Anyways I met this dude online today, and since we both had "rainbow dash" as our username, we knew each other were at least fans of the show. We had a rather interesting - and slightly creepy - conversation. He seemed so, dark and mysterious and overly serious about the show. He went on about this talk about dedicating your entire life to MLP, creating order and templars of bronies to fight and serve ponies. "Once you join us, there is no turning back, we will be the true warriors". Ok, I love the show and the ponies and everything they stand for. In fact, the show changed me a great deal and my attitude towards other people. But seriously, I feel like this dude is either trolling or taking MLP waaaaaaay too far. What do you think? To be fair, I've seen my fair share of crazy stuff in this fandom. Yes, to be clear, there are people who are that obsessed over the show. Not going to lie, I was somewhat one of them a few years ago in lets say 2013-2014. I don't believe I've ever encountered anyone like that before, I'd say that was probably more common to come across them back in the early days of the fandom rather than now, considering that everything has simmered down and Bronies in general don't get as much attention as they used to. I ecounter some crazy brony activities on myself and so I confess myself to have curious and entertaining activities. First of all is looking for fanarts, but only Starlight ones, because I like her the most (so much, that I claim I love her). In 1 month I had saved over 1 000 unique pictures of her, in unique vectors, styles of art and situations showed. I do not save shipping or R34 pictures, because those ones are against my ideology. I mainly save on disk images of her as a happy and with S6 mane and beyond. Second thing is sleeping with her Happy Meal figure (the only Starlight I have in "real life"). But the third thing is the most interesting: In my spare time I literally imagine my own stories with Starlight and me, as a pony, who had came from the human world to not interact with other people, because of the how bad the human world is and how awesome the pony world is... and um, what I can say more. Did I mention that I watched Starlight episodes only from S6 E14 to S8 E13? Ah, confessions are the best way to make yourself relaxed, so here I am now, relaxed and said what I really feel. P. S. I see nothing wrong with finding a lifestyle/value set from a show so long as its productive. But you also have to know when to and how to voice it. I like to balance what I do, particularly because there's plenty of other stuff out there in the world to experience instead of cooping yourself up in just a handful of things. (Though I say "experience the world", but realistically I just mean consuming other media ). But, if one is doing so and is neither harming others, nor the obsession leads down a path of self-destruction, then I cannot really complain.
