyville. As he walks through the town, ponies everywhere come to see him, trying to catch a glimpse of his face. A mare rubs her head against his side, and whispers in his ear "If you take off the hood, I'll make it worth your while." Shining just keeps walking through all of the ponies, and eventually they give up and go back to what they were doing. Soon, everypony leaves him alone, and he slides into a dark alley. "Stealth. Cloak." He mutters, disappearing from sight, and causing no sound as he moves. He makes his way to the Everfree Forest, and disables his magic, reappearing in front of a blue dragon with a tux and a top-hat. "Excuse me." He says as he walks around the dragon.

(OOC: I should note: No pony outside of royalty has seen Shining Midnight face. His cloak hides it, and no one is able to convince him to remove it.)

Today has been quite the boring day for Sappy. He had spent all his time writing down new information that he has retrived, so there was no time exploring. After some time, the suited dragon decided to pour himself some lemon tea with honey. His favorite combo. Because of his fire breath, it took little to no time to heat up the water.

After writing a few more pages, Sappy thought that he should get a well deserved break. He walked outside of his giant cave, and headed towards ponyville. Sappy had quite the sweet tooth, and what better place to quench it then the sugarcube corner? However, as he got outside, he encountered the pony he least expected to be here, and the first thing the pony did was walk around him. "Well, that was rude. What brings the infamous little watchdog to my territory?" Asked Sappy

This day hasn't been the greatest for Renee. She had been chased by Timberwolves, stepped into quick sand, lost her watch and finally got herself lost in the forest. Yea, things couldn't be better for the mare. Especially with scars, bite marks and scratches all over her body and mane. Could this day get any worse for her? Seems to be.

The unicorn didn't know which way to go. Whenever she chose either left or right it always leaves her with the same choice again. Left and right.. Left and right.. What's next? Left and down?! Renee was started to get fed up until she heard something. Curious the mare is, she crept over to where the noise was coming from and found a dragon, a hooded pony and Somepony else. Renee decided to hide in the bushes and watch.

Shining stops walking, hearing the dragon ask him a question, along with something else. "Do not anger me, dragon. I am in no mood for tom-foolery." He says as he slightly shifts his left ear. "As for you, were-creature, no you do not. I don't know you either, but I've seen you before. And I know of your... diet. Don't worry, though, I don't mind. Just don't attack me or either of the princesses." He says. He's grinning under his hood, but nopony can see it. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be." He says as his horn glows with a dim blue "Stealth. Cloak." He mutters and disappears from sight. He walks past the were-creature, and notices a pony to his right, hiding behind a tree. He sends the pony a mental warning "Be wary of the were-creature." as he continues along.

Shining stops walking, and disables his cloaking magic. "I'll admit, not many beings are able to see through that invisibility spell. You must have good eyes. And I am Shining Midnight, Royal Watcher of Equestria, and General of the Royal Guard. The only ponies that have a higher rank than me are the Princesses. Most ponies know who I am, but you since reside in the forest, I doubt you care about any of that. Where I'm going is none of your business. And why I'm hiding? That's so curious ponies don't end up following me and end up getting themselves killed. Either by you or some other creature of the forest." He says occasionally twitching his right ear, and motioning toward a sleeping manticore. "And would you STOP SNIFFING ME!" He exclaims, as he jumps back 5 yards.

As Shining Midnight began walking away, Wolf squinted, not ready to stop talking. "Hey! Now just you wait a minute! How in the hell do you know me and how did you know that I eat other ponies? Just who are you?" she asked as she leaped in front of the hidden stallion. She began sniffing him like a dog would after its owner came home with the scent of other dogs on them. "Where are you headed and why are you hiding?" She added.

@@Love Doctor Blaze

Wolf took notice of the blue dragon and made eye contact with him. "A dragon dressed fancier than one of the princesses? Damn, now I've seen it all. Who are you, now?" she asked as she continued her sniffing assault on Shining Midnight.

