movies/tv Love hate relationship with the television series Rick and Morty!?!

Before I say anything I would like to state that I know you'll probably have a different opinion or view on this, or shockingly maybe even feel the same way, I have a best friend who loves the TV series Rick and Morty, I thought I'd check it out and I definitely have mixed feelings about what I've seen (by the way I only watched three/four episodes or something so my view will probably sound confusing to someone who adores the show and frequently watches it)  there were some things I liked and somethings I very much disliked, the first thing I noticed was that the content of this show is very violent (not VERY shocking but some images and scenes just flabbergasted me and weren't necessary at all whatsoever) the second thing is the vibe and way the show carries itself, very dark, harsh, and realistic yet absolutely ridiculous in the most ingenious way, I liked that a bit because I found it clever, but in watching all this I was trying to find positive morals and sentimental moments which it very much lacked, there were a few short lived (and honestly super fake) moments of this, but I also found that Rick Sanchez is a very complex and complicated character who nobody knew the intention of, I like and dislike the concept of rick at the same time, he's super harsh and doesn't sugarcoat anything one bit, but he's also doing things for the greater good I believe, I think he cares but he can't display it because of his reputation in the universe, the complexity and realistic themes with so much rubbish wrapped around it is fascinating to me, almost addictive

with that being said the characters have great development, the concept is intriguing, and the attitude is brutal and harsh.

I love the show, but I get you. I tried introducing my best friend to it a few months ago since all of our mutual friends really enjoy it, and he didn't like it for the excess gore and violence, which to be fair, was the first exposure he really had to it by my hands (whoops). Which of the four episodes did you watch? The first four or a random assortment of episodes? There are sincere sentimental scenes in the series, but they are also all pretty short lived. "M. Night Shaym-Aliens!", "Meeseeks and Destroy", "A Rickle in Time" and "The Wedding Squanchers" are usually the ones people point at to prove that Rick loves his family dearly, but hides it under his abrasive and crude demeanor.

There are other episodes that show the bond between Rick and Morty in a less sad way. The "Interdimensional Cable" duology is just Rick and Morty hanging out, watching weird TV and making comments about it in a chill, laidback way. It's pretty sweet in a way, just seeing the two enjoy each others company in a relaxed way. The last episode aired also shows how much Rick cares about Morty, albeit in a pretty messed up way (It is there darkest adventures, after all).

What moments did you think were 'fake', if you don't mind me asking.

Counteractive coherence. Unexpectancy. Fear is predictable. Predictability counteracts unexpectancy, which defies the equation.

Incoherence is not interesting in my perception, neither is ignorance/fear. Fascination, not possible. Not without ignorance. My mind is not compartmentalized by ethics, morals or beliefs. Anything that overdoes exposure, only triggers my disbelief, rendering this aspect of reality ineffective.

It also happens with other aspects of life, without balance. Given Rick and Morty lacks balance as well, being ineffective.

I saw a few episodes of it sometime last year and wasn't in love with it. Like all I remember is a rape joke and grossness and shock humor. I'm sure it's a more intelligent show than Family Guy and American Dad, but it's hard for me to like a show that does that kind of stuff.

I can't say I care about the show. Quality looks decent, and so does the humor. But, eh. I can't be assed to watch it. Got too much shit to watch already.

Season 3 is mostly better. Depends what you watch it for. Season 1 n 2 had some low brow and cliché moments n stuff. It had good moments too. And if theres a problem with season 3 its the desensitization I suppose. It seems a little hollow, like, it does have deep stuff and a point, but its lacking alot of those feel good moments and stuff other shows may have, but those are all clichés anyways. Honestly I like the creativity more than the humor usually, and you can tell humor is a mask for deeper opinions and concepts. Or rather, it can be viewed that way even if its not intended.

All things that interact with the world exert a force. All things that exert a force have an opposite and equal force. Ergo, nothing immaterial exists [because where would the opposite force be without material as a medium?]. Ergo god doesn't exist immaterially. Also if the universe were infinite itd take infinite time for a god to make it. If it were finite it'd be subject to entropy. Which means an eternal god can't exist.
