I meant to say that he wasn't going to appear in the movie. As Discord has become a major recurring character in the show, yet isn't going to appear, means the same could happen with Starlight in the 2017 film. Season 7 will presumably be out by then and the movie itself seems to be a new story entirely that has never been addressed directly in the main show.
