Will Larson, Meghan, or AKR ever come back?

Poor for larson, sadly. He's got his book to work on and promote, and his recent interview was pretty negative towards the current state of things on MLP's creative processes, almost disowning the upcoming episode with his name on it as being divorced from his original intent. (Still wondering what that one will turn out to be).
His plate being full coupled with that makes me think its not going to happen.

meghan will still be around, and She'll probably have a MUCH bigger hand in things than she has during the movie, but she'll never be as close to the show as before, having her hands full with her new job (and I doubt she's going to lose it anytime soon). She might occasionally get a single special episode or whatnot snuck in her schedule to help out directly on the show, but that's about it IMO.

I doubt it. Larson made some of the best episodes, so I would love to see him return, but it's not likely, and AKR, I can't see her returning either, she had other things to do.

Though I've been vocal concerning people who like to suggest Meghan has been an absentee landlady over the last few seasons, and make the nonsensical logic leap that when her role as EP of the film she will steward Season 8 to greatness, it isn't unthinkable that she could pen an episode or two herself.

Of course, the only analog we have to her doing that is Vogel, who stepped down from his Hasbro VP of Development role to do other things with Pony.

However, I believe she will continue doing what she has been doing (which is creative guidance over the brand with approval authority), rather than stepping back into a role that has less career visibility.

Larson's name will be on an episode this season, but he really didn't do anything with that episode according to him. That said, he would probably write for the show in later seasons (after season 8 since all writing assignments have been made) -- if it made sense for him to do so.

AKR works for a better company. Disney is like, her dream job! No way she comes back unless she is tossed out by Disney.

The odds feel low for McCarthy. Given that Larson's writing books (and was critical of the show's current creative approaches) and AKR has a full-time gig with Disney, I don't see them coming back.

One dude on EQD guessed Campfire Tales (sixteenth episode).

Aye. I think Campfire Tales makes the most sense. It sounds like a old episode idea that was tabled -- like something he pitched for season 5 (or earlier) hence his credit.

Meghan will probably come back after the movie is dealt with. She's been busy working on that for most of the time, so once the movie's out of the way, she'll probably return to the show and resume being head writer again.

But she's got a BETTER job than that now as being over *ALL* girls shows, not just MLP. that'd be a demotion.

When you put it that way, I guess she does have a better job now once the movie's behind her with overlooking all girl shows. Sorry for if I said something wrong in my original post.

Larson is kind of a wild card, while I don't see it happening anytime soon, he's still free to come and go as he pleases. AKR I don't see happening as working with Disney is pretty much a dream job to her, while Meghan is already too busy to keep working on the show, even after the movie is done.

Honestly I don't think the show needs these three to be good, as nice as it would be to see them back. I think they just need someone competent overseeing everything. Despite being almost entirely made up of new writers, it's clear that there's a lot more care put into the episodes this season as opposed to S6, with several episodes that could've bombed hard end up being some real high notes for both the season and the series, and even the weak episodes never reaching the low points of S6, which really, really, screwed the pooch on so many episodes, many of which were really important ones

Let's be real, going back to MLP from Disney would be a step DOWN.

I don't think this season is going to have an episode as bad as S6's Applejack's Day Off, Newbie Dash, or 28 Pranks Later.

Who knows. I'd imagine Meghan might do something here and there when she can, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot from her. I doubt that AKR will unless she lost her job at Disney, which I don't forsee. Larson is an interesting one. Someday he might get enough time to, but even if he could, I don't know that he would. He has some pretty good stuff going for him, so I don't know that he'd necessary choose to come back, but it's not impossible.

Hmm interesting. Where can I read the interview?

Either way, thanks for the advice. Appreciate it.

Larson wrote some good episodes, but I never really loved him and while it would be neat having him back, I wouldn't need it.

I don't want Meghan ever coming close to being the show head again, that would mean she would be writing the premieres and finales, and Meghan will ignore plotholes and consistency for the sake of a cool moment, that said I LOVE the two parters she did make, I just don't think we need more of her style, let the (imo) superior writers Johanna and Kristen breathe as the current showrunners

AKR was special, writing some of the best episodesof the show, I doubt she will come back but would love it if she did!

I would fairly easily rank Larson as my favorite writer on the show, but the show can live without him.

I don't know what happened. He left just before season 6, which was... flawed, and he changed his job to
story editor in season 5, so maybe he didn't like his new role...? Whatever happened it's obvious he really doesn't want to come back, and there's some bad feelings there.

Megan is good where she is to be honest. I feel she's been really good as an editor and loremaster, where as her writing credits have been very variable.
