@Lord Valtasar

Granite looked at Solumn as she laid out her plan. She sent Emerald up to the door and Splashee outside for a distraction. All he had to do was find a place to watch the guards. After hearing his options, he replied,

“I’d rather stay outside. I can hide better out here and I can alert you guys of any changes,”

Granite sat and waited for Solumn to pick him up so he could go to the park with everyone. He still despised not being able to travel on his own, but he was thankful he was getting assistance.

Don’t follow them. Go far from here. Let your pain flow out.

The presence he tried so hard to drown and block out returned once again. Thorns managed to crawl back up to the surface right when Granite’s companions were present once more. He resisted the urge to leave, but the urge kept getting harder to fight.

"The section you are looking for is in the back of the library, in the aisle that is asymmetrically built", Splashee pointed out to Solumn. "Not sure how much safer it is out here compared to in there. Are you sure I shouldn't go inside with you, Miss?" (@Lord Valtasar)

she was worried a bit for his state, but maybe it was best if he was inside, maybe they could enlist the crows to distract the guards when Granite tells them it's needed since Granite himself was unlikely to outrun them, he'd be their eyes "i'll leave it up to you, i'm not the boss here or anything, i'm open to any suggestions, if you three think you can carry the book i can even be the one to stay outside after opening the door for you"

"I think myself and Emerald are the fastest and smallest to handle anything inside including carrying the book", Splashee responded. He knew that splitting up was the most dangerous thing, as they were just reunited from being completely separated. "Maybe it is even better if we all gambled on getting inside, together as a team; even Granite as he could easily hide in a bookshelf without being noticed by passing guards?" He said paranoidly.

"yes but then we have no eyes on the outside" she said "wait here, i'll go ask my new.. "friends" for a favor" she went towards the entrance and waved Soft Shade to come closer(the crow) after talking for a bit, she returned to the others

"He agreed to help, Shad would be our eyes and alarm on the outside" she motioned to wards the crow to let them know who Shad was, he had bargained quite strongly but he agreed in the end, it was a big risk for him since his nest was here after all "we all go in then, and no time like the present, let's go"

@Splashee He thought about Splashee’s idea, thinking it would be useful for him to be in the library with everyone instead of being vulnerable outside. He’d have a closer eye on things and he wouldn’t be able to wander off as easily.

“Sure, I could hide inside, Splashee. Hopefully no one will take a book of the section I sit in, heh,” he responded. He thought about where the best spot in the library to hide would be. He imagined sitting in between two thick books on a high shelf, observing everything below him. He wasn’t sure where this would be exactly, but he knew these conditions would help him see the guards better and prevent himself from getting caught.

Don’t go inside. Find a place to hide. Let pain seep out.

The peculiar desire to leave flared up again, forcing Granite out of his prior thoughts. All of his focus shifted, his new goal suddenly seeming more important than anything. He turned around, preparing to sneak away. The pull once again tugged on him, but it was stronger and almost painful. He wasn’t sure how a metaphorical pull could hurt, but that didn’t matter, he could release all the pain later.

After a few feet ahead, he looked back, making sure no one had followed him. As soon as he looked, he realized he was in an episode again. There was no pain, and no one was intending to follow him.

No, no, no, not again! They’re gonna think I’m betraying them! I have to hold myself together. he mentally shouted to himself. Embarrassed by his actions, he turned around, hoping no one noticed anything. If they did, Granite Rose hoped they wouldn’t show it.

Splashee noticed Granite Rose's behavior, even if it was hard to detect since the turtle was moving so slowly. It wasn't too difficult to fall back into old Splashee thinking there might be a dangerous or unpredictable situation here, but he had made a strong case for himself to NOT do that! Their friendship was going to be more important later, it is worth getting in trouble for it.

"And there goes the sun" He said while flapping his wings, like he was the only one noticing such an obvious change in the sky. Princess Celestia's presence was always there, no matter where in Equestria he was currently located, only this time he felt the magic being so close it started hurting. "I'm sorry, I didn't anticipate..." Splashee quacked in pain, shivering his feathers. "It'll be over in a moment, it will not affect our plans! I promise!" he laid down in pain.

Emerald Heart has been quiet for quite some time now, which was unusual for her.

She had no idea what to say or do anymore. What she did know was that there was no way that her friend would be getting hurt over this.

"No." She whispered, walking over to the duck and managing a sad smile, "I love your determination, and I hate to be doing this again, but there's no way you'll be doing anything in your condition."

Mowing sadly, she nudged him with her nose in an attempt to cheer Splashee up.

@Splashee Seeing Splashee in distress allowed Granite to forget about himself and focus on the duck.

“Whoah, uh, a-are you okay?” Granite cried, panic evident in his voice. He walked a bit closer to him and watched for anything he should be really worried about. He thought about holding one of his front feet out to anchor Splashee, but decided against it since he didn’t think that would accomplish anything. Granite clenched his teeth, feeling anxious and awkward at the same time. He wasn’t sure what to do, so he just stood there. If Splashee really needed help, he’d ask for it.