Sappy let out an offended snort. That guy needs some serious manners. He looked over at the one adressing him "Ah my apologies. My name is Sappy Lappy, sometimes reffered as the cultural guardian. The cave you see about 40 meters behind me is my home. Pleased to meet you." Said Sappy and did a little bow as he took his hat off. "Oh, and i should start following that guy. When he is involved, there is always something exciting"

While she was still watching them, she felt quite bored from all the talking and stuff. Not to mention she got the warning from the strange cloaked pony. Wait a minute.. That hooded pony looks kinda familiar but I can't put a hoof on it.. Renee kept her eyes on the mysterious pony the whole time. Not moving, not making a sound or show any sign of fear. Renee was quite curious to see who that pony was. She looked at the other two and shivered a little. A dragon wearing a tux and a top hat and another creature that looks like a saber tooth tiger. "This day keeps on getting weirder and weirder.." She whispered to herself.

White and Wade were having one of their training sessions in the Everfree forest. A basic game of hunt, when both are the prey and the predator with the goal of seeing which one could incapacitate the other first. After Six hours non of them had made much impact on the other, White being an expert on survival and Wade being a highly trained royal operative. While sneaking through some overgrowth, Wade's attention was taken by small voices he could hear not too far away from him. All the brush and background noise made it difficult for his sight to make an image in his head of numbers or body shapes. He just sat down hidden in the growth and listened in on the topics. Maybe he could make out some names.

Heathlife had recently taken a train ride to Ponyville to walk around in Everfree forest to collect various herbs, he needed them for some experiments back in Canterlot afterall. Just he, the natural magical beings and... What was this? His head stopped moving so his left eye could take a good look, it was a magic trail left after... Quite a powerful being from what he saw. He could guess it was stronger than any natural magic being in the forest, could an Alicorn be here? No, there would be more signatures or at least the trade-mark of the Alicorn, a routine thinness. But this one was thick "strange" he hummed to himself. He was in a good mood today.

@@Love Doctor Blaze@,@,@@Mentis Soliloquy@@VinylWubs,

He begun following the trail, looking around with his normal eye for herbs while looking straight on with his magical eye, straight towards the end of the trail... In which he saw a number of select magical signatures. 5 of them in total, he deciphered from how large they were and if they had a said 'boundary' which is the very very edge of a magical signature, in a normal pony that is of non-alicorn origin should have one unless artificially removed by use of amulets such as the alicorn amulet or other magical tools. Or by undergoing a magical change entirely like himself. One seemed to be of dragonic origin, could be a dragon in of itself. At least the magic was formidable, the shape was like that of... Something he could only describe as fashion, even though the shape doesn't always correlate to one's outer appearance it always says something about the inside as magical growth, even though it can be sporadic it is influenced by one's personality and way of thinking. One's tastes and likes is such a thing. The one closest to it... An obvious pegasus or other winged pony-like creature, to be determined it was on the bigger side of things. Obviously aiding in physical improvements by natural strengthening magic in one's muscles, from what he could see he couldn't exactly determine how large it was as it had been depleted a small bit too much, shame. Though the shape is as usual wing-like, distored slightly from an achievement in life perhaps, a cutie mark that stimulated it maybe, not rare at all for the thousands of ponies that live in Equestria. Going even further ahead he saw something he could only explain as an unicorn's magic signature in the trees, it had a defined shape but fluctuated along the edges. Undecided growth has many complicated answers... It was rather uninteresting for him, he'd seen plenty of such in canterlot. People unsure, unsafe about their decisions... Though they're not all the same, could also be something else entirely, even a defect at birth. Going even further with his evaluation of said magical signatures he saw something he did not expect, at least in these parts of the woods. A distorted magic signature, though it couldn't be considred rare... At smaller magnitudes. But such distortions at such a scale. The only other case would have been himself when he first awakened, too sad that his was simply too large for his physical body to handle and reverted mostly, such growth... Lost in time. The new discovery bored him now, it was most likely some magic modification or physical alteration that affected one's thoughts, necromancy, lycans, form shifting. All of them could but not always change the magic signature's form. The last he saw... The grand prize, a smile crept upon him until he noticed that said signature's boundary was infact... Shattered, even though it was enormous. Larger by far to his current one, too sad it was broken. Amazingly enough this ones shape, its form... Only very strong unicorns or alicorn could ever achieve such form. At least for ponies, dragons and other magically strong creatures could also gain one... Like Discord, though... One couldn't say that is ordered with him in mind. What was amazing was that the fluctuations were next to none. It was just too sad it was shattered, meaning when the usage of magic is greater than one's pool of magic within oneself it'll start to deteriorate one's physical body or at least impact it. He has met various ponies like this, most of them non-unicorn however.

