What Are The Themes of Each Season?

NOTE: THERE MAY LIKELY BE SPOILERS FOR SEASON 8.

What the theme(s) of each Season is. What in your opinion, is each Season about? Like, for example:

The theme of Season 1 was coming together and forming strong bonds of friendship with others.

What about you guys?

My take on it is:

Season 1 - The same as what you had said. Coming together and forming strong bonds of friendship with others.

Season 2 - Communicating with those you trust.

Season 3 - Understanding others.

Season 4 - Learning to take extra responsibility.

Season 5 - Stepping out of your comfort zone and doing what's right.

Season 6 - Helping others overcome their problems.

Season 7 - Speaking up when you're facing difficulties.

I haven't finished viewing Season 8 yet, so I'm unable to decide.

Here's my take on it:

• Season 1: Coming together and making friends.
• Season 2: How the things we do and say can hurt our loved ones and how we can strengthen our friendships by overcoming conflict.
• Season 3: Proving one's self worth and values when faced with difficult decisions.
• Season 4: Maturity; Adjusting to and accepting changes in life; Testing one's character and morals.
• Season 5: Learning how to offer friendship to others and forgiving people who have wronged you.
• Season 6: Learning how to trust others and prove trustworthiness.
• Season 7: Revisiting the past, but learning from the mistakes made, not letting yourself be defined by the past, and learning how to live in the present.
• Season 8: Making the transition from student to teacher. Passing on what you have learned to someone else.

To be honest, I haven't thought much about it before... But I'd say the themes you listed are quite fitting for each season. Especially seasons 1, 4 and 8. I'd say the events that had the biggest effect on future seasons of the show were Twilight's ascension, Starlight's reformation (and her subsequently becoming a lead character) and the founding of the School of Friendship. Though in each case, the following season had episodes unaffected by these events, such as season 8 having many episodes unrelated to the school (especially in the first half of the season).
