Much of the past thousand years remains shrouded in mystery so I hope this story arc addresses some of the bigger mysteries that help tie Equestria together.

Yes, seems Equestria's history will play a central role in S7, as Equestria's past is a theme in common with these comics which have been said they'll tie to the upcoming season.