----------------------

Heltheain was wandering across the forest in search of... Well mostly a dying or young dragon, he had been misled to Everfree by some people he met on the way. He hadn't met one single dragon in this forest. He had continued wandering for several days eating animals. Due to his biomagically attributes his stomach could absorb the nutrients, thankfully. He had wandered for such a long time however that he had lost how to get out by now as well, which is the reason he was currently wandering around "If I ever get out of here and meet those ponies I'm gon-" he stopped as he realized, he had wished for their death. He shook his head, clearly the magic imbalance affecting his mind. Unknown to him though, he continued on just wandering and not hearing anything either. Just a straight path forward, though his eyes darted around the forest on full guard.

(Heathlife's post is mostly explaining how stuff influences the signature to make it so unique, one thing it doesn't touch upon is how everyone starts out with an almost perfect sphere before talents are identified and they do different stuff etc... Sorry for long post.)

Renee was still thinking this through until she faced the same blue dragon with a wonderbolt. Comparing their sizes, that dragon was much taller than that Pegasus. "Okay.. Shining didn't have time for this. He was on too important a mission to be distracted by social interaction. He turned to face the dragon, with which two other creatures were standing in front of. "Great. More distractions." He says with a deep sigh. A slight twitch in his right ear indicated that his words were being heard from something not visible. And a slight twitch in his right eye told him something was viewing his magical presence. "I'm tired of this nonsense. I have things to do." He said as his horn glowed with a dim blue again "Teleport." He mutters as he disappears from the group.

Missklang was sitting under the tree in the middle of Poniville. She was bored. Nothing had happened since a long time and all this boring routine was getting to her nerves. She was a bit hungry, though. That was a problem. She looked up to the tree. The tree appeared to be a normal oak tree.

Tsk, of all the apple trees in Poniville, I stumble on the very few non-apple ones... That's a shame.

She knocked the tree a few times. A small branch quickly grew on the tree, with a blooming flower that turned into an apple. As soon as Missklang levitated the apple to her, the branch died and fell off. And now she was holding an apple. While munching on it, she started looking around to see if there was anything worth looking at.

Heathlife cursed silently to the air as he noticed the magic signature of that interesting pony shivered a bit as it suddenly vanished "Teleportation... Out of my sight, he could probably detect my gaze. Only a handful can sense such extra dimensional spaces, interesting." even though he was slightly annoyed at the loss of a great research project he sighed and continued, he had found some herbs. He had forgotten to get a bag with him so he had to levitate all the herbs with him. Sad how it is, would probably not help him any either. He continued walking until he came to a cliff edge, he looked down upon the ground underneath it "About 50 meters I'd say? Quite the fall" he wondered what he could do, was he to go back or not. He decided he could simply go around it, the last herb he needed was in that part of the forest anyways. A long way to go though, upon the way he would also meet plenty of magical creatures. He'd just dodge their paths though, he sometimes did catch a glimpse of some massive magic, even more massive than that Unicorn from before. But this one, it didn't have a boundary. Quite dangerous to be near and at the rate its natural expansion is he'd rather stay as far away from it as possible. Even if it's body could only convert some of that magic it'd at least be at the same level of a small dragon if it was a pony, though a pony can barely hold that much magic in oneself. It would be interesting to see but he'd doubt it was a pony in the first place, it seemed more like one of those dragons who have lived for millenia. Those that have enough power to rival several Alicorns. Those that in the past needed to be served with utmost care if met, that'd be a terrifying sight to behold even for him in his current form. But even if they crossed paths hes sure he'd be able to at least escape.

----------

Heltheain was walking along the forest in complete confusion "Where does this begin and where does it end?!" he almost angrily shouted at everything near him releasing his full strength as he hit the ground making a sound similiar to a cabinet falling over on the floor. Like a crash it resounded and numerous birds fled from the noise. He became annoyed that there was nothing in this forest at all, If only he had a dragon's sense of smell. He could find a dragon in mere seconds! But that was not his to be had, it became more and more frustrating for him. Occasionally he'd find a rabbit or two and attacked them just to rid the boredom from himself. Then he suddenly stopped as a familiar sight was seen before his eyes. He saw a dragon, not very big one either.

