Seriously, Google it! :D

Common belief is, the Cornish tin miners of years ago were given these baked pastries by their wives for lunch, containing a diced or minced meat and 2 diced vegetables, let's just say potato and onion just for example, but also at one end would be a fruit filling say stewed apple, so then one half of it is an apple pie. The 'D' shape was supposed to make it easier to eat, or, the muck on their hands was toxic so it could just be held by the edge of the crust which could then be discarded.

Modern ones you buy here don't have apple in tho. Bit of a shame, could be int'rresting.....

Educational here innit ..... :D

Today's – much like a Sunday lunch, 'cause I got things leftover; the other half of the pasty,  baked potatoes & parsnips, steamed brocolli, bit of bread & English mustard, and I made some gravy for a bit of a change, with hal a teaspoon of Garam Masala added to it for variety.

British gravy is not like American gravy, it doesn't have 'lumps' in it, and doesn't go anywhere near any biscuits (unless purely just by chance). :D

Sausage casserole (yes again!) Sausages, half an onion, briefly fried, mushrooms, red pepper, Colemans casserole mix, dash of Korean pot noodle spice sachet, the usual stuff (no pix). :D  With tea.
