I'm "half similar" to you. I'm blind in one eye (although it is replaced with a glass eye, so no one notices), so I cannot play VR. Just a fun fact.

There was a medieval game back in 2013 that was almost released. If you bought it, you would have gotten nothing. No characters, no maps, no cosmetics, nothing. You would have had to literally purchase EVERYTHING online. The scary thing is is that rumors have it that the CEO of Valve looked back at this unreleased game and raised an eyebrow in interest.

Literatel literally just wrote some literature, as always. ;)

I am neither for nor against. If a game has them for cosmetics and whatnot, yeah whatever. If they do hold an unfair advantage against non payed players, that's a big no no.

Microtransactions?! You mean the game killer? It is like giving a game deadly drugs – it will kill the game and its players’ wallets. If a game has microtransactions, it sucks. Why do so many modern games have it then? *in a slightly angry tone* Because game developers these days want to get more money. It doesn’t matter why they want more money, because the way they are getting it is manipulative and uncool. If you buy something, anything, you buy it in full unless otherwise stated. You don’t buy half of a candy bar or Ford truck, you buy the whole thing. Add-ons in games are like buying an extra candy bar or an additional feature to the Ford-truck, it isn’t a bad. On the other hand, microtransactions in games is like selling someone a candy bar with only half the bar and withholding the other half until they pay extra, or like selling someone a Ford truck with dirt-brown paint and charging extra to change it.

For example, Fortnite sold their game for free, with the only microtransactions being aesthetical items. You can even earn a few decent looking backpacks and emotes without spending a dime. However, in it your only character skins are the noob skins, the green-brown skins, and you can never earn any other character skins unless you pay. What are you going to do? Spend money to buy other skins of course, it is the only way to get another skin. You are forced to, since many other people in the game have super-cool looking skins and you are stuck with a ‘garbage can’. As a result, every Fortnite player who plays for at least a month has spent more money than those who have bought PUBG for $20 or so. Isn’t that messed up or what?

Don't get me started on other modern-day games, I've had enough.

I don't mind them if they're for cosmetics and don't change the flow of gameplay at all, like how TF2 does it (Sure, you can buy weapons off of the store page, but with the random item drop system, you don't ever need to be a certain level to use them and can use them immediately once you get it).

As for Loot Boxes, I usually avoid them, and really only open them if I get one that I can open for free.

They’re money making scams for the game companies and I really can’t stand them.

I can't stand them if they're in full-priced games since they basically want more money from you after you bought the game, but if it was a free to play game and it was not pay to win, I'd accept it more easily.

Pretty much this. What happened to the old days of gaming when you bought a game for full-price and got everything in it? Back when you didn't have to pay extra to get this or that? I think games becoming too reliant on microtransactions hurts the game in the long run, because what often happens next after microtransactions have been in place for a while, pay to win features are introduced, and that just ruins the gaming experience for everyone. See the Fallout franchise of games and how downhill those have gone after microtransactions and pay to win features became prominent game functions.
