It can't be coincidence that Santa is an anagram

Just shift the t with the n, and place the last a in between them, and you have "Satan".

Do people just don't care? There's even holiday tales of him stuffing kids in a sack and burning them in hell. Some also of that the coals he gives to kids are from hell, and that Santa is Satan. That can't be mere coincidence.

"Santa" actually means "saint",  "claus" is a shorthand for "nick" hence, "saint nick"

based on the actual saint nicolas, who gave gifts. Also, this may be the real coincidence, but popes and cardinals were well-known for wearing red silk and satin lined with a fluffy white trim:

Isn't an anagram a word or name spelled the same forward and backward? You do realize that Santa means Saint don't you?

*sigh* I really don't get some peoples need to demonize harmless holidays. If it bothers you so much, don't celebrate it.

Sinterklaas (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪntər'klaːs]) or Sint-Nicolaas (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪnt 'nikolaːs] (13px-Speaker_Icon.svg.png listen)) is a historical figure with legendary, and folkloric origins based on Saint Nicholas. Other names for the figure include De Sint ("The Saint"), De Goede Sint ("The Good Saint"), and De Goedheiligman ("The Good Holy Man") in DutchSaint-Nicolas in FrenchSinteklaas in Frisian; and Kleeschen and Zinniklos in Luxembourgish.

St. Nicholas' Eve is celebrated annually with the giving of gifts on 5 December, the night before Saint Nicholas Day in the Northern Netherlands and on the morning of 6 December, Saint Nicholas Day itself, in the (Roman Catholic) southern provinces, Belgium, Luxembourg and Northern France (French Flanders, Lorraine and Artois). He is also well known in territories of the former Dutch Empire, including Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, and Suriname.

He is the primary source of the popular Christmas icon of Santa Claus.

Please just stop with this literal "SANTA IS LITERALLY SATAN" garbage

As many have already said, "Santa" is latin for "Saint"

  • 3 years later...

I actually do think the whole idea of Santa is from Satan, used as a way to distract people from the birth of Jesus Christ. I think it's fine to give presents and to let kids believe in Santa, but the birth of Jesus Christ should be the main priority for Christians.

There are so many things wrong with this. First, 'santa' literally means saint in Latin. Second, Christmas is a Pagan holiday. The Roman holiday Saturnalia is held in the winter, conveniently the same time as Christmas. This was to make things easier to integrate other people into Christianity. Third, Jesus was not born in December. He was born in the hemispherical north's springtime, likely in March or April. Fourth, the holiday after which Christmas is modeled is, functionally, about giving gifts.

So no, Santa has literally nothing to do with Satan. Stop spreading this kind of ignorance.

At least they managed to get a ridiculous looking fat elf to steal the spotlight from Jesus, with promise of fun toys for the children (when we can all enjoy).

Thank god for Easter, still being a day of Jesus? Or has that holiday also been twisted? I actually don't know.