"M... Magic makes me ill. I'm allergic to it, you are an earth-pony-cat, I hope you can understand...".

@ExplosionMare
"I'll.... I'll be fine, my turtle buddy", Splashee replied to Granite Rose in agony. "I have been through worse, hehe.... Ouch!", he quacked. "Friendship is not only a good thing to have, but it is also magic™, which hurts". (Friendship is Magic™ is copyright © Hasbro®, etc)

@Lord Valtasar
"Miss Lullaby... Please don't rethink our plan. It is the only way to get us back into being Ponies again". Splashee couldn't afford being outside the safety of the thick library walls, far away from unicorns and their crazy magic... He suddenly saw something glowing "Guard, everypony hide!"

she thought over their conversation before speaking, alergic to magic, that was the first time she heard anything like that, it can't be pleasant judging by Splashee's state "it's not ideal, but i think.." she stopped,

he seemed alarmed, what did she say to make it so? but before finishing her thought he explained it was a guard and went into hiding, they were far enough to not be in any danger, sure he'd be able to see them, but why would he care if they were there? it was a park, she hid anyway, if it made him feel safer that's what they'd do

after the 'danger' had passed, she was decided "clearly it's not safe staying out here alone, better if we take our chances and all stick together" it seems to be what he wanted too, and psychology was importand so he won't panic and do something stupid "stay close to us and you'll be safe" she reasured him, though there was no guarantee any of them would

@Splashee Granite Rose had no idea what Splashee was talking about. He wasn’t sure if all the pain had made him confused or he really did have a magic problem. Either way, Granite was going to help him. He felt a strange obligation to, as if it would make up for doing basically nothing during the day.

Suddenly, Splashee spotted a guard in the distance. Unsure what else he could do, Granite quickly hid in his shell, hoping his grey shell would help him blend into the dark.

@Lord Valtasar

Without much effort, Splashee rolled over and disappeared into one of the street gutters they were close to. He couldn't see if the guard was going towards them or away from them. All he could hear was his own heartbeat. Is there really a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Canterlot? He thought to himself. The high security seems to be over the entire town and not just around the main castle. Animals running around in the dark is not a usual sight either. The others must have found hiding spots. I hope Solumn Lullaby knows the places she can hide, since she is bigger than the rest of us.

Emerald Heart was staying silent for a while, just staring at Splashee. She was worried about him, constantly thinking that him getting hurt was all her fault. If she wasn't so careless, then he would have been just fine.

Worthless. Stupid. Oblivious.

That's what she thought of herself as.

Worthless. Stupid. Oblivious. Unworthy.

If she left the group, would it really be that big of a deal? She wasn't as smart as Solemn Lullaby, and not as confident as Splashee, and definetley not as kind as Granite Rose.

"Worthless. Stupid. Oblivious. Unworthy." She scolded herself aloud this time, her ears folding down as she stared at Splashee, "I deserve this. I messed everything up. I deserve all of this... "

Splashee sneaked over to Emerald, and looked her in the eyes. "We are all in this together! We will find a way to get back to our pony selves. It may seem difficult right now, and it is easy to blame yourself, but what has happened has happened. All of us are needed in these difficult times. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and they will balance themselves out if we stay together!".

@ExplosionMare
The guard had made a 90 degree turn and disappeared around a building. The coast was clear. The library looked all quiet, and most of the magic was gone, making it possible for Splashee to fully 'function' again. But where were Granite Rose? (I am not trying to control your actions here, I am just having trouble locating you, that is all!)

@Lord Valtasar
It seemed that, despite her being the largest of them all, Solumn Lullaby was okay (seemed okay). But what had happened?

@Splashee Granite popped back up out of his shell as soon as the guard disappeared. He looked around just to be sure the guard hadn’t turned around. He noticed Splashee becoming frantic, meaning his shell trick must’ve worked if he could fool someone that close to him.

@Emerald<3 He nearly got up to tell Splashee he was mere feet away from him  when he heard Emerald berating herself. The words she gave herself upset Granite. She had done a lot for everyone and she was punishing herself for it. Granite Rose sympathized, but knew he couldn’t say much to help, so he gave her a sad look in an attempt to say he understood her. He then looked away, preoccupied with the guards now that he was paranoid another one would jump out.

"it was not your fault, and i for one am looking forward to find out who's it actually was, let's find out what that amulet was and who let it there, and hopefully how to reverse it's effects" Splashee really needed an explanation of how she 'avoided' the guard, the truth was the guard probably didn't care if they were there, not yet anyway as they were still outside, but that was not what he needed to hear, so instead she said "looks like the guards' famous carelessness is true after all, good news for us, let's be in and out before they get any wiser" she looked at Granite, "since we're all going in together, you better be on my back so you can check what happens behind us" she then at her crow friend and nodded, it was now or never, "let's go"
