This is undoubtedly an American Crisis.

After reading this, just remember, there is NO WAY the government has any right to repeal these privacy laws put in effect during Obama's presidency, and this bill MUST BE STOPPED. Once it goes to the House of Representatives, it is the last chance to stop the bill before it goes to Trump, and we all see the evidence that Trump is too incompetent to do ANYTHING right in the Oval Office, and cant be trusted to do the right thing about this.

This is not up for debate. What Ajit Pai is doing as FCC Chairman is completely and utterly wrong, and I let him know it if he read the e-mail I sent him (probably didn't.

Right-wing corporatist snowflake can't handle criticism). Limiting site access for business reasons is objectively immoral. Period.

If you are able to say otherwise, I question your humanity.

Ooooo, he is gonna protect our privacy in a 'different way'? He might want to not be a complete dumbass and specify what that is before trying to destroy Internet privacy outright. This actually sounds quite similar to the last times they tried to do this kind of thing, they used the drama from other issues to hide and sneakily vote this in. This will be signed by Trump for certain, anything that gives his people more power and control is something he will gladly take.

Reading over it, it doesn't seem like a great idea to remove privacy laws if there's nothing to even replace it. While it would be nice to treat telecom and Internet broadband as a market, it really isn't – companies can't try to dig into your data in efforts to market for you. Yes, they have been doing it for years anyway, but the repeals are enabling them to continue these unconstitutional acts. Also, in some areas, there is little to no competition for who you choose as your broadband; if Cox Communications is the only company nearby you're forced to choose it.

There's also the roll back of net neutrality, which seems like a good way to polarize our media even more than ever and force us to look as sources that companies have catered us to look at.