@@Venomous@@Love Doctor Blaze,@@Mentis Soliloquy,

As he tried to walk forward he was startled to see... Whatever those two pony-like creatures were standing next to the dragon. He spoke lowly under his breath "Just my luck huh, a pacifist dragon. That'd be easy. But now again, I could just make him trust me and at the last moment attack... Or just find another one since this one ain't dying soon most likely, it'd be mean to go after him now... Wait, am I contradicting myself?" He seems to have conflicted feeling about whether to attack or not attack, something itching inside of him tells him its the right thing to do, something primal. An instinct, but his reasoning. His calm and friendly mind told him that the dragon wasn't a threat. So he sighed and decided to walk away but as he did he didn't noticed the stick just underneath one of his hooves which caused him to fall down and land behind-first in the open with his face landing flat on the ground, when he hit the ground he looked a bit annoyed at this... Unusual situation.

The hybrid pony was making his way to the edge of ponyville, near the entrance of everfree forest to be specific, with worry in his stomach.  His goal:  to observe the draconequus that visited that quiet Pegasus pony from time to time.  He doesn't do this often, mind you, but he does it often enough that he was able to see a pattern.  It usually was on a Tuesday or a Thursday, and it always lasted about 3 hours.  In his mind, he knew how creepy he was being, but he didn't have the nerve to approach them.  Bravery wasn't necessarily his strongest suit.

As he approached the large cavern he always crossed on his way there, he felt a strange presence about the air.  Now, normally this just meant that there was a large storm approaching this area of the Everfree forest, and that he should get out of the way, but this one felt a little off.  In spite of the difference, he decided to land under the foliage near the edge of the cliff (having just barely gotten close to the opening around the cavern).

Suddenly, he heard a voice...  It was coming from the edge of the cavern.  Having experience with watching from afar, he carefully investigated what was going on ahead of him.  His paw pushing back a bush branch carefully to reveal a pair of mysterious ponies...!

Better stay out of the way, for now.  This might get messy.  Exist thought to himself as he observed quietly and hidden to the best of his ability.

Missklang stood up and stretched her legs. Colorful sparks flew out of her joints as they cracked, ascending on the ground around her and coloring some grass blades into respective colors. After regaining her lucidity and waking her senses that were dimmed by the nap, she caught a nearby source of powerful magic. That was quite handy as she was bored, and powerful magic that wasn't Twilight here in Poniville meant that fun things are going to happen. She couldn't miss such an occasion, so she cast a quickly-made teleportation spell to the relative coordinates of the magic source. In a puff, she disappeared, leaving behind her a pink smoke and a small distortion of space-time-matter that looked like there was an invisible sphere that distorted the vision when looked through. The deformity and the smoke quickly disappeared, while Missklang appeared in another location from a similar deformity, which formed first, letting a small pink cloud appear around it with occasional sparks caused by the difference in charge between the cloud and the air. Missklang appeared in the air, without any support under her hooves. A single thought sparked in her mind about choosing the teleportation coordinates more carefully next time, before she fell down, right on the pony who was the source of the magic who happened to stand right underneath her.

Aw, you are the source of the magic! I sensed it from Poniville. I'm Missklang. I suppose you won't tell me your name. You like to keep the intrigue of a lone wanderer, aye? Well, I deliberately don't correct my spells to remove the distortions and space alterations. I like it more this way. More nice and take less magic to cast, even if it's not a problem. The smoke is natural. Chaos magic applied to a "normal" spell always have side effects. If I teleport on the beach, the sand in contact of the distortion radius would turn into glass... And don't criticize my spells when you must say out loud yours. Although, I do recall there was a branch of spoken magic. It didn't use the caster's mana and drained it from the surroundings. Could it be that? But what do I care, it's a spell at the end of the day.

Missklang jumped up and trotted after the blue pony.

But no, I don't need your attention, neither your time. You have a particular aura imprint. When you are in a company of same ponies all the time, their aura leave a trace on your own. You must have frequented alicorns a lot because I can see their traces. Interesting. I wonder why such an important pony would come here. But after all, it's Celestia's style to send her close protégés right in the heart of the action to solve problems, heh.

Missklang looked around, tripped and focused again on the pony.

But that's the point. If Celestia sent somepony powerful here on its own, that mean there is a problem! And I love problems! I am bored and that's just what I need to entertain me. But you don't need to acknowledge me, I will follow you anyway. You can't teleport from me. I picked you without even focusing. Now I read your aura and magical imprint, it's easier to track you down in the future. I just hope there is really a problem. Otherwise, I wake up for nothing.

