  1. Big Brother The Only Way is Essex Even Gargoyles? Heresy!
  2. I like to think she's like a chameleon and her eyes can move independantly giving her 360 degree vision and the ability to track two objects at one. (See the Derpy and the lava lamp animation!) As a result she only gets depth perception when she focusses on one thing, which means accidents and tumbles when she's got more than one thing to track.
  3. *tinfoil hat again* That would be the mind control gasses in the air-con
  4. *puts on tinfoil hat* The system (and by that I mean capitalism) only works if people keep buying things. Young people have a lot of dispoable income (jobs and/or pocket money and no massive costs like rent, water, electric etc) By using TV, movies music videos, and advertising, large companies persuade you that hanging out in the mall is fun. In the mall are shops, and when you get hungry you might go but food. Or even better the advertising might work and you might feel the need to buy some trainers or a DVD. *removes tinfoil hat*
  5. Dark Knight Returns. Bale is inherently unlikeable, the story is a mess, and I doubt there'd be such high praise for Ledger if he hadn't died so tragically young.
  6. Rainbow Dash - "Smashing through both karma and fate! Raging wave combining...Sonic RAINBOOM!!!"
  7. Does anyone use those "genre" terms apart from the bands themselves? Bat For Lashes get airplay on mainstream British radio along with the rest of the indie synth/pop stuff. Try some old stuff like Laurie Anderson: http-~~-//youtu.be/vzYu88jIDYs or Barnes and Barnes http-~~-//youtu.be/JKDtUzRIG6I
  8. Maybe. But you have to be pretty good to impress a God Queen Princess. And we know Celestia was able to teleport another pony to the moon over one thousand years ago I'm not sure practice is an issue.
  9. I'm not entirely sure of the point you're making here. Could you spell it out a bit plainer please?
  10. I don't watch TV, and we get different adverts here on the other side of the Atlantic. I totally missed the reference *headesks in shame*
  11. Please sign me up for this movement. Although I won't petition for a position or rank - From each according to his ability! *hums The Red Flag*
  12. My favourite mythological creature is The Honest Politician. *rimshot* But seriously? I've always liked unicorns. Thunderbirds are awesome too from native American Myth.
  13. How so? I mean it's no different from noticing that two of your friends (or two film stars) would make a cute couple. You don't have to write (or read) smutty fanfic to support a particular pairing.
  14. I see 3 possible motive/plans Self-promotion: Rex is an artist of some sort and is using this opportunity to entertain people and get his work out there Challenging Phoenix: There's been some controversy over Phoenix's methods, and allegations of pepper-spraying protestors. Rex is calling for accountability Actual villiany: Hahahahah. Nope I'm banking on the first one.
  15. Since no-one else has posted it, have you seen the latest twist to this? A blaggard called Rex Velvet has appeared on the Seattle scene as a self-proclaimed super-villain!
  16. The show has to end one day (if only so they can do the "nothing last forever" moral/lesson). If they do that, having each pony go off to pursue their dream - like Dash joining the Wonderbolts - would be a great way to do it. But having an epilogue where the ponies meet up again a year later to catch up and see how they are all doing (and making it clear they do this regularly) would be a way to turn it from sad, to awesome (and still a bit sad). Obviously Dash would now be captain of the Wonderbolts and would be trying to strike a deal with Rarity over new uniforms or something
  17. With the exception of Trixie (I don't like boasters) and Granny Smith (too deaf), I can't think of any of the adult pony cast that it wouldn't be fun to spend time with.
  18. OK so we've established it's probably flirting. The next thing is, are you OK with being hit? If youi are, then fair enough, but if you are not - tell her! Unwanted physical touching is a serious issue. And just because it's girl on guy doesn't make it OK. Unless you like that sort of thing, obviously
  19. I wonder how much of the brony-hate is an attempt to get free publicity and website hits. Not necessarily the thread quoted, but a scathing attack on a very popular subculture will drive up traffic on a website (either from fellow trolls or from the subculture in question leaping to defend themselves) and increase their ego/advertising revenue. In the case above though, it just seems like many, many people are quite happy to reinforce gender stereotypes by mocking anyone who strays from a very rigid definition of "what boys can like" and "what girls can like".
  20. Not much of a difference that I've seen. The "slash" normally refers to same sex pairings, hence "slash fiction". But I've occasionally seen it for hetero pairings too. I don;t know of any significant difference between using a + or an x.
  21. While the Queen of the Changelings is definitely my favourite new character (I added her to my "to cosplay" list), I thought Its About Time was the best of the episodes. The predestination paradox was great, the future-war Twilight look was amazing, and it was still entertaining enough to keep me hooked even though we all knew exactly how it would end. But really the only episode I didn't like was Sweet and Elite, and that's only because it used a couple of tropes I find uncomfortable to watch.
  22. I stopped watching TV a year or two ago, but I've been buying the Burn Notice DVDs. I love the cast and their chemistry, and really enjoy the spy stuff voiceovers Michael does during the show.
  23. I'm mostly OK with the toys. I have some of the blindbag toys (including a generic pegasus I painted to be Derpy), and a brushable Fluttershy. The only things I want are the new Zecora, and a molded hair Fluttershy that actually looks like her. The recoloured Dashie claiming to be her is awful! Even a winged version of the Pinkie Pie mold would be closer! Actually it's not Hasbro at fault here. Blame the big toy stores like Toys R Us. Their bulk buyers have this crazy idea in their head that girls (or rather parents and relatives of girls) won't buy things unless they are pink. or in the words of Lauren herself: EDIT: Actually it's not the pink that bothers me with Celestia, it's the gender-stereotyped nonsense that she says when you press her button. Celestia is a great role model for girls in the show, but her toy is only interested in brushing her hair and looking pretty.
  24. Copyright and trademark law is incredibly compex. Any of Hasbro's lawyers could find a reason to shut down any fan-produced content at any time. Mostly they turn a blind eye as it's free advertising for the toys, and a good way to keep a loyal fanbase. If you are making artwork that isn't for sale, you will probably be OK. And really the first thing they'll do if they are unhappy is demand you remove the content from the internet. As ever, consult a lawyer for specifics (and even then Hasbro's lawyers could probaly find an exception or argue case law to overturn anything they suggest)
