Grtxkkyz 388 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 How do you think Derpy sees the world???I once read that carnivores have eyes oriented forwards, which allows them to hunt their prey better. But Derpy isn't a meat-eater.So,does that mean her eyesight may be different from that of other ponies??? Love4discord18 269 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 I'm not sure where you got this from. Derpy simply has weird eyes, to correspond with her name. I'm sure she sees the same as any other pony. ~If You Want Me To Reply To Your Post, Quote My Post~ ( Siggy by me. Pix3M 607 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 I'm not following your logic. Besides, I'm pretty sure the carnivores you're talking about have their eyes forward so they can focus on their prey, while other animals have their eyes to the side (e.g. pigeons) so they have a 360 degree view of their world, so carnivores can't sneak up on them so easily. I read that people with lazy eye are like that because their brains use only one eye. I guess derpy is functionally one-eyed. 1 My deviantArt page

Proctra Music 335 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 She sees more then us. She is a wise pony for this. She sees not one view but many all at once.
Luurilka 325 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 But no ponies are carnivores... "Reducing existential risk — that is, carefully and thoughtfully preparing to not kill ourselves — may be the greatest moral imperative we have." - Lukeprog
Abstract 832 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 Well, one could possibly assume her eyesight is far from perfect, from the general mishaps she has that could very well be eyesight related. Or perhaps she's simply true to her name and sees everything perfectly. The world may never know. "Let the steel of my resolve be not bested by the sum of my fears." JhonHipster 124 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 she can see more of the world then most, and also means she sees more of bad. this causes damage to her brain and that is why she is a little, mentally disabled. idk just my opinion. lets hope this works

XXVYNIKK 145 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 Normal actually, to some whose ho have those kind of thing, like me only hearing out of one hear. They get used to it, I don't think it feels different, I feel the same. She can probably see the same. Think about it, when you do the cross-eyed eyes. It doesn't feel different. Crystal Sparkle 344 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 Derpy's just a little loose in the head...nothing really's wrong with her eyesight. ~I love the way Storm Spark makes love to me! Apple Bloom 2,933 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 Realistically, I would imagine she sees it something like this: But that's kind of sad so I like to think she see's the world just as any other pony does. 1 Signature by @Nico. Nas 2,873 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 Here's what happened: Right after the Equestrian timeline of The Last Roundup, the annoying soccer moms ssomhow found the almighty portal to Equestria, in their ultimate and dedicated quest to fix her eyes. Once they found Derpy, they used their magical Soccer Mom fixer-upper powers to underp her eyes, and used their Super-Duper Socccer Mom Timeshift to skewer the Equestrian time period to before the events of the Last Roundup. Then, the episode was recorded as usual, and the Soccee Moms, satisfied with their mission now complete, returned to their own world to find that their trolling was a magnificent success. My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Where that journey is headed now, who knows...
The Other Mike 10 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 I actually have a lazy eye so I can kinda relate to Derpy. I can only process the sight out of one of my eyes at a time so I have no depth perception but otherwise my eyesight is fairly normal. My non-dominant eye usually doesn't "derp" unless I'm really tired or I intentionally let it. 3-d movies are absolutely useless to me but otherwise I don't notice it. Vega 107 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 I think she has even better eyesight than a normal pony; perhaps even 360 degree vision. But then again, I think she has mechanical implants for eyes.
Apple Bloom 2,933 May 14, 2012 Share May 14, 2012 Something else I found: Derpy Hooves is not blind. She suffers from a rare condition known as Bozeman Simplex. She actually sees 25.62 times as much as we do. 2 Signature by @Nico. Come join us for movies and more! Every Friday on Equestria.tv

Now that's special, I mean, c'mon, the only other pony who could pull off physics-defying crap like that is Pinkie Pie!!! Keep being you Derpy, just the way we love ya! 2 "You'll hunt me. lazyd3vil 3 May 16, 2012 Share May 16, 2012 (edited) nananananananananananananananana BATMAAAAARE... anyway, I don't get it. So you've found a TV trope that gives her a very nice explanation. Pandy_C 30 May 16, 2012 Share May 16, 2012 I like to think she's like a chameleon and her eyes can move independantly giving her 360 degree vision and the ability to track two objects at one. (See the Derpy and the lava lamp animation!) As a result she only gets depth perception when she focusses on one thing, which means accidents and tumbles when she's got more than one thing to track.