Missklang giggled. And started looking around again trying to figure out where they were.

Even though he was being ignored by such inferior creature. Especially that newcomer, such sporadic magic signature, it'd be an easy task to shatter it if one knew of a spell and was strong enough to do so. That is why his goal is to always perfectize his own into a spherical shape. Although, it ain't that easy considering only about a tenth of his magic signature is actually trainable by using magic, that is why he did some alchemy and other doubtful work inbetween. In total alchemy added up to about a half of his magical signature's growth, though it is awfully slow compared to others... Such is his luck. It is also good that he can zone his own out to be able to see one extra which totalled in him being able to see five. But that was not important to remember at this moment.

He looked over at the herbs he had levitated with him and a huge aura outburst from his horn 'Might as well leave him with stuff he wanted' he thought loudly to himself inside of his head while the intensity of the aura decreased to such a level that it was barely able to be seen. Afterwards a bubble was created to contain his herbs, this bubble however also containted him. He then used a teleportation spell, he used it this way just to be sure he didn't have to levitate whilst teleporting. That'd be a hassle, but before he left he had instructed a magical inscription on the ground that when touched would start speaking words, these words were "While there are a lot of strong magical signatures in this forest. I've only ever seen two that resemble anything like you said. One was today, it was indeed a bit east. But it wasn't stable. I doubt you're looking for something unstable but this one's growth was extraordinary. If you want to check it out sometime, be my guest. It should belong to a dragon that has lived very long. Oh and the other signature I've seen at some points, they're always in the eastern parts... There seem to be some hindrance to my ability to accurately measure the power but the thickness of said magic signature's trails are quite something, while they're quite dense. Brimming with magic, it sometimes follow an unique rhythm of usage. As if said magic has aged over eons inside the body without any use. A normal living creature would die of magic corrosion. That is why magically enchanted objects often cease to function if left unpowered for very long. It also doesn't fluctuate much when it is being used. It doesn't have any unique shape, though it isn't spherical. Most likely due to talents left unpolished or not knowing exactly how to raise one's magical signature's size. It also has a certain unique feature only certain creatures such as Ancient dragons, Alicorns, Discord, Evolved creatures such as myself in our true form and the elements of harmony. It has uniform thickness throughout the magical trails. I hope it helped your search. But for myself, I have to finish getting my herbs so I can return to Canterlot. (Oh and I thought I had seen a magical signature your size before. But please, send my greetings to the princesses. Oh and just asking out of the void, I would guess the thing you're looking for is a living being? You being so skilled in magic should know the difference of a trail and a signature, although. Not to the degree of which I do ofcourse.)" To any one else but the pony he had addressed the last part to it was undecipherable. As if the very wave lengths of the magic it emitted only allowed access to someone of his unique condition.

The place he had teleported to was not that far away but it was indeed far away enough. It was pretty easy to utilize those low power spells at the same time. Low range teleportation, bubble shield and runic inscription magic to the air. The latter being something he had gained knowledge of when he ascended. It was troublesome without his numerous revisions to it. But onwards towards his herb he goes.

(Everything up there in a bracket is only for Shining. Also, A rune inscription magic. Basically writing runes, through magic. His very own variant writes it in magical shockwaves which resonates through one's signature (Some are unable to "hear" it) which can be adjusted if one can see the other person's so that they can privately chat... It is however not as powerful as the original variant.)

As the pony continued to watch the shenanigans unfold, he could tell where this feeling was coming from.  It was that strangely cloaked unicorn, or at least appeared to be a unicorn due to his teleportation abilities.  That other sporadic character on the other hand was not-with-standing.  He wasn't sure if he should approach just yet.  Conflict grew in his mind as he remembered what brought him here in the first place.  It was just... ponies!  Speaking with someone new was always difficult for him.

He wanted to find out more though.  Guh!  This is just like with Discord and Fluttershy!  I'm being such a baby.  I should just go and say hi, at least!  His paw pushed the bush out of the way, and he approached the two slowly.  The sun barely crest over the trees; shadows passed his mostly pegasus body as his paws touched the cold rock that stopped the grass dead at the edge of the woods.  I have to start being brave somewhere, why not now?  He could feel himself hesitating a bit, wondering how they would notice him and what they would think.

"Um, hello?"  He spoke in the most bravest voice he could: which really wasn't that much different from his normal voice albeit slightly quieter.
