They look great! Decisively approved.

Is Mindie the proto-thaumism/history teacher and Tachibana the enchantment/animism teacher?

Almost. Give history to Mindy.

On top of that, I expect them to also teach classes on their respective elements.

Application

age: 24

race: Pelajae

magic: special case (exorcist/demonologist.) and Dark.

Personality: like Matt Ryan’s portrayal of John Constantine.

Since it’s his first time at the university he’s a first year. However he is pretty much a third year in skill level due to self study outside the university.

Yep, that's how it usually works. Mindie is a weather manipulator, I take it?

Everything looks in order. Feel free to post.

Presumably. That's what controlling lightening and wind will get you, right?

Though now that I've thought about it, why are we having so many different elemental classes? Wouldn't those classes be useless to anyone who didn't have that element?

Element-specific classes are only taken by those who use that element, but the classes are only specialised into the four Greek classical elements (plus light, dark, and special variants of magic, but they don't count as elements, strictly speaking).

I would consider both Mindie and Tachi specialised air elementals (one specialising in weather and the other specialising in air-vibration - sound - manipulation) and Angel obviously a specialised earth elemental, so they could teach students who share the same general element their specialised techniques to give the students a well-rounded education on how versatile their element is.

So, in summary, I'm thinking Mindie teaches air manipulation (particularly weather manipulation, since that's a fairly common specialisation), proto-thaumism, and history, Tachi teaches advanced air manipulation (since sound manipulation would involve very delicate and precise control over the air), enchantment, and animism, and Angel teaches earth manipulation (particularly metal manipulation, since that's a fairly common specialisation), health, and first aid. Sound like what you had in mind for them?

Swap animisim and proto-thaum and you'd be accurate.

But if memory serves, we don't have any mezzomancers to take Miko and mindie's classes.

True.

Hrm.

If no students join as wind or water elementals for either of our specialised-element classes, we'll just have to stick to teaching our general non-magical classes.

I think the only classes we've got enough students for are light and dark, with the exception of Katarina for Angel's geomancer class.

True that, unfortunately.

Ah, well, we'll just have to stick to more generic classes like history and rune theory, it seems.

Remember you can still help any class because you as a teacher is really teaching how to control magic, aspects of magic and all that o3o

But how can my storm and sound teachers aid in explaining light and dark magic?

I think what Arid means is that all magic control is based on the same general principles of focus and exertion of your will over your magic, and thus even wind mages can teach beginner light/dark students how to keep their magic in check to some extent.

So essentially, all the other teachers are gonna be more like class assistants. Or we'll essentially be teaching intro to general magic 101.

Assistant teachers, general magic 101 teachers, and also generic-subject teachers.

That's why most of the teachers have relatively mundane subjects in addition to magical subjects; so they have history or first aid or rune-theory classes to fall back on if no magical students join the RP for them to teach. History, first aid, rune theory, and the rest of the 'mundane' subjects are for all students to learn, so the teachers will always have a class even if no students of their element join the RP.

Well I get that. There just aren't many magical classes at the magical academy.

Which would be all of the Mezzonmancer, audiomancer, and most of the Geomancer classes.

Yes, but since no other RPers are actually involved in those classes, it is an option for you to simply gloss over them with a well-placed 'her fourth-period class gave way to lunch with little ceremony' or some such statement.
